oh boy....:shk: :shk:

Surely he knows NOW is not the time, therefore, assuming that he knows this, (and I'm going to assume he's at least that smart, and I think he's probably brilliant), he's either up to absolutely no good, like an attack, or he's at the top of mocking us and any sanctions or actions we may threaten him with.

Well, maybe Mr. AmIamaddogwholuvshezbullah is stupid enough to have its forces travel through Syria to Lebanon and Israel. Maybe would could loan Israel a few A-10 Warhogs to revisit the old debate about Arab armor/infantry versus U.S. airpower.:usfl:

Either that or there will be a new odor in the air in the middle east.

At this point, Israel will not allow anymore foolishness to occur. I believe the area will heat by by the 15th of September (most likely earlier).

I just spent the last hour or two studying this man Amadinejad (sp) and now, I'm more worried than I was. I read the 10 page letter he sent to P. Bush and studied his background. I said in my earlier post that I believed he was probably brilliant. Well, there's the ole' saying of genius bordering on insanity. That's what I believe we have here.

IMO this is a photo-opportunity---sattelite photos that is. They want the US and Israel to ponder the countless high rez images, worry about them, analzye them to the max.

All the time the US will be worrying that the Iranians are putting on what the Russians call a Maskirovka, or "Grand Deception." You know, show the troops bumbling about, moving slow, making a lot of mistakes, doing the drunken monkey martial arts move to make your opponent think you are incapacitated.

On the other hand, if they are moving smartly and efficiently that is no mistake either. Then they would be saying "this is what you are up against if you want a piece of us." Those future photo images might be the justification needed for the US to put off any action pending updatng and revision of threat analysis studies. So this could push any USA planned action off into 2007 and therefore indefinately.

This is the reason I believe Israel accepted the ceasefire. They *know* it ain't no 'exercise', but the real thing. Everybody was 'surprised' by Israel's reaction to hizbullah capturing their two soldiers. Well, I'm not. Because now, *all* of their troops are combat vets. They are as ready now as they'll ever be to face Iran and Syria...and kick some serious butt. Hide and watch!

Also, be prepared for it to hit here at home too. Look for uprisings here by the islamic terrorists inside our borders.

Quarry mentioned as blast test site
Environmentalists fear effects of 700-ton bomb
(aka Divine Strake)

By Grace Schneider
gschneider@courier-journal.com
The Courier-Journal

With little fanfare, U.S. military officials and the operators of a limestone quarry near Mitchell detonated 3,000-pound batches of explosives in the summer of 2004 and in March 2005.

The blasts were part of an experiment by the federal National Threat Reduction Agency to fine-tune ways to root out enemies and powerful weapons nestled in limestone tunnels.

Although the tests largely escaped public attention, the same Hoosier quarry was identified this month in a published report as a possible location for a far larger experimental blast involving hundreds of tons of explosives.

Rogers Group, the Nashville, Tenn.-based owners of the Mitchell quarry, 30 miles south of Bloomington, disavowed any knowledge about the Lawrence County operation being considered for the larger blast....

...According to some estimates, such a blast would have more than 200 times the force of the one that destroyed the federal building in Oklahoma City more than a decade ago. ...

...Smith was said to be unavailable, and another spokeswoman said it's "premature" to identify any potential locations until an assessment is completed. ... (anybody know where we could test this? hmmm...)

Iran military to launch war-games as tensions build with West

Wed. 16 Aug 2006
Iran Focus

http://www.iranfocus.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=8263

Tehran, Iran, Aug. 16 – Iran will launch a new round of war-games later this week, putting on display new Iranian-make armaments, a top military commander announced on Wednesday.

The military exercises involving land and air combat forces will begin Saturday in several border provinces where anti-government protests have been most rampant.

“We must show the enemies the Islamic Republic’s military capability”, the deputy commander of the regular armed forces, Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani, told reporters.

Ashtiani said that the manoeuvres, code-named “Zolfaghar”, will be in support the policies of the government and in particular the Foreign Ministry, a possible reference to the military’s backing for the theocratic state’s nuclear program.

He specifically mentioned the provinces of East and West Azerbaijan, Khorassan, Kurdistan, and Sistan-va-Baluchestan as regions where the manoeuvres will take place.

Among items which will be put on display in the military drills are armour-piercing bullets manufactured by the Defence Industries Organisation, affiliated to the Ministry of Defence, he said.

Ashtiani said that the armed forces were “ready to thwart” all “plots” against the Islamic Republic, adding that no army in the world could match Iran’s regular armed forces, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and its affiliated organs.

Iran has a dual military system with a regular armed forces as well as the IRGC. Both report directly to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Oh zol gofart

On thing for sure is that Tanks are on the way out at least in urban fighting.

The Hezzies in Lebanon and the Insurgents in Iraq have shown that the new anti-tank rpg's work.

Tanks are good for standing back for artillary support as long as your opposition does not have an airforce.

I say let Iran bring out their new Zol gofart tank, it will make for good live fire testing from the IDF's AF.

Iran To Continue Nuclear Work In Defiance

August 17, 2006 7:32 a.m. EST

Nji Che - All Headline News Staff Writer

Tehran, Iran (AHN) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Thursday vowed his country would not abandon its nuclear program. Ahmadinejad accused the United States of developing nuclear bombs yearly.

Mehr news agency, a semi-official news service, in Iran quotes him saying, "How can the Iranian nation give up its obvious right to peaceful nuclear technology, when America and some other countries test new atomic bombs each year?"

Earlier in the long running nuclear crisis, Iran's President cautiously welcomed atomic incentives offered by western powers. He said they were a "way forward" in the process of resolving the current nuclear standoff with the west.

However, he did not mention when Iran would respond to the incentives or whether it planned to suspend uranium enrichment at all. Now it appears Iran won't suspend its controversial nuclear program.

Mildly off
alt spelling Zulfikar

The Zulfikar (Dhu'l-Fakar) sword
According to the Islamic tradition, the sword called Zulfikar belonged to Ali, the first caliph after the death of Muhammed. Zulfikar is one of the oldest symbols in the Islam and according to Shiites its existance goes back to Adam, who carried it out of Eden down to the Earth. The tradition says that the sword once belonged to Muhammed too, who gave it to Ali before his death.

The Ottomans adopted the symbolism of Zulfikar, that gradually became one of the main symbols of the Janissaries. It was not only an icon used in the war flags, but was also sculpted as a part of their tombs.

Baris Kilicbay, 20 August 1999

I have tracked down the following information in the academically impeccable Encyclopedia of Islam - New Edition (1965), Vol. 2, p. 233.
It bears out the important role of the sword in Islamic symbolism. Following is a summary, not direct quotation. My comments are in square brackets.

Dhu'l-Fakar [lit. "the possessor of the notch"] was a sword obtained by the prophet Muhammad as booty at the Battle of Badr [in A.D. 624]. It is mentioned in the Hadith, the traditional sayings of the Prophet.
The name comes from notches or grooves on the blade, pl. fukra.
Dhu'l-Fakar is axiomatically the best of all swords; fine blades produced in Islamic lands have traditionally born the inscription in Arabic, "There is no sword but Dhu'l-Fakar" [an allusion to the first phrase of the Islamic creed, "There is no god but Allah"].
The sword passed from Muhammad to his son-in-law Ali, fourth caliph in the Sunni succession or first imam to the Shiites, and became a major symbol of his family. After his death, it ultimately passed into the hands of the Abbasid caliphs.
Muslim iconography depicts Dhu'l-Fakar as having two points, apparently to mark its magical character - it was said to be capable of putting out both an enemy's eyes at one time. [This is not necessarily inconsistent with the popular explanation that the blade was split when Ali drew it from a scabbard that had been nailed shut; Ali is axiomatically the best of all heroes and so could be expected to perform such a feat.]
Dhu'l-Fakar eventually became a given name. [e.g., Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, late prime minister of Pakistan]

Well, Caplock50, you got that right! Mr. ABC has indicated, more than once, that Aug. 22, is a day to watch. Maybe, Israel knows something more than they are publically sharing. Not all Israel troops are Vets, as I understand, the regular army does not have the experience of their reservists.

Might be a real good time to stock up.
