Yes, espically the "viva la revolucion" pic at the bottom of the page...now...if we don't start coming together and do something instead of bickering and fight amongst ourselves, like I am seeing here and on other boards, we going to be in deep chit.

These people are organizing, and we as Americans should be doing the same. I am not advocating armed rebelion, yet, but we need to get a handle on this and soon folks. So keep calling, writing and emailing the elected officals, boycott the heck out of stuff, take a day off of work in protest on April 19 or whenever, but lets not just set here fighting or we will be caught with our pants down.

These aren't illegals that are protesting and organising. They are well oiled machine that have been planning this sort of thing for 30 years.

These clowns are riding on the backs of the illegals, using them as a "cause celebre" to further their goals of reconquest. They are as dirty as the businesses that get rich from the sweat of the illegals. Probably dirtier.

Just like all those nicely-lettered and pre-printed signs and banners I've seen waved about.

I don't even know where the hell to get that kind of stuff, and if I *found* a place like sold it and said, "Hey, just going to a protest down the street, can you whip something inciteful up for me and my angry mob friends?", they'd say, "Hmmm. Lets see, design, printing... how many do you need? 50? Ok,come back in a week."

This is suspiciously similar to all the Danish flags that popped up in those muslim demonstations. Where the hell do average, fired-up angry mob's lay their hands on this kind of stuff? Are there whole chain stores of "Angry-Mobs-R-Us" I've just never visited? Inquiring minds want to know.

since when? last I heard ('99) the best you could do, was a long term lease (99 yrs or something), but not own. Plus, the Mexican gov't revoked those long-term leases on a whole bunch of Cali people who had homes there.

I never said you couldn't work there. DH has gone down there to supervise some construction there, you just have to have special paperwork, and sometimes even escorts, depending on where you are working. I have had several friends work there (in big construction), but not since 2000, so, maybe it's changed.

Land Ownership Rights of Foreigners in Mexico

The restricted zone is described by Article 27 of the Constitution as "lands or waters within a zone of one hundred kilometers along the borders and of fifty kilometers along the beaches of the country." Land in this zone must be acquired through a trust fund established for fifty years. In this kind of trust fund the bank retains the property title but the foreigner is the beneficiary and may use and enjoy such premises and may sell or even inherit the rights to it. The bank, however, must be notified of and approve all operations regarding the property.

Land Ownership Rights of Foreign Companies in Mexico
Mexican companies with 100% foreign capital may own property directly in the "restricted zone" for non-residential purposes. There are other restrictions to be aware of when acquiring property for agricultural and forestry purposes. Foreign companies may not own property for these purposes and foreigners must observe the land size limitations.

This restricted zone is along the border & along all the coasts. There is, however, quite a large American/Canadian retirement community in the mountains of Mexico, near Guadalajara, on the shores of Lake Chapala and home ownership is possible there, as this isn't within the "restricted zone"

The city of Oceanside has cancelled all classes for middle and high schools until Monday because it has gotten so bad. So many students were walking out and wandering around, disrupting traffic and businesses. The schools decided to close and hope the kids stay home. Unbelievable!

Perhaps we should copy this law and send it to all MSM as well as all gov. entities it pertains to. Insist that they enforce this law and get off their duffs and protect this country. Ethnic groups are welcome here as long as they realize that they are guests here and act accordingly. We should insist that they honor our society as we honor their country's. If enough of us send this law around insisting it get enforced, maybe someone will get the idea and the law won't need to be enforced vigilante style. That is what you all are advocating. On a side note...I thought this was quite surreal and hilarious...last night my DH and one of our good friends went out to one (there's FOUR in our small town!) of our Mexican restaraunts here in town for dinner...it just so happened that they had a live Mariachi band playing - they were very good! There were about ten of them and they would walk from table to table and ask you for a song request. Most people were asking for 'La Bamba' or 'Mexican Hat Dance' etc...they get to our table and ask what song we'd like to hear and our friend pops up and asks for a song about Pancho Villa!!!! They had one and it was good...have no idea what they were singing about but every once in a while the trumpet player would make a sound like a horse whinnying and another guy would paw his feet like a horse and make machine-gun sounds!

From what a Mexican lawyer said, there are ways to set up a corporation to own property. Haven't really investigated it enough to see just how secure it is. Then again, I've heard Chavez is welcoming Americans too.
