US Mint suspends American Silver and Gold Eagle sales

Now there is a huge surprise...
Still available on FeeBay with insane premiums.

American Eagle Silver Proof Coins

Production of United States Mint American Eagle Silver Proof and Uncirculated Coins has been temporarily suspended because of unprecedented demand for American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins. Currently, all available silver bullion blanks are being allocated to the American Eagle Silver Bullion Coin Program, as the United States Mint is required by Public Law 99-61 to produce these coins “in quantities sufficient to meet public demand . . . .”

The United States Mint will resume the American Eagle Silver Proof and Uncirculated Coin Programs once sufficient inventories of silver bullion blanks can be acquired to meet market demand for all three American Eagle Silver Coin products.

Update: Due to the continued, sustained demand for American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins, 2009-dated American Eagle Silver Proof Coins will not be produced.

The United States Mint has suspended sales of their popular one ounce American Gold Eagle and one ounce American Silver Eagle bullion coins. The suspension was announced in a memo sent to the US Mint's authorized bullion purchasers.

That's what it might take to hold on to your gold.
That's what it might take to hold on to your guns.
That's what it might take to hold on to your Bible.

Communists are interested in confiscating all three!!

Back when they confiscated gold, they were confiscating money. Real gold coins that were in use everyday. They didn't want them to use gold anymore, which left Americans with only silver. Man-o-man if it was me I would have started collecting silver dollars like crazy from that point on. Today of course none of our general circulation coins have any worth except for the nickel and old copper pennies.

Can they confiscate gold/silver coins again?

Sure

They can do what ever they want legal or not. They can pass a law or ignore a law that already exists, which is the heart of our problem.

Yes, they can and they have. When TSHTF - and it already has for many in the auto industry - you will go through your stash in no time at all.

Your lose your source of income in this economic tsunami, and how much is your monthly rent/payment in terms of oz? Mine is over 1 oz. How much is food. 1/2 oz for me. How much is the other stuff. You need to have a pretty big stash of PMs to survive this tsunami. Measured not in oz but in pounds. Just assume it hits and you are out of work for 10 years. That's not a crazy situation at all but very possible.

Happened to me in the recession after the dot-com bust, was out of work for 3 years, when IT job market walked off the cliff. I anticipated a crash and had enough to comfortably last me a year or so but it just went on and on.

Had a stash of 50+ oz in gold, lost all of it over the years. So yeah, I am convinced, they can absolutely confiscate it via economic manipulation.
Now remember back then, it was worth about 1/3 to 1/4 of what's it worth now.
And once I did find "a job" in 2004, it paid about 1/3 of what I made in '99 and did not allow me to rebuild the stash.

I concluded I don't want to depend on the cubicle world for income, in fact, the idea of a 9-5 job is rapidly becoming obsolete.

THis 'suspension' has happened in past years I think as sales started getting ahead of production.. that whole demand/supply issue... demand keeps picking up at the high end which buys out supplies... so the mints have to keep increasing production runs.

Soon the supply/demand equation which really rear its ugly head of reality as the big boys try to find somewhere 'safe' to put their ill gotten gains.

The real reason

The reason why they stopped the sale of the coins is because they are running low on high quality tungsten to make more.... SCARY!!!!
