Gainesville Church Sparks Global Outrage (Black Panthers Threaten Pastor Over Koran Burning)

Members of the New Black Panther Party showed up in Gainesville Monday to let The Dove World Outreach Center know it is outraged by its plan to burn the Koran.

"I believe in peace but if you aggress me, I am going to fight back," said State Chairman of the New Black Panther Party Mikhail Muhammad.

The church plans to burn the holy book Saturday on the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

The pastor's plan has reached all the way to Afghanistan where Monday hundeds of demonstrators burned a cardboard effigy of the Gainesville pastor, Terry Jones.

"We are not surprised at all that they are responding in that way because that's the nature of Sharia law, that's the nature of violent Islam," said Jones.

"We basically want to warn Pastor Terry Jones that if he burns this Koran, he's going to insight a wrath and chastisement on himself that he will not be able to bare (sic) and all he's going to do is add more division between Muslims and Christians when we should be sitting down at the table to resolve our differences," said Muhammad.

The New Black Panther Party say it will be back in Gainesville Saturday to show the church and the world they won't stand for religious hatred.

The New Black Panther Party say it will be back in Gainesville Saturday to show the church and the world they won't stand for religious hatred.

There is a big football game on 9-11, Gators and the Bulls. This is not going to be pretty. Gainesville is a laid-back stoner, country, college town in the middle of we don't smoke and we do chew land...the media will have a field day with this and must be rubbing their hands with glee.

ultimately, the Koran is possibly the most dangerous book on the planet, inciting hatred against all religions and all people who fail to bow down and worship allah.

satanic is only the beginning of descriptions that describe what it has already inflicted upon the world for the last millenium or more. Islam is the longest running horror show going since the beginning of time.

Police declared the protest an unlawful assembly around 10 p.m. and ordered the dozens of protesters to disperse. The majority of the crowd cleared out, but a small number lingered and caused trouble, police spokesman Gregory Baek said.

Police made a couple of arrests, Baek said. He said police won't have a final tally until they complete the booking process for the suspects.

Free speech applies to Christians, Republicans, Conservatives... not just Muslims, long haired pinkos, ad nauseum. While I don't particularly advise burning the Koran al Karem, I do defend the right of this Church to practice peaceful free speech. The violence, intimidation and threats of the Black Panther terrorists is illegal, and the Justice Department should investigate these threats, IMHO>
Korans may be burned in many other places, in a legally protected manner. But that would require courageous robust Christians and be a major change from drinking coffee with cookies, or bickering among themselves, or playing bingo, or practicing the sexual perversion of the day
I think it is better to keep organizing support and educating people as to the horror and cruelty of Islam.

I find the thought of burning someones Holy Book to be distasteful at best, even if it is the Koran, and even though I despise muslims.

Other questions arise.
What should we do with women going out in public without the modest covering of a burka and unaccompanied by their owner?? This is very offensive to a Muslim.
And the newspaper ads for Western, Hollywood movies that are exploitive, salacious and patently offensive to the Muslim conscience should be banned also??(and this public immorality gets some of the good ol boys in the Stans really fired up)
Should criticism of Islam on the Internet be banned?
If we take away one persons right for peaceful, free speech, where do we stop?
Or do we stop until the Caliphate is universal?

Who brought all the Muslims over here? Your friendly U.S. government.....especially during an after the 1980 war in Lebanon. We opened our flood gates, and brought them in by the droves. Gave Dearborn Schools big bucks for bilingual education.......hired teachers from the old country to teach Arabic and English to students.

The first wave came over in the 1930's to work at the Rouge Plant....not many then...mostly Europeans.

The second highest Moslem population Coldwater Mich. Mostly Yemeni...came over in the 1960's and after.

Issues of book burning aside, Mr. Muhammad would do well to stick to vocabulary he understands how to use. He's trying to use "big words" to sound smart and impressive, but he doesn't know how to employ them properly and thus ends up appearing more ignorant and foolish.

English can be your friend. Best to master it before you become a public spokesman.

Are both valid points.

The Muzzies are pissed because of the threat of the Fl. pastor burning the koran, so they in turn burn a cardboard effigy of him? WTF? Doesn't anyone see the stupidity and humor in that? :shk:

IMO the Florida church is either looking for publicity or a world of hurt.

What happened to WWJD or turn the other cheek?

I agree with the book burning just so we can get this thing started , the quicker it starts the sooner it over then we can live in peace. The persecution of christian has already begun lets not let it drag on.

Exactly right, Jed. I've lived in an Islamic culture, and I know them. Warm fuzzies do not work with ragheads.
