Has No Life - Lives on TB
Andrea is still at the Aid Station, of course, waiting for her supply truck to show up. Moreso since she had an unexpected patient arrive before she was ready to begin accepting patients. But is too often occurs in the real world miscommunication happens and people jump the gun. I won't mention a patient being admitted to a hospital in the area here without a doctors order for same.

You are very welcome. It is difficult to find enough time to write more than a few paragraphs at a time before I run out of inspiration. I try to keep a page or two in reserve between postings so there is "seed material" as it were should it get to be too long between posts.

Andrea's "hospital" is about to begin working in earnest, as future postings will show.

Just wanted to let you know I'm really glad you've picked back up on the story. It's very good! I'm still trying to get caught up since I hadn't read it in quite a while.

There are a lot of focus points to the story starting to come together very quickly. I'll admit to stewing over one section for a very long time, as I want the medical descriptions of procedures to be accurate. I *could* use a lot of literary license but I'd rather not implant false impressions in the reader's mind.

Every item mentioned in the story exists in fact, and is, or may be, used as described. The reference books our heroine uses are all real and current. The training programs all exist in fact, though I have changed the names in order to avoid possible embarassment for the promoters.

Sorry to be sooo long in posting a new section. Had a spend a few days down in Meh-hee-co "researching" story lines. ;-)

Seriously, I am writing as fast as I can. These blasted 12 hour shifts really mess with a person's day. By the time I work, travel to and fro, sleep and eat the entire day is done save for time to glance through emails and little else. As it ends up I've not even made a Scout meeting in a month because my shifts always fall on meeting nights. See, you rate above even my Scouts!

Thanks for the new chapter! Glad we rate above the Scouts. Hope it's not too long before you can write again!

I hope this was soon enough. :-) I'm sure a few readers can personally identify with the opening of the latest installment. Call it a compilation of what some of us too often have to deal with in real life.

I have tried to make the medical aspects as realistic as possible. I am very fortunate to have a decent medical reference library that includes a few books not normally available in the US, one of which includes War Surgery, Field Manual by Dr. Husum et al. I have to admit though that the compartment syndrome pressure monitor took a bit of research to find as so many places have gone to prepackaged guages. This story is after all about an austere hospital that doesn't enjoy the luxury of umpteen thousand disposable devices to address every possible contingency.

Married life is very good, but I sure wish she'd end her visit to the kids/grandkids and come home. I'm getting hungry!

Unexpected night off from work (on call, so we'll see) gives me more time to hopefully finish out another segment. Better scrub in people, the surgery is about to commence.

Rascal: Nice job.

It's job of orienting them befell Rod by default when it was discovered that they had not inherited more than a couple of regular line mechanics when the aircraft were acquired. Only Rod held the multiple ratings necessary to service all but the electronic gear.

Sorry for the long break, folks. Couple weeks in Europe in Dec, preceded by a week in CA before that in Nov., work, work and more work since and now a spate of illness. Hopefully it won't be nearly so long this next time.

As always it is a pleasure to read each new addition. Hope your travels went well and the nasty weather we have had here in the Siskiyous does not hit you too hard. Seems that when we have rain/snow it becomes blizzards to the south:shr: Go figure. Get to travel to San Antonio for a wedding at the end of March. Someday I might be able to finish my story and post it here. God bless ya, Sis

Far from the end. Right now I am devoting all my writing time to the next edition of Survival and Austere Medicine: An Introduction. PAS had to be put on the back burner for now I'm afraid. No choice, we are writing one of Andrea's finest reference books after all. :applaud:

Hope to get some more up before too awfully long.
