GUNS/RLTD Some observations from a trip to Colorado

Just returned from a 4 day trip to Denver area to visit family. My son who lives in suburban Denver is ex Military (MP), and ex LEO/Corrections. He suggested a trip to a local gun range as he had not practiced for some time. He wanted to stop at Wally World for ammo. I said good luck with that, he seemed perplexed. Old dad was right. Nothing on the shelves. We called the range and asked if by chance they had any 9mm for range use. They said "sure". So we get to the Centennial Gun Club and it is a candy store for gun people. Just wanted to see if my arthritic hands could still work, so I bought a box of 50 for $20. Not huge amounts on the shelf but plenty enough for a 5 box limit on various calibers. Since my son was new to the area, they comped the range time. Between us, we shot enough to feel competent. My kid says I'm good enough to hit what I shoot at, but a llittle messy around the edges. And by the way, the new law takes effect on July 1, but they had plenty of AR 20 and 30 rd mags. Get em before their hot!

Tech, you just made my day...

You should have asked for me; that's my store!

Glad you enjoyed your visit; stop back in a year when we're done with the construction on our new facility right next door!

Do they give conceal weapon lessons for permit? My kids want to take them this summer? Thanks, night Owl

If you only visited Denver/the front range.... you ain't seen Colorado !!

Amen! But it's still so nice to see a positive post about CO - it's been a while since I've seen one. If you just go to Denver and Vail, you haven't seen CO. Just like if you go to NYC and Long Island, you haven't seen New York State.

To all you Coloradoans, we just flew in and visited the grandsons and family. We did go down to Colorado Springs and see Garden of the Gods. Next trip, we will drive and do it up better. We did not go to Denver proper, and have no real desire to. The driving is crazy and as bad as Houston, where we also have family. We did eat some good chow at a place on Front St in Monument, Co just north of Colorado Springs.

I was just commenting to Mrs. Bulldog about how the traffic around the metro areas is as bad, if not worse, than back in NY/NJ. She agreed.

Yes, we do offer CCW courses, even Ladies-only. Go to www.gunstorecentennial.com, click on "training" and you'll get course descriptions, available times, etc.

Lots to do in Colorado once you're outside the metro-areas. Steamboat, Durango, Grand Junction, Red Feather Lakes, are but a few of my favorite spots.

Too bad the politics in this state are going to shit, but we're fighting back. The recall effort of several officials is gaining momentum, the Sheriffs have filed lawsuits, and a bunch of individuals are claiming their rights are being violated by the mag bans.

We ain't done yet!

If you really want to see Colorado...get off I-25 and the front range. Go inter-mountain and the west slope.

I went through y'alls State last summer. I did not get to se much, but what I saw was absolutely bee-ootiful! I did get to take the Bud_weiser tour at Fort Collins and the children loved that. I'd like to come back and explore more in a year or two.

For y'all Coloradoans. The State is good, it's just y'alls politicians that suck. But then again don't they everywhere?
