Well, 35% for bananas certainly qualifies as a dramatic price hike. So too the 9-12% price hikes.

I am not consulted or informed by MH regarding the rationale of their pricing decisions. (Perhaps an internet search on food inflation, such as for bananas will turn up some insights.) I'd try to be of more help, but right now I am swamped with orders.

This much I can tell you--MH assesses their product pricing once a year and adjusts as warranted--up or down. Usually they stand pat or close to it ... or even occasionally lower some prices. They are very cognizant of their end-price being at the top end in the storage food marketplace and they do all they can to control and manage costs.

Generally, what affects MH pricing are two things: fuel costs and bulk food prices from producers.
