washingtontimes.com‘s Emily Miller provides a list of the 81 guns banned by the Maryland legislature in the bill Governor O’Malley signed last Thursday. “The list makes it obvious that Mr. O’Malley does not understand how firearms function,” Ms. Miller opines. “This legislation was written on emotion, not fact. Another state falls by the wayside in the war for gun rights.

Now all thats needed is a resident of that state to take it to court for violating their constitutional rights.

it is my understanding that a suit has been or will be filed. The take effect date is October 1st, so they have to wait until that actual date to file. Not that I expect anything positive out of the suit.

about 400 years ago, oppressed people began coming to America for freedom. Freedom lovers ought to leave the oppressive states and move to states that honor the God-given rights of free men. That's what we are planning to do.

I don't worry too much about that, because I will never pass through or visit this state or the 9 other communist states. All must boycott these states! It's a shame I had to add Colorado to my never visit again states. Such a beautiful place too.

I feel safer already. I bet people in Baltimore feel much safer.

This will undoubtedly lower the murder rate in Baltimore, since we have seen conclusively that semi-auto rifles, legally obtained and registered, are 'causing' the crime wave in Baltimore and that crime has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with the demographics of that fine city.

Our son and his family live in Frederick, which is a 5 hour drive from us. Because Maryland doesn't reciprocate with Virginia as to carry permits, we must leave our guns at home for the whole trip.

Mama don't like having a light purse, for sure. But.

Husband's work has a UPS driver that told him the Maryland state troopers, after running license plates of cars on the interstate going into the state, are pulling over the cars of carry permit holders. Just looking.

People are so sentimental and stupid about children. Here's a radical thought: most of you submit so your children will be safe. By your submission, the Beast is empowered to even more usurpation and destruction. How safe do you think your children will be in the end, if you allow the Beast to run free and control you?

DH and I are working on getting as many as possible before the ban takes effect. Yup, we are rabble rousers.

We are also developing our plan to evacuate from the state. We have to sell our house and we are waiting until next year when we will be above water after the real estate crash.

We are evaluating states where we can move so we can have a small homestead and homeschool with little interference from the state.

Any and all suggestions welcome.

There are a couple of important factors that are keeping my wife and I in the state. My family is here and work. I don't want to miss watching my nephews grow up like I missed most of watching my brother grow up.

People seem to think it's SO easy to just up and leave to another state because of stuff like this. Not only is it not easy but it's costly in more ways than just money.

Speaking strictly for myself, I never said it was/would be easy. However, it may become necessary at some point. Remember, there's a reason it's called TEOTWAWKI.

Reason #999 not to get a concealed carry "permit". Doesn't take a genius to see that it will get abused and tracked. You are on the list and you put yourself on the list.

That on top of CCW holder names being published in the newspapers.

CCW is a trojan horse.

We're already on lists...navy veterans, Christian, homeschoolers, tb2k readers...but the penalty for being caught carrying without a permit trumped having the permit.

Several months ago the Lord thumped me for having my priorites wrong, since my focus had become America first, and He has helped me put Him back in first place.

I believe in American exceptionalism, and the founding of this country was assisted by divine intervention, but I also believe that we are under judgment and it is wrong for me to get wound up about governmental atrocities.

I am sad and upset, but by far more sad, especially for our kids and grandkids.

And, we will leave the weapons at home the few times per year we go to Maryland, because breaking their law is not worth the risk, but seeing family is worth a weekend being disarmed.

Well, it looks like I can no longer support our Texas Longhorn friends in that area. I am frequently invited to judge cattle for a group that has several shows in the area each year (specifically Frederick).
