SOFT NEWS TorahTips Leaving for Chicago

Neither here nor there.
AHEM!

They say travel is broadening - rounds out a being to accept different other beings and different situations.

Can't say I agree - but I was pretty agreeable even before my travails with Owner. Still, I'm a stay at home horse.

NOTHING beats my field on a brisk spring morning with the dew still on the grass and a warm sun and Owner muttering to himself in the barn.

Good luck to you though. Your presence at the board will be missed, I'm sure.

We'll leave the light on in the barn for you - just like mine!

Joe, TT is essentially going back home... a place to which I am sure you can relate! He will have a brief visit to rehab to get his life back in order... and for this we should all pray because God is working in all of our lives now as well as TT's. Most importantly there are some out there that cannot bring themselves to ask for prayer, but are praying for TT' and in doing so God is working in their lives as I write... we need to be praying for the entire body of Christ now.

Has No Life - Lives on TB
TRIP REPORT--just took TT to the bus, and have to share this. After getting all the bags squared away under the bus and so forth, I asked TT if he'd like to pray at this time, and he said he'd like nothing more. So I asked The Father for traveling mercies, and then was moved to give the old (Hebrew, I think, but we used to use in a church where I grew up) blessing: "May the Lord bless you and keep you, may He make His face to shine up on you, may the Lord lift up your countenance, and grant you His peace".

And when we lifted our heads after this, and looked up over the bus, we saw......THIS. Boy, did we both smile pretty big. Jehovah Jireh. FWIW, I looked at the folks who came out of the bus, and fwiw, they did NOT look like... people you wouldn't want to sit next to. So goodness so far. TT goes first to Portland, then to Denver, then to Omaha, Neb, then to Chicago. He's off, and, thanks to wonderful MissBean, he's fed and in a better mood!

It was a 'sign' then, and still is. Thank you for sharing this. What beautiful and caring people you and MissBean are. Yahweh grant all blessings to you. You've encouraged me, just knowing people still care this way for others.

Thanks for the ride to the bus station. You're right, the crowd on that bus was not good at all. I think every one of them was stoned. I thought I was in for days of misery. However, the Portland to Denver bus only had 18 people get on. All of them were "normal" folks. We have since lost some and now only have 12 people left on the bus. Horrible night's sleep. We stopped every hour.

However, the bus not only has a restroom, it has outlets to plug in stuff, and full wifi access to the internet. I am typing at 70 mph on a bus.

I agree Dennis. However, MissBean went far beyond common decency. She understood my situation and gave selflessly to someone she didn't even know. It was amazing to feel such care from someone I didn't know.

Thank you a thousand times over. Thank Bob also. You are amazing.

I give up.
Maybe he's napping. It's really hard to sleep on a bus, like he said. The few bus trips I've taken (one all the way across the entire country), it always leaves you feeling rather zombie-like. Nothing you can do about it though.

We stopped for an hour to get the bus serviced

It's good to hear that you are composed and collected. I once took a Greyhound bus from Ann Arbor MI to Anaheim CA [via SF] and well, that was it for my bus traveling days. You should see some beautiful scenery along the way. A tip: if you run into some rainy weather, that would be a good time to catch some zzzzs. For some reason a steady rain and traveling by bus is conducive to restful travel.

Praying that our Father leads you to the best in care and a new start in Chicago.

TT, used book sellers have software that lets them scan the barcode on a book, and that software tells them how likely a book is to sell, and what price it should be sold for, depending on demand and how available or rare it is. So the price of secondhand or out of print books can be greatly inflated.
