My disability case goes in front of the judge in July. That is just one month short of two years now. I understand your frustration.
About 3 months ago my disability advocate called and recommended I get a lawyer and she referred me to one that has had good luck with cases like mine. I haven't worked a job since 2004 because of major pain issues. I "should" have filed back then. It would have made this whole thing easier/faster. But I waited until two years ago when the pain got so bad I was going in for cortisone shots in my knees and shoulders about every two months.
I need pain meds to get thru the day and to sleep at night. I also am using a muscle relaxer at night and on days when I absolutely can not move, even with the higher mg pain killer.

I have found that moving as much as I can tolerate helps almost as much as the pain killer except I can't do that without a painkiller.

Arthritis stinks. And now it's affecting my right hip too. Getting older is zero fun. At least in this house as dh also has arthritis. We make do and just do work arounds a lot.

What I recommened in post #14 works wonders with arthritis--especially arthritis because it greatly reduces the inflamation to the point that it is almost non existant in most cases..

That new shaking resembles something called Primary Tremor...common in middle age and up...generally not treated or with something very mild like a low dose beta blocker.

My Uncle, age 85, has had it for a number of years. Among his half dozen serious conditions, he doesn't give this one much thought.

I hope Mike starts improving soon. Best wishes to to you folks.

Praying for Mike and the rest of the family.
My husband has been telling me to apply for ss because my back pain is so intense.
After several years, I finally applied last November.
A friend of our family's son-in-law is a lawyer so we used him to make all the arrangements for the paperwork.
We gathered up all the dr reports and results of back X-rays and gave them to the lawyer.
This past Friday, six months after applying I got approved.
It won't be much, because I have never worked for anyone who paid high wages.
At this point anything will help out though.

Thanks guys. Mike has an appointment with the neurologist on 5/31. We made it late in the day so I can go with him. One day at a time Lord. One day at a time.

Prayers sent. Don't give up on disability. Took my brother almost three years. He did try on his own the first time. It took him getting a lawyer to finally get a judge to approve. Within two weeks of Judge approving he had his first check.
