Laniedrone, aka Daniel Cox

Back in 2004-2007 timeframe, the writer "Daniel Cox" put out a few great stories. His username on other forums was Laniedrone.

I thought he was a member here, but can't find any record.

The stories I know of by him are:
Calvin and the City
One Last Lonely Man
Six Days To Die
Survival of the Community
The IRS Audit of J. Peterson Wilhelm
Ye Olde Joke Shoppe
The Night They Took the Horse

Has anyone seen/read anything from him in the recently? I'd love to see more.

Thanks

I've done some searching and can't find anything by this author- all locked up at FS. Anyone know this person so we could invite him over to TB2K to post his stories?
Or, does he have his own blog? Thank you!

I have also searched -- extensively. And I've PM'd him a couple of times. But -- DANGIT -- I can't find the PM's to follow up.

Thanks!

I have Six Days to Live, Survival of the Community and One Last Lonely Man. I'd be happy to send them to anyone who wants them. I don't think I'm supposed to post them though.

I'd love them. I used to have a whole bunch of them saved until my flash drive had some sort of error and half my books got wiped.

I just checked over at FS.... He is still active there... and he was on-line yesterday... I tried to send him an email... something is 'glitchy' with my account there... I get a message saying that I don't have enough posts to use email (PM's???) there.... He is still active there as 'Laniedrone'

And your PM may or may not get through. When the section was first deleted any PMs/emails regarding that section went missing. And a couple of people got deleted when they didn't stop sending them.

Could you start a new post over there and tell him that he is wanted here? They might leave it up long enough for him to see it.

Would suggest that anyone sending him a message on FS not make mention of writing or stories in the first message. I suspect the messages are vetted. After contact is made THEN stories can be discussed off board.

I truly enjoyed his writings. I would love to read "The IRS Audit of J. Peterson Wilhelm" and "Ye Olde Joke Shoppe" again. If anyone can direct me to a site with them, or send me a copy I would be ever so grateful.

Thanks,
Jonathan

I have to shove this rock up this hill again.
I tried pm'ing him twice at the tree. No responses. first was asking directly about his stories. Second time was sending him my email to contact me directly with email and phone numbers. Nothing. I loved the Irs audit story! I would love to read it again.

I tried PM'ing several different members and got no responses.

What I found happened at that other forum is that the owner selectively turned off certain members ability to PM other members or stopped certain members from being able to receive PMs. It was/is how that forum owner decided to run things. He pays the bills, he makes the rules. You have to decide however if you can live with the rules. When I left I did so quietly and never looked back. You gotta make a choice and perhaps that is what Mr. Cox has done.

I have not been able to get any of the old stories from over there. However, I am glad of the experience of the great lock out as I am learning it held a lot of training lessons of what might be with the .gov and the internet. I think we all have, including loosing any feelings of unease downloading stories for my own reading. Seems multiple individual DLs has been of help to several of our current authors here who have lost whole stories due to the lock out or even personal computer issues. Sort of like a digital Fahrenheit 451

If a great crash comes along, I do hope many sources will have copies of my meager writings.

To go along with what Dustmusher said ...

In case anyone is wondering I hereby grant - Lordy that sounds snotty - anyway I hereby grant people permission to copy and paste and/or print any of my stories that I have published for the free enjoyment of all. Just don't go off selling it or bartering it for personal gain. The stories that I do for free I want to stay that way. Thanks kindly.

Thank you Kathy. I understand you feelings and have downloaded FOR my computer many of your stories. Yours are valuable for the lessons, while mine are an excercise in delusions of adequacy in comparison.

I do have several stories and parts of stories from my "tree" time. I don't mind sharing, sending to those who are looking. If ANYONE is looking for something specific, just email me and I'll look and see if I have it or not. I'm not saying I have ALL the writings, far from it. But I do have many. :)
