Wally World err.. Wal-Mart has the DAK Canned Ham - 16oz Cans x 12 at a pretty good price of 3.82 and when you order 12 you get free shipping saving the 16.00 SH charge. Lowest I have seen on these and they are great to store. You can order the 12x deal a couple of times. Just thought I pass this along.

They should last many years in a cool dark place, not necessary to keep in a fridge.

I just ate one a couple weeks ago that I bought in '99 for Y2K. I think I paid $1.79 each. 14 yr old, still fine to eat. Hard to believe the price is that high now, and that is supposed to be a GOOD price?

$3.82/lb for long term easily storable protein with the effort of a few clicks sure seems like a no brainer from where I sit.

Just ate a Dak ham yesterday. Don't know how old it was but the price on it was $1.40.

Why not just buy low sodium Spam, no refrigerator, last forever & < $2./can. Works great in pea soup, grilled or wrapped up in dried seaweed & cooked rice.
