Yesterday the local newspaper in Guam posted an article about F-22's being deployed to Guam for up to "4 months". Things are heating up with China and Japan over the disputed islands, lots of saber rattling.
I hardly know which direction to watch! (do you hear the hoofbeats?)
F-22 Raptor jets deployed to air base (Guam Pacific Daily News, Sept. 19, 2012)
A dozen F-22 Raptor fighter jets have been deployed to Andersen Air Force Base, and the deployment could last up to four months, said Air Force spokesman Capt. Chris Hoyler. The jets are accompanied by about 200 personnel, Hoyler said. According to a press release, the jets come from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska. Hoyler said yesterday that he could not discuss the number of flights that are planned for the F-22s while they are on Guam, but he said the aircraft noise should be more significant than it was during other recent training events such as Cope North and Valiant Shield.
