PREP If you are not ready for T Stuff THTF right now...

...you are never going to be ready.

You do not need any more warning
You do not need any more "dots"
You do not need any more situation updates
You do not need any more clarification.

If you cannot see what is going on now,
If you cannot see how fast the wheels are coming off,
If you cannot see that time is just about UP - then you are blind.

If you are not ready right the heck now - WHAT are you doing surfing the net and reading this?

GO!
NOW!

Rose tinted glasses. They smell the roses and never notice the thorns or the snake in the grass. Then they cry when they get bit or ask mommy to pull out the thorns. They will be knocking on your door looking for a handout when TSHTF, you can count on that.

Agree 110% but its shocking to see how many are totally oblivious to whats soon going to transpire. Man, are they going to be in for a shock, and there-in lies the problem. When those that are unprepared come after those that are, all hell's going to break out.

I don't think anybody can be absolutely ready. I look over the lists and ideas for preps here and elsewhere all the time, and usually find something I forgot or something else that sounds like a good idea.

I agree though, if you don't have anything put back by now, and especially savvied yourself up with a survivor mentality, I think you can pretty much hang it up.

I am astounded by the DGIs that I meet out and about these days. I've warned all the people I'm going to warn and nobody better show up on my doorstep.

Sounds like someone has been talking to a DGI or a liberal. One or the other.

Indeed. As I said on another thread, I'm working on getting the RV back in shape to travel. Huge amount of work. Needs a total cleaning and reorganization. I put in four hours yesterday and two hours so far today. Got at least another five hours to go before the initial cleaning inside is done. Then comes the reorg and reprovision. THEN I can bugout.

I'm better prepared than I was yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow. One more day...its always one more day that I need. One more paycheck.

I figure whenever it happens, I am better off than most people and way better than I was had I not already done what I have done. One can never be fully prepped and that is the nature of the beast. I'm missing lots of things, and if I had unlimited money, i'd already have them. But I don't. I have the basics for what I think might happen. Its the best I can do.

I have the biggest prep taken care of...God. The second best is situational awareness, and that is check. All the rest is the best I can do.

I'm the "wacko" in the family. The one the kids and adults make fun of. "Over protective" he calls me. But some of those adults aren't laughing at me anymore, but coming to me with what do I do questions. I even hear the "You were right" from the DGI parental units about what was coming down the pike. It's now here and they are seeing it. I've already prepped for them, but they dont know that. I want them to do some preps for themselves instead of everyone relying on "The Wacko" to do it.

DH is indifferent. He isnt against it, but doesn't do anything about it either. I love him to death, but he is not the leader in the family I had hoped. He just "is". I call him "Whatevah" man. He was raised in a entitlement home, so I can't blame him for that being all he knows. But I wasnt raised that way. I wasnt poor, but my parents worked for everything they had and instilled that in me. DH believes "whatevah" happens, happens.

Its hard to prep when everyone around you is snickering at you. But I still do it. Have no one to share ideas, good finds or questions with other than you guys here. I track on, doing what I can anyway. One day they wont all be snickering.

It's normalcy bias. People refuse to believe it could ever get so bad that life as we know it would be over, even when the evidence is clear. I have family members that think I "spend too much time on the internet" and that everything will be fine. I made my last pitch to them a few years ago, ending with "Do not show up at our house when it gets bad, you will be turned away. You have time now to prepare for yourselves." And since then, our conversation is only casual chit-chat.

Now I consider each day that nothing happens a gift and do what I can to continue to prepare.

DEPLORABLE ME
We pulled out all stops this summer to enlarge our solar system to keep our 240 volt well pump and be able to run it on solar. We should be able to irrigate at least 3 acres now, perhaps more, without an ounce of fuel. We went so far out of budget doing this I had trouble buying fresh foods...

Water is life out here...and we now can pump about 10,000 gallons per day if needed. When TSHTF we should be able to support a small community of people out here.

As an aside, my battery bank is in float by 10 am daily, grin...

Hello all.
I have decided now is the time to stop talking with others about what is coming down the path. I don't know if it's the right thing. But for my families safety I have made the decision. That or I go all in and post a big F U Government sign on top of my roof. Haven't really decided which way to go.

I agree with Hoss75 that the time for talking to others has ended. If they havent seen enough to start helping themselves, then they wont see it till its too late.
My family is what is most important to me now.
As I spoke to a friend, yesterday. She said that she had made an arrangement (Prayer) with God that she will prep for her family so that He would bring her family home safely to her. I feel the same way.

Hello Hoss,
Discretion is key, the better part of valour, an integral ingredient in survival. There is no reason, none whatsoever, that requires you to have in-depth discussions with others about events current and near-term. Focus, determination, mind-set cultivation, and critical priority selection are essential avenues to traverse.
The sign on your roof idea would best be considered indiscrete, unless you would relish a fast-roping demo in the near future. Besides, who has the time?
You still have an opportunity to get your shit squared away, if you haven't already done so.
Good luck.

God Bless America and all who stand with her:wvflg:

No one is ever really prepared for when the SHTF.
All we can do is make the transition as easy as possible.
Some will have a short transition time, and others will be fortunate to have a long transition time.
Any preparation will give you a longer time to think rationally.
Cold, hungry people in the dark can not think rationally. These are the people I fear the most.

One extra can of beans on the shelf will get you one more day unless you don't have a can opener.

I second that! Time to stop talking about getting ready and prep to others. I don't want anyone to think of me first when it occurs.

Best thing to do IMO. When everyones running around getting money out of ATM etc. You should be going around your home and doing your security checks.

It's funny, we stopped talking about prepping quite a while ago, because we were just sick of people not caring and thinking us crazy. Now, though, those discussions must cease so you don't become a target! The very act of trying to help becomes a personal liability, and another threat vector to add to the list. Quite a transition in environmental considerations, eh wot?
Besides, as I noted above, who has the time when there is so much to do?

I'm still watering the garden and dehydrating food, it's all I can do with what I have but I'm a heck of a lot better off than 99% of Americans in that regard. We pretty much quit telling people to get ready, either they listen or they don't, but we're running across quite a few like minded folks which is reassuring.

If I can just get out of this deathtrap before the poo flings, I'll be a lot better off, frankly the neighbors scare the beejeebers out of me.

The purpose of the media is to entrance the masses, and it's doing it's job-I suspect free circuses and bread will be provided for those who buy into the 'dreams' of somebody's father, slap a badge on them and turn them loose on the non dreaming sorts. If nothing else, the future will be doggone interesting.

Well put, TH. Look at interviews with ordinary German citizens in 1939 (or later) and you'll see the exact same things happening.

The DGIs may not get it consciously, but they know something is wrong. I was told at least 5 times last night 'I just haven't slept hardly at all the last week or so." When I said something about the news, most state they don't watch it. But they know what is happening on 'the voice'.

The last three times I've been out the traffic has been crazy. It's like people's minds are somewhere other than watching their driving. Just heard the sirens in the distance which means another accident.

I think subconsciously people know things aren't right, they just refuse to understand, or think it won't effect them. I think the majority of people are in for a very rude awakening.

SAVE YOURSELF !

Immediate loved ones. Talk to no one. They will come for your preps. Way past talking time.

Don't wig out or stress, just trust in the lord and keep preparing for a natural disaster like .Gov tells us. If you are here check the prep boards and homestead threads to learn more and download to hard copy all that you can. Read about how our grandparents survived the depression. Read about those who lived through WW2. Check out the stories from the collapse of Argentina and the seige of Sarajevo. People do survive in terrible times.

Stay low and stay grey. Most important stay away from the FEMA trucks.

Other than an occasional talk with my step mom about putting back some extra food, I haven't talked to anyone in a long time other than those who are also prepping. I did find out a couple days ago that we have way more preppers up here than I knew about. That is a good thing. Very glad to hear it.

Same thing here with my "bugout" camper trailer.
I plan on working on it every day for the next week.

If you are not ready right the heck now - WHAT are you doing surfing the net and reading this?

On the "Prepper Anxiety Poll," NINE people checked the top selection that says "Absolutely no worries."

So that means either they are prepped to the gills with EVERYTHING they could ever possibly want or need in an TEOTWAWKI situation (which is impossible, and dangerously arrogant) or they have their heads so far up their asses that they can't see what is going on or has been for quite some time.

Why would they waste their time on this forum then if they are in the second group?

Kook

A 'maker', not a 'taker'!
We gave up on warning anyone years and two states ago. When people start talking about how bad things are, we just grunt and move on. People are sensing that something is going to blow, but they are paralyzed with fear or the deadly virus of normalcy bias. Better to stay out of the way and be as invisible as we can than waste a warning on dead men walking. The only message i have for them is the Salvation of the Lord.

We have family all over the USA, but they mostly are DGIs. One exception is DD, who lives in Cincinnati area. She has bought some silver rounds to try to get here if the balloon goes up. I pray for her safety daily. The rest of them live in the big cities and are doomed. It breaks our hearts, but they had fair warning. My beloved Kookette has/been ridiculed by her family for being 'dragged to the backwoods' by her ignorant 'doomsayer' husband. (Me) I think they would rather die than even call me for advice, and it looks as if they may have their wish. ALL of them are too prideful to admit that they were ever wrong about anything.

Rant mode switched to off.
