May be a joke, but I think the premise is correct. When faced with not being able to purchase food for your family, pay for your home, cars, and material things, most Americans would chose a "simple" tattoo or chip in order to continue their status quo.
Most wont even understand the ramifications. They will be told, they will know it in their heart, but if they are not "His", they will not have the strength to deny taking it. That kind of strength and faith can only come from Him.

Having money isn't, but putting it and possessions before God, is. Making it your idol...the thing you pine after...is a sin.

Especially since all the Christians will have been raptured before the beginning of the Great Tribulation, those left behind will be more likely to take the Mark.

I always say this when the mark of the beast comes up for discussion.
The mark of the beast is not a microchip or anything electronic in nature.
The beast is islam and the mark is obeyance to it. Simple as that.
Since Western society is about to collapse, it will not figure in this mob scenario. The mob will be forced upon people in the M/E area, as it relates to the former islamic caliphate that is coming to life once again. It's former "head wound" is being healed (Rev. 13). The coming caliphate will be the "image" of the former caliphate.
For those who are likely to get their undies in a bunch with this post, let me remind you that the topic of this thread is the mark of the beast, and this post is entirely appropriate. Whether you agree with it or not. And we all know who YOU are. Don't we?

Unless whatever we think the "mark" is meets the BIBLICAL definition, then it is NOT the BIBLICAL "mark of the beast".

I can see taking the mark in your forehead (in your mind) or hand (obeying Islam by deed) might pass, but what about the number?

At this point in time, it is probably wiser to not get boxed in to thinking it is one thing or another, or else you might be so defensive of your own view, and if it should turn out to be wrong, you will miss it out of pride.
So it doesn't matter what 666 is, where it is, or who it is, but THAT it is. It can manifest in ways or in people or places that you didn't even think of. God is funny like that....he's a bit more creative than man is.
You WILL know it without a doubt through the Spirit when the time comes. Until then, why waste time trying to figure out what it is, when you could be putting that time into learning how to defend yourself against those powers of darkness.
The devil always wants to get man caught up in the physical earthly plain so that he doesn't pay attention to the real place where things are happening...the spiritual.
It is kind of like the movie "The Matrix". Everything in this world is controlled by other forces in another unseen world. If you can control that world, you can control this one.
Same is for heavenly places and earthly places. If you understand how the spiritual operates, you can never be duped into coming out of the protective barrier of God. Everything the devil does is done through convincing man to hand it over. He can only do to you once you allow him the power to do so. Deny that power, as Christ did in the desert, and he flees.
Jesus said in order to gain life, you had to give it up. And that is how it will end for many Christians, gaining eternity while denying their earthly presence to choose Christ.

For more info you can search youtube for Whalid Shoebat. He is a former confessed islamic terrorist who converted to Christ. He really knows the mindset of muslims. And because he knows arabic, he discovered the original Greek written "mark", is actually the arabic for "in the name of allah". I believe it is called the "bismah" or some such. Whalid Shoebats' discovery has been discussed here before. Also, Joel Richardson is another author of same topic plus more about Islam.

You are quite capable of researching this. And you know a lot about islam.
I have brought this topic up many times, but people still keep posting about how the big bad micro chip is going to get them. (this is not you MzK). I am convinced that the micro chip is a satanic deception (which God allows, of course) as far as the m.o.b., so that islam can get set up for their caliphate. It's all happening right under the noses of the micro chip m.o.b. believers. It's a great deception and is working perfectly to help islam.
Ultimately, of course, it is all part of Gods' plan.

I think people believe tooooooo much in technology though. It's is actually quite fragile and can come crashing down with a power outage. That is why I do not subscribe to the micro chip m.o.b. . It is just too fragile a system. Whereas, worshipping and obeying a belief system needs no technology and is more "spiritually" based.

For us in this country, if Islam is allowed to keep proliferating, and if this end times scenario gets to play out per the Book of Revelation, the choice will then be to accept Islam, and if you do not they will kill you. Or you cannot buy or sell, which amounts to a death sentence anyway for most people.

At 4:22 of the Whalid Shoebat video posted here (posts 10 or 14), he talks about this "badge of servitude".
When the caliphate is established, there will likely be some kind of outer sign like a badge that people will wear or die. I have seen video of muslim demonstations where everyone is wearing a green bandana with the bismah allah writing (that he says is actually written in the original greek text) on it, which so happened to be on the forhead. Some of them also had the same green badge on the arm with the same inscriptions. I think nowadays it is worn only during special occasions or demonstations.
