Obama will 'evaluate' bill to ban online munition sales
http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog...will-evaluate-bill-ban-online-munition-sales/
By Susan Crabtree - The Washington Times

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said Monday that President Obama will "evaluate" a new bill that would ban online ammunition sales in the wake of the shooting massacre in Aurora, Colo. That left 12 dead and dozens more injured.

During the daily press briefing, Mr. Earnest was asked whether Mr. Obama supports the measure, which aims to end sales of unlimited amounts of ammunition on the Internet and other mail orders. The bill also would force ammunition dealers to report large sales of bullets and other munitions to law enforcement authorities

At first Mr. Earnest said he didn't know if Mr. Obama was aware of a bill sponsored by Sen. Frank Lautenberg, Democrat from New Jersey, and Rep. Carolyn McCarthy, a Democrat from New York. He later amended this remarks to say the White House would evaluate the measure.

"The president's view that have been relayed quite frequently over the last few days, you know, is that he believes in the Second Amendment of the Constitution, in the right to bear arms but he also believes that we should take robust steps within existing law to ensure that guns don't fall in the hands of criminals or others [who] shouldn't have them," he said, referring to gun-control comments Mr. Obama made during at speech at the National Urban League.

The reporter followed up by asking whether president push for enforcing existing law would prevent him from supporting the bill banning online munition sales.

"Well, like I said, I haven't seen the specific piece of legislation that has been offered up today. But as those — as that and other pieces of legislation make their way through the legislative process, you know, we'll consider — we'll evaluate them as they make their way through the process," he noted.

This should be the tip off.... as we know from all the other "promises" and "statements" over the last 3 years by this president.... he usually does the opposite of what he "believes"....

Plan accordingly!!!!

They want you to have a license to buy ammo and track what you buy.

Ain't about stopping on line sales.

Its about data mining and we all know where that leads.

Lawmakers call for greater control of ammunition sales
(07/30/12) WOODBURY - Several politicians are pushing for greater control on the sale of ammunition in the wake of the Colorado movie theater shooting that left 12 people dead.
Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-N.Y.) and Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) are pushing a bill that would ban the sale of ammunition online and require all ammunition to be sold through federally licensed gun shops.

The bill would also require purchasers to show identification for all ammunition purchases and require gun shops to notify law enforcement of purchases that exceed 1,000 rounds within five days of the purchase. Gun shop owners say while the bill might push more sales to their shops, they doubt the bill would do anything to reduce crime.

There's already so much "ammo" out there! That's a
red herring. Guns are a force factor, along with Rights,
and fidelity to core Constitutional values that persuaded the
52(?) senators to have serious 2nd Ammendment reservations
+ "lighting up" the Congressional switchboards.

Really? Ammo? There's already enough ammo "out there"
to conquer the world 10 X over for crying out loud; heaven
forbid it ever comes to a fight! For crying out loud!

Cmmon! Easily half the folks that own guns don't even know
how to use them to stay on target; especially in a seriousP
situation! Get real...

Americans best understand that if they can't govern themselves
someone else will. The domestication and "dumbing down" is
nearly complete? This is a lame ass discussion.!!!!

I have been meaning to ask this of the forum:

As things are right now, do you feel comfortable doing on-line ammo purchases or do you buy it face to face with cash. The reason why I ask, is whether or not you want to be on their radar (credit card purchases being recorded and used against you) or fly below their radar as much as possible. I like cash purchases, but I feel that it may past the point of not caring what they know.

Please, over 25 years ago, the leftist proclaimed that there was a 100 year supply of guns in America, but only a 30 day supply of ammo. If that wasn't your 1st clue, then the L.A. riots and hurricane Katrina in New Orleans damn sure should have been your 2nd and 3rd clues!!

But then again, that's where the old saying "a few firearms, a few spare parts, and a whole lot of ammunition" origninally came from!

Oh well, what can one do?

The American "folks" are already "armed to the teeth" with more
"wakeups" each day. We are "hard wired" for our natural law
and defense Rights! The real battle is of ideas, our G*d given
foundations. Engage! The dominant minority lack moral
character and standing. They've LOST already but We The People
needn't be complacent in the least. THEY... THEM "blinked".
We The People are the POWER here (anyway) and THEY know
it. Gun up, arm up, but above all study up & engage in the debate! No more
stupid entertainment!.. We don't want this to Go South on us
unless your some kind of ignoramus. Many within Gov empathize
cause their "little" too, but be vigilant, discerning and "test the
spirits". Back to good and what we know to be good then we'll
be GREAT again. History!

Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force; like fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action.

We The People are the government! ( here ) but we must
re-engage the debate EFECTIVELY, and really!..not virtually!

Prefer cash face to face, but prices have also driven me towards online more than once. I figure I'm on the radar already, so be it. I like to shoot, so what.

You can NEVER have too much ammo!!!

NEVER!

My husband determined quite a while back reloading was a necessity.

On a positive note this doesn't help Obamas re-election.
(Also doesn't help Romney when you think about it, lol!)

These pricks need to get the fluck outta our lives.
Since they keep inserting themselves more intrusively into our lives more ammo is needed.

Get more accurate, site in and call it good. Above all
get your ego, and the notion of unlimited ammo "outta
your head"; especially considering much is either Russian(Wolf);
Chinese (Norinco) or Korean (PMC) made. Winchester or
Remmington or Federal for potential battle.... "heaven forbid" ; get
REAL!

Sight picture, breath control, trigger control.!

Three bullets is all the gate guards were allowed in Lebanon. So when a truck packed full of explosives crashed the gate, they fired their three bullets each and the truck just kept on going until it blew up the marine barracks.

intresting in that every time I have bought ammo on line, regardless of amount I have had to send the supplier a statement that I am legally eligible to buy and possess ammo and I have had to provide a copy of my state drivers license long with payment before anyone would ship.
So, if the ammo suppliers are already doing this than.....................what am I missing other than this is a first step to stop the sale of ammo.

They already know who has firearms and who doesn't. Trying to "fly under the radar" is an exercise in futility. The first question is, when are they going to come after the guns/ammo? The second question is, are we willing to do what needs to be done when the modern-day equivalent of the 1775 powder raids start happening?

Yeah Masterchief, I'm most intent on quantity and price, ease of purchasing and selection...so I've been exclusively buying via the Internet for a few years.

If you live far enough out and the nearest gun shows and shops are a 2 hr drive you buy your ammo on line a lot as well.

As long as you don't go too crazy and haven't given them reason to bother you it just gets added to your file. For later use.

They can watch me all they want. Probably have. But I'm too boring to warrant wasting time on when there are real bad guys really out there.

I have read of people who ordered > 3,000 rnds at a time getting a wussup visit. But even when I was able to afford shooting more .22 than centerfire I never ordered near that much at a time.

Like with food keep a steady purchasing history and don't break your normal patterns.
