Breaking: Same-Sex Marriage Unanimously Included In DNC Platform

THE NEW CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT

A plank supporting same-sex marriage will be included as part of the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) platform, according to an exclusive report at the Washington Blade, which notes it was a unanimous decision.

Also included is language supporting ENDA and rejecting DOMA. Retiring Congressman Barney Frank “who sits on the committee, told the Washington Blade on Monday that the 15-member panel unanimously backed the inclusion of a marriage equality plank after a national hearing over the weekend in Minneapolis, in which several witnesses testified in favor of such language,” Chris Johnson, writing at the Blade, reported today:

“I was part of a unanimous decision to include it,” Frank said. “There was a unanimous decision in the drafting committee to include it in the platform, which I supported, but everybody was for it.”

Frank emphasized that support for marriage equality is a position that has been established for the Democratic Party, from the president, who endorsed marriage equality in May, to House Democratic lawmakers who voted to reject an amendment reaffirming the Defense of Marriage Act earlier this month.

A DNC staffer, who is familiar with the process and spoke on condition of anonymity, said the language in the platform approved on Sunday not only backs marriage equality, but also rejects DOMA and has positive language with regard to the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. The exact wording of the language wasn’t immediately available.

Back in February, Nancy Pelosi announced she was breaking with the DNC to lead them to include support for same-sex marriage equality as part of the 2012 DNC platform.

Gonna be crowded in hell...

and calling a "same sex union" :fgr: a marriage is about as real as calling a dog a cat....doesn't make it so.

Sure are pushing the moderate and conservative democrats to the Independent tag, most dems I know are now Ron Paul supporters and hate what the communists are doing to the democrat party (not understanding that the direction is a natural progression from what the party is at it's core).

Let's see, this reminds me of something....oh yes. Sodom and Gomorrah. We all know what happened to that party.

Yeah... I'm real shocked.

I just pray that when the hellfire and brimstone falls from the sky, me and mine are protected. This country needs to be burned up.

Once again the vote suckers are taking the easy way out. Include a plank to support gay marriage, pick up votes, order your lunch and be on your way.

Struggle to find answers to the economic crisis we have in the country (world), lack of good jobs, dying housing market, famine looming on our horizon, yada yada. That job would require more than back slapping and ass-grabbing happiness of the pro-gay agenda. That job would require WORKING through lunch, dinner, no sleep, you know, doing the hard stuff. Oh, hell, lets just let gays get married, it's so much easier.

It doesn't matter what the Democrats put in their platform. The question of gay marriage will be decided in the Supreme Court within two years. I predict, based on existing precedent, that the Court will decide California Proposition 8 is unconstitutional, and the Court will also decide that gay marriage is a constitutional right. You can take that prediction as a given, a fait accompli. The real challenge in the future will be how the churches, including the catholic churches, will be treated. I foresee a time when churches will be threatened with losing their tax-exempt statuses unless they perform gay marriage ceremonies.

it really comes down to this in my book . . .
If you say you are a "Democrat" then i know exactly what your values are

I don't care that gays want to get married.

I really don't care. It's not a government issue as far as I'm concerned.

My only issue is if they want to impose this on churches by making it mandatory that a church has to do the ceremony.

Can't wait to watch the GOP play tag-along and endorse it too. Lotta people will stay home when that happens.

The candidate that the Demoncrats are running for President fought for the right of hospitals to kill babies by neglect, after they survived a late term abortion. Do you really think that they care about their immortal soul at this point?

It's not just forcing evil on churches (although they usually "claim" that churches can do what they like), it's forcing it on CHILDREN - they will be taught that "gay is good" and "Heather has two Mommies" etc. Happened in MA as soon as two fags getting married was legalized. Also - wedding planners, wedding cake bakers, wedding photographers, wedding apparel stores, and on and on and on. And employers having to give benefits to sodomy partners and so on. It's meant to radically change the entire society, and homo-marriage pushers have clearly said so for more than 20 years.

I thank the Lord that the right to life for unborn children and the protection of marriage from attack is written into our constitution otherwise we'd be going the same way as Europe and now yourselves.

Ditto that. There is no reason for governments to be involved in marriage at all. It should not be necessary to obtain a license. The only interest government has is preventing incest. There are criminal laws against that. The matter of property rights can be handled contractually and with wills.

I hadn't thought of that, but I think you've probably nailed it.

Marriage has been recognized legally for thousands of years for inheritance, who are the legitimate children, protection of the children and wife, and so on. It's an ancient tradition and there is no good reason to not have this recognition continued.

Evil is good, good is evil.

Exactly! What boggles my mind is that in all of the entire human history there has NEVER been accepted marriage between same sexes amongst not just Judeo/Christians but even Pagans except of course Soddam and Gomorah maybe. We know Greece and Rome were decedant and homosexuals were accepted, but they were NOT embraced in polite society and certainly not allowed to marry!!!

And no one wonders or is even curious why all of a sudden people are becoming sooooooo "tolerant" and soooooo accepting of this deviation so long of course no one is hurting anyone? The only ones they are fooling are themselves.

Yup, the prophecy of good turning to evil and evil to good is happening before our very eyes gang and we all know how "tolerant" the author of this Evil will be towards his blinded followers.

Storming Prayers are very much needed for these turned-around Demokrat souls!!!

I agree, and I pray for all those who do not know Jesus as Saviour. I know I came to Jesus as a horrible sinner, and yet He saved me. I know He will do this for all who seek Him.

so how do we explain to those blue haired little old ladies in Church to change their vote for the first time in 60 years from Democrat in a way that they will actually understand that THIS AINT YOUR DADDIES DEMOCRATS and if you do vote for Obama your dad is gonna roll over in his grave.

there have been a few that have said "I don't care; I really really don't care . . ."

the luxury of "not caring" has been denied you . . . by making this the party platform you are being forced to care
this now defines who you are

I don't think it's gonna happen. The Dems would totally lose all the Christian vote (remember, every state which has voted on homosexual marriage has denied it....had to be forced on them by the courts) which would mean Romney gets to be Pres (provided the Repubs don't go for this as a plank).

I also think both parties, however, will talk long and loud about adding acceptance of homosexual lifestyle as a "plank" in order to show their acceptance of the lifestyle, but without going "All in" in order to get the queer vote.

The Dems don't give a hang about "the Christian vote"---there are enough apostate and heretical Christians to vote their way, and they've already written off those groups who won't (evangelicals, practicing Catholics, Orthodox, "working-class whites", etc., etc.). And the GOP is dead-bent on doing the "big tent", all-conservatives-are-"extremists", song-and-dance, so I really don't put it past them.
