SOOoo...where are we on the "Road Warrior Scale"

This is taken from an page on Paula Gordon's site. It is the Homeland Security Impact Scale which is based on the old Y2K impact scale from 1998. I thought the "Road Warrior Scale" sounds like a more apt name for the times.

So with the market collapse, the rise of the cartel in America, job losses etc. Where are we?

FOR THE NEW POLL I'M THINKING 8...

0 No real impact on national security, economic security, or personal security

1 Local impact in areas directly affected

2 Significant impact in some areas that were not directly affected

3 Significant market adjustment (20%) + drop); some business and industries destabilized; some bankruptcies, including increasing number of personal bankruptcies and bankruptcies of small businesses, and waning of consumer confidence;

4 Economic slowdown spreads; rise in unemployment and underemployment; accompanied by possible isolated *disruptive incidents and acts, increase in hunger and homelessness

5 Cascading impacts including mild recession; isolated *supply problems; isolated *infrastructure problems; accompanied by possible increase in *disruptive incidents and acts, continuing societal impacts

6 Moderate to strong recession or increased market volatility; regional supply problems; regional infrastructure problems; accompanied by possible increase in disruptive incidents and acts, worsening societal impacts

7 Spreading *supply problems and *infrastructure problems; accompanied by possible increase in disruptive incidents and acts, worsening societal impacts, and major challenges posed to elected and non-elected public officials

8 Depression; increased *supply problems; elements of *infrastructure crippled; accompanied by likely increase in disruptive incidents and acts; worsening societal impacts; and national and global markets severely impacted

9 Widespread *supply problems; infrastructure verging on collapse with both national and global consequences; worsening economic and societal impacts, accompanied by likely widespread disruptions

10 Possible unraveling of the social fabric, nationally and globally, jeopardizing the ability of governments to govern and keep the peace

I voted Local, because where I live it's not too bad, but nationwide I believe it's Depression.

I sell parrot food, and made a delivery yesterday to a customer that I like, but don't really know. The subject of O came up, I was trying to educate her about some things, and she said "But he does love this country!" I asked her how she knew that and she just stood there with her mouth open. I suggested she start reading the internet for some news. "But Drudge is sooo one-sided," she said.

God has a plan, Trust it!
Where are we NOW, I would say 6-7, depending on your area of the country. Depression is around the corner and not too far off.

I think anyone who voted higher than a 5-6 is going to be in for a big surprise and will be immobilized with shock when we actually get to 7-8-9+.

I also voted local but, when you see all the summer people up here spending like crazy you wouldn't think anything was really wrong. It hasn't stopped people from using their plastic cards yet or buying expensive cuts of meat and things at the local grocer. OR all of them up here pulling their 4 wheelers or huge boats behind them.

But then the summer people are from MA and NY mostly so they haven't felt it yet, I guess.

Just the local poor feel it I guess.

I voted 6 Moderate to Severe Recession
We are hurting right now, but its going to get worse, much worse.
It won't happen overnight like many think it will.
It will be a long slow slide down the slope to grinding poverty.

Agreed.......to a point. I think it will do a long slide but at some point we will turn into a Sarajevo. War.
In all different directions. Just kinda mindless.

We're in a depression. But no one will admit it.

and then there's this little ditty from a very 'in touch' poster from zerohedge.

"the banking elites, and even some of the sovereign governments, are in the process of looting the planet as we speak.

Everything that has intrinsic value is being bought at fire sale prices.

It's becoming a self-perpetuating cycle right now, in that as people, businesses, and nations go bankrupt,

the people printing the money are buying the assets,

and for the most part, they are buying them with worthless paper.

In the end, it is entirely possible that victory will go to the last printing press still standing.

With this scam like this going, the powers that be don't have much interest in ending it to quickly.

And then there is number 5:

the powers that be need to consolidate absolute power over everyone before it is revealed that they stole everything.

Otherwise,

they probably would not live long enough to enjoy their ill gotten gains.

It does seem to be going on a timetable.

The end game is being played right now,

massive amounts of wealth are steadily being transferred from West to East,

the only risk management left is physical gold and silver

in your own possession.

you must also be able to defend yourself.

But not overtly,

those with the lowest profile will survive"

NOTE: Since none of us are old enough to have ever experienced a real depression, we more than likely find that either admitting we're presently in one, or are about to enter one, could be difficult, since our combined experience with such a phenomenon is very limited.

That being said, my gut tells me that we're in a depression, not a severe recession. We are not only experiencing a depression.....we are also being raped financially.

On the "Road Warrior" scale, just say NO to internal gestapo checkpoints

http://www.infowars.com/how-to-refuse-an-id-checkpoint/

Faced daily with multiple border patrol checkpoints inside the United States, Pastor Steven Anderson refuses to cooperate with interrogations and searches that violate the 4th amendment and rights of Americans.

http://www.infowars.com/must-see-vi...nt-to-prove-who-i-am-because-this-is-america/
Anderson: Is this Nazi Germany now, that I have to show my papers?

Officer: It’s a simple yes or no. I need an answer or we can detain you until we figure out whether you’re a U.S. citizen.

Anderson: Well, you know what’s more simple is the fact that my freedom is a little more important than you seem to think. Setting up checkpoints where people have to prove that they’re a citizen is not something that America is supposed to be about. So, I’m not sure if you understand that.

Supervisor enters scene: Grunt

Anderson: Grunt

Supervisor: Just pull up over there (points to line of detained cars)

Anderson: No, thank you… I want to go free on my way. Here I am just going about my own business and I don’t need to stop at a checkpoint to prove who I am because this is America. Correct me if I’m wrong – did I stumble into Mexico or is this still the United States?

Supervisor: This is the United States.

Anderson: Therefore, I should have the freedom to travel unmolested, because I’m in America here.

(pause)

Supervisor: Ok, go ahead and go.

I voted 9 becuase I am having supply problems for some time on parts. Our infastructurre is having problems mostly becuase of goverment interference but trouble none the less. Economy is in depression. We are in the begining of mob attacks. War is around the corner. Have a nice day.:)

Several poll issues are relevant - so would've check multiple lines if possible -

IMHO, we're teetering on the edge of the economic abyss, the slightest 'breeze' might send us over the cliff...if in fact that hasn't already happened and just isn't recognizable due to various manipulations by TPTB who wish to remain in power and control of the govt.

OR, as DO suggested, above:

"We're in a depression. But no one will admit it."

IIRC, that was the case in the 1930's as well -

+1000....i was blessed enough to be raised by my grandmother until she died when i was 12....i was in the Navy at 17, which is telling. i only brought that up because she was almost 30 when the Depression hit. She told me everything. How our extended family of 8, 3 working males, my great grandmother, who turned the backyard into a massive garden, how she had gone for weeks without a penny in her pocket, but the family always ate, and KEPT the house, etc.

She had me reading the newspaper daily when i was 5, and every evening the televised news, as well the newsradio on all day. my people worked in the garment industry, and my great grandfather helped organize the shop, unionized. They all worked hard, very hard. His joy on the weekends was listening to the ball games on the radio.

In many ways, under her parenting, it was as if, i grew up in 1946, rather than the 1960's, i lost her in Dec 1972, so much of my worldview and personal make up is shaped in this era. i save everything, waste is sin. She was the one that saw to it, that i was taught on Tuesdays and Sundays in the synagogue. She was the one that saw to it, that my voracious appetitte for books was satisified.

So today, i live in a hybrid world of my own, where Ike is still the President of the United States. You could say thats fantasy, but W.I. Thomas said, and i paraphrase, that whatever a man believes to be real, in its effect and consequence to him, becomes real.

We are in a depression right now, but also we are in a state of shock, fear and national denial.

Nice post, Shea....very informative.

As far as being in shock, fear, and denial....especially denial...it seems that the human condition relies on emotions LIKE denial in order to cope with circumstances that are above and beyond our ability to grasp this new reality. On a philosophical level, our material world is changing from moment to moment, day by day, year by year. The world we faced a few years ago is totally different from the world we face presently. The era of the 1940's, complete with its lack of our modern technology is but a far distant memory. Yet, was technology the answer then.... or even now....? IMHO, technology merely made man's abysmal moral condition much more visible. Technology is amoral.....even nuclear weapons have no conscience. However, mankind can be a multitude of things, including amoral, moral, and even 'heavenly'...depending.

The earth is a crucible...and our souls are tempered with the burning fire of our hopes, desires, and even our addictions. This fire will either temper the 'steel' of our spirits, or if unheeded it will forever scar those souls with the memory of what could have been if he had only followed the correct path. Unfortunately for many, pain is a mighty task master. There are those who are addicted to pain simply because they cannot change their reality.

We're getting there. I took #7 as if you look at the roads, etc you see that they're getting worse and this summers weather hasn't helped.

Really we're one good (or bad) push over the edge to really set people off. Notice how everyone these days is very tense? That's the undercurrent of being out of control.

When it comes it'll be old news to me, I'll adjust and live as long as I can afterwards.

Shea, I am in my early 60s. My parents were married in the early Depression and they were 40 when I was born. I grew up with a strong Depression era mind set even though I was a teen in the 60s. I always thought differently than my own generation. My parents instilled a waste not want not mentality, a strong work ethic, and a love for this country. I remember watching the Kennedy/ Nixon debate at an early age. I was born a new hound! lol
Your grandmother was a wise person. I have always been thankful for my heritage.

i agree. i voted 8, but i think you're right....7, at the cusp. Everyone IS tense, you can FEEL it in the air, so thick with tension, fear and loathing you can cut it with a knife.
