not even close at this time to Mad Max. We missed the bullet about 6 years ago.

Make common cause with others if you are in desperate straights and get ready for a great depression. Share a piece of land that you can farm.

At this time there is no particular reason for most Americans to fear Mad Max. Relax and enjoy Christmas as best you can.

Voted #8

With pockets of #9, not yet on the national scale (and perhaps never) but in isolated incidents, usually on the individual level. The infrastructure can collapse for *some* but not for all. TSHTF hits for *some* but again not for all.

I am in IT. And I can tell that they get hundreds of resumes per opening. If you go to an IT job fair, the long lines resemble something from the GD soup lines.

If banking could be considered "infrastructure" then I'd have to say that the normal curve should shift down to more of a 7-8-9- maybe some 10 later this year... than a 6-7-8 where it is now although I'm not seeing any "hard" infrastructure collapse...

Anyone seen DS lately?

Right now at 5, but the market collapse didn't happen cause it went from the real world to the small computerized fake world -- like a coup d'etat is often staged by putting in a puppet and pretending that the original country still stands, the stockmarket had such a quiet coup and no longer reflects anything. It's just a way for the puppet masters to pass monies onto their lackeys.

Given the gradation of problems in the first half dozen items, you should have about another half dozen steps between what you show as numbers eight and ten.

Supply problems: Stores running JIT are constantly "out of" items I use in bulk. Pharmaceutical companies report shortage problems. Excedrin Migraine is selling for $300 a box (just saw that on the news).

Infrastructure problems: Roads are broken, Internet bandwidth is being pinched, etc.

Consumer confidence is a major factor in recovery. I see very little confidence. That includes confidence in our so called govt.

IMO, that will break us in the end and send us over the cliff.

LOL, I voted in this poll thinking it was new, so added the original date to the title. Voted 6, although I know in some areas it's much worse.

I agree, there is very little confidence in recovery, except for one person I know who does think things are getting better, but also says anything can happen at any time.

Since the poll is 3 years old, we should close it and post an identical one to see the difference.

The Excedrin Migraine thing is because Excedrin recalled that product back in January, but apparently Migraine sufferers felt it worked well enough that they are willing to pay for the remaining supply, sort of like that old Seinfeld sketch with whatshername and the "sponge" contraceptive.
