UNEX Unexplained Noises Shake Clintonville, WI - Louder and Stronger Than Before!

This was the top story on the local news this morning. Numerous people in this small, NE Wisconsin town near me apparently heard loud booms, seeming to come from underground - and even shaking their houses. We're not talking one boom/explosion but numerous ones, all night long. No problems with gas/water/electrical. Now city officials are wondering if the issue is actually geological. Brings to mind this thread: http://www.timebomb2000.com/vb/showthread.php?401508-188-Days-full-film and this one: http://www.timebomb2000.com/vb/show...your-weather-earthquake-etc.related-questions

Unexplained Noises Shake Clintonville Homes: Updated

Authorities in Clintonville say they're looking into unexplained noises and shaking felt around the city Sunday night and early Monday morning.

Police dispatchers say around 9:30 Sunday night, people started reporting explosion-like sounds from underground shaking their homes. Police officers in the area said the sounds are like loud bangs with shaking.

The reports were concentrated in the northeast part of Clintonville.

The most calls came in just before 3:00 a.m., but City Administrator Lisa Kuss tells Action 2 News the noises then tapered off, and the last report was at 5:30 a.m.

Kuss says crews have checked the underground water and gas lines. But nothing unusual has been found. Water pressure is normal and no natural gas has been detected. Some of the reports said the noises were like underground pipes rattling.

No damage has been reported, and no one was evacuated.

Kuss says the next step is for officials to meet and map the reports of the noises to look for any pattern or any other details that might indicate what had been happening.

She says local officials will also talk with officials in Madison to see if there is a geological explanation, even the possibility the warm weather had caused something underground to shift.

Clintonville is in the northeast part of Waupaca County.

We have a crew in Clintonville and we'll bring you more details as they become available.

Government tunnelling????????????? Who knows what's going on with them lately.......One never knows.... Tin foil hat time.....
The earth has been acting strange lately....all of the volcanos that are erupting right now,
and all of the earthquakes that have been recorded in areas not prone to them.
Makes on go hhhhhmmmmmmmmm.... hope you have your preps up to date

Local news just did an update: Police Dept reports that the bulk of the calls about the booms appear to have occurred at 3 a.m., but they started at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday and continued to 5:30 a.m. today, Monday the 19th.

U.S. Geological (Dept.? I missed the exact word) says no earthquakes in the area have been reported. U.S. Military says no jet activity occurred in the Clintonville area. Investigations continue.

Wow, can't imagine tunneling in Clintonville.

Am looking to see if anyone has caught the "bangs" on video yet and put it up on YouTube.

Nothing about the "bangs"---but THIS is interesting---found a YouTube of more of those odd "noises from the sky" that a man recorded in Fish Creek, WI on January 31, 2012 between 4-5 am.

It sounds completely different from the Ukrainian, Mexican, South American or any other recordings of these sounds I've heard thus far, and so I tend to think it's not a hoax.

As for the "bangs", this sounds VERY much like what the hikers heard in Colorado back in August 22, 2011.

The Fish Creek video:

Ohmigosh---I just found ANOTHER recording of the SAME sounds, made by a different person on the same date, and this person mentions that the noises were occurring six hours after an earthquake on the Wisconsin / Illinois border. They also mention there is "The Niagara Escarpment runs straight through the Door County Peninsula where Fish Creek is located and ends at the Wisconsin-Illinois border where the earthquake took place. I have also seen 2 other reports of people in the Chicago area hearing the sound around the time of the earthquake (both before and after the quake occurred)."

The second "sky noises" video:

The Colorado video:

Still looking for a you-tube of this latest...

Maybe we could get a report on the solar winds? The poster of the second video above suggested that solar activity may have accounted for the noises, and someone here has found correlation between sun activity and earthquakes.

Also, we're getting near the next "188-day cycle" date---March 22---if that can be relied upon (but it "is" odd how the last four major earthquakes all took place on that 188-day cycle or within 24 hours of that cycle--some were 189 days---but all in that time-frame).

That's interesting. Some Virginia Beach friends also reported shaking either last night or this morning. I searched and didn't see any report of an earthquake or even news story on it, but apparently similar booms and shakes have happened there before. Funny for there to be two such incidents so far apart around the same time. What does that mean?

That is very much like many of the other sounds that were recorded. I think some of us discussed whether it could be quartz deposits amplifying earth noises or electro-magnetic energy from sun activity being amplified.

have a friend that is a geologist tied in with univ, he tells me that the midcontinental rift is a much bigger threat right now than the NMSZ.

Countrymouse,

Video one and two are the same recording. I heard the exact same background movement in the room.

OMG!

Wasn't there a post in UNEX a few months ago about a dream or prophecy that "it begins at Fish Creek" (or something similar)? I cannot seem to locate the post.

I just remember when I googled it, it appeared in Lake Michigan about where the mid continental rift is located on the map that jed posted.:shkr::eek:

Yep, we were having the booms and moans last night up here in CVA, so I'm just waitin'...

I just remembered the prophetic location: Chickenbone Lake, Isle Royale, MI

It is located about 400km north of Fish Creek, WI.

I still wonder if it is related.

Has No Life - Lives on TB
I didn't post this last month but back at the end of the ice storms we had in western Wa., I heard this very Exact sound while sitting at my desk in my office here at home. I live east of North Bend, Wa. and at first I thought it was heavy traffic on I-90 but then I remembered that they had stopped all traffic eastbound and westbound on I-90 that morning til early afternoon and on my way down to Safeway, all the semi's and regular cars were stopped on the road and on the side of the road.

There was no traffic and what alerted me to something strange was my three cats were running around going nuts. I have two purebred British Shorthairs who are very laid back and they were all running around at mach 9 and my third kitty was running around the house like that Pepe LePew tent scene in the cartoon of the French Foreign Legion.

When I first heard the sound also, the hair on my head stood up like an unconcious reaction although at the time, I didn't seem frightened. I thought that odd and thought it must be some deep ancestral reaction to danger. Very odd.

It was pretty funny until that metalic sound started and there was also the sound of a strange wind but there was no wind outside. And absolutely no traffic.

It was at that time I realized that I was hearing what has been reported throughout the globe. V

also known as the mid continental rift.

So, the mid continental rift and the Niagara Escarpment are the same thing? The pictures are not the same. Here is the mid continental rift:

Midcontinentrift.jpg

and here is a different picture of the Niagara Escarpment:

niagara-escarpment.jpg

That second picture certainly goes right through Clintonville, not to mention my own hometown. And, in some ways, it might explain noises heard out east at the same time as here. However, according to this, it is not a fault line at all:

http://niagaragreenbelt.info/listin...633-niagara-escarpment-biosphere-reserve.html

Contrary to what many may think, the escarpment is not a fault line, but in fact a cuesta (large ridge formed by tilted sediment).

There is a state park about 12 miles from here that has lovely sculptured, limestone cliffs, probably from the same Escarpment.

I remember it well---"It will all go down at 10:28 at Chicken Bone Lake".

A member (All My Cats) heard this in a dream in which she heard her (deceased) father telling her this.

It took us all a long time researching to FIND a "chicken bone lake", and it was finally found to be a lake on an island inside Lake Superior.

Which begs the question of "what" it is that will "go down" (the Lake itself? Lake Superior?), where it will "go down" TO, and whether "10/28" refers to a date or a time.

your first map isn't coming up, but when I googled the niagra escarpment earlier one of the maps I found included northern minnesota down through western WI. Now I'm not finding it, wish I had printed it off with the others.

I googled the niagra escarpment and the mid continental drift and came up with a wiki page that explains the geology.

http://www.mbgs.org/specialpapers_manuals.html

http://www.uoguelph.ca/~geology/glacial/fieldtrip1.pdf

just plug those two terms into google together and a ton of sites come up explaining the relationship.

Here is what I think. Many of these events have been reported around the world and strongly near latitude 45. There seems to be a core shift happening. We know for a fact that the magnetic north pole is moving into Siberia. This would be an indication that the internal core is rotating off axis from the crust. It seems that the core may not be perfectly round or molten, and that there are hot points of contact... the 45 degree latitude being one of them. In the northern hemisphere, watch: Aleutian Islands, Kiev, London. On the opposite side of the globe we have areas like New Zealand and Chile.

This was just on the news again. Apparently, city officials were on the phones all day long, talking to people about what it could be. 150 residents called the police about it last night. Geologists said (according to the reporter) "There was no earthquake, but there has been unusual underground movement." Whatever that means.
