A very engaging series of videos centered around a four man SAS mission behind enemy lines. The team is expected to carry everything they need to fight and survive for 28 days.

Very detailed descriptions of tactics, weapon choices, gear loadouts, medical equipment, fieldcraft, survial, evasion and escape.

This is an extremely well done presentation. I'm sure almost everybody will take something away after viewing this series,

Former SAS Sergeant Eddie Stone and his team of former soldiers guide viewers through a variety of SAS-style operations.

We all know they’re the most skilled, experienced and feared crack fighting force in the world.

But do you actually know how the SAS put the ‘dare’ in the ‘win’?

Join former SAS Sergeant Eddie Stone as he reveals the covert techniques and rigorous training regimes that enable the boys to survive even in the very toughest of combat situations.

I watched the first episode last night. An excellent primer, especially for beginners. I particularly liked the last part, where things began to go badly and the rest of the team had to adapt. I will certainly watch the remainder of the series.

I got halfway through the first video to where the narrator said the SAS has to pack out all of their body waste (I assume he means urine and feces) on 28-day missions behind enemy lines. I had to stop there so I could ask the board if anyone has had to do that in the military. I know that hikers in the Grand Canyon and other national parks have to pack our their feces. It seems rather impractical. I would think the SAS could just bury it. Is this standard operating procedure for covert field missions?

Very educational series!

There are 7 episodes total (60 minutes each).
It looked like all of them are on Youtube broken into 10 minute sections (parts 1 thru 6 for each of the 7 episodes).

Episodes 1 & 2 are entitled "Behind Enemy Lines"
Episodes 3, 4, & 5 are entitled "Guardians Against Terror"
Episodes 6 & 7 are entitled "Sabre Squadron"

If you have an interest in the these, I would suggest saving them to your computer using www.savevid.com or a similar video-download website.
Then all you need a .flv video player to watch them (www.videolan.org/vlc is a good choice).
I've learned with youtube that something like this can disappear with no warning. Torrents are also easy to find for the series.

Each member of a four man team has to carry a 100 pound pack for the 28 day mission. Also each man makes up their own survival kit and chooses which ration components to take and which to leave behind.

Interesting that on these covert missions there is no presumtion of A-10 or B-52 strikes for back up.

You are totally on your own.

Especially interesting is how they must adapt once "Plan A" falls apart.

Plan A falls they go to Plan B then Plan C and so on, All their training has dictated this. I actually am suprised that they had put this info out the way they did. I understand that there is more here then what has been released but it gives you a very good insight to their planning and preps for their missions.

I have downloaded 24 10 minute episodes of this. It was an awesome series when on tv but work kept me from watching most of it.

I have sat here all day and did nothing but watch and record. I'm telling all now, this is a keeper. I have my own reasons to watching it besides the info gleamed from it. But it is extremely worth watching.

Great series. Calling them the "the world’s toughest and most respected military force." Is a bit over the top as well as not being true, but still a great series.

Gee, only 28 days must be taking it easy. One of my friends was dropped behind enemy line in Vietnam and left for two years. He was a mercenary and you got paid at the end of the contract. Only 15% used to last till pay day. He had trained with the French Foreign Legion.

This has nothing to do with my friend but will give an idea of what it was like.

and dumb luck.

haven't had time to look but thanks. I will take a look. Special Op's 6 part series was also very interesting. First swing off the roofs and crashing through the windows to retake an Embassy I ever saw was the SAS in England a long time ago. Impressive, lol. Now it is common place. It wasn't then.

re: packing out wastes.....Well I can tell ya that 6 years ago it was ABOUT to be a requirement if a group was going into the Himmalayas. We were NOT required to but the folks in charge of the Park were getting ready to force it on all expeditions....and there were small hamlets along the way that were going to be able to make some serious coin, PROCESSING all that black water/solid waste, and were going to end up with RICH and CLEAN fertilizer by enzymatically processing it....

ref mil I share the scepticism....but I been a poseur for a LONG time...

One of the ex-SAS in the show was involved with the Iranian embassy rescue. They go into detail about that and others in Gaurdians Against Terror (episodes 3 thru 5). All of the episodes have lots of detail about equipment and training. The primary part of each episode is a fictional mission that show the range of their skills. The BBC did a good job of putting this series together.

It is 10 minutes per video, a total of -7- hours for the three episodes.

Do not miss it.

An amazing amount of real world information.

Here is a clip form a great UK movie inspired by the Iranian Embassy Raid called "The Final Option" or alternately "Who Dares, Wins".

I was having no trouble finding all six videos for episodes 1,2,3 and 4 on youtube. But when I hit Episode 5 everything got garbled up. Did the search titles change or something? I can’t find a complete set of 6 for each of the remaining episodes. Any links to the first video of each episode of 5,6 and 7 would be greatly appreciated.

I just looked on youtube.

episode 5 is missing parts 1,2, and 6. Here is the start of segment 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GChTGWJKuI

episode 6 is missing the first 10 minute segment. Here is the start of segment 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_w7sOrSDTn8

episode 7 still has all 6 parts. Start of episode 7: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWGnC3ZkzHE

Episode 5 seemed really stretched to fill 60 minutes. Even with parts 1,2, and 6 missing, you'll still get a good idea of their room clearing tactics and gear. This is the only one where I was tempted to skip forward because they were repeating themselves. The major part of missing segment 6 is where one of the SAS guys (finally) meets a hostage that he saved in the Iranian embassy rescue; not a big loss.

Has this been released as a commercially available video?

They are listed for sale on the Amazon UK website. (http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb...s&field-keywords=sas+survival+secrets&x=0&y=0)

They are region-coded for Europe (region 2) so a normal US DVD player would not play them.
Also, they are in PAL format so I think you would need a TV compatible with the European video format.

They might play on a computer DVD drive (set to region 2) and bypass the PAL format issue.
