Anwar bin Yamani Issues Death Fatwa for Koran Burning
A new message claims that Anwar bin Yamani has issued a death fatwa against Terry Jones, the Florida man organizing a public Quran burning on 9/11. The fatwa claims that it is mandatory for Muslims to assassinate Jones.
Here is part of the text:
Based on the Shariah it becomes Fard [a religious duty] upon every Muslim to assassinate Terry Jones should you come in close proximity to him as well as for those who support him in this cause of sin against Islam.
The offence is to our our Rubb [God], our Deen [way of life], and our Nabi [prophet].
May death overtake him.
We cannot verify the authenticity of the message at this time as it did not come through the usual Islamist forums. However, the message is being passed around the internet and probably reflects the sentiments of many violent radicals. Others may also believe in its veracity and use it as justification for action.
Moreover, the fatwa applies not only to Jones but "those that support him".
Presumably the author does not mean support him personally -- as Jones has shown himself to be a first rate scumbag -- but he means that the threat applies equally to those that support the Koran burning.

Actually, I did find out at the onset of this whole war in the middle east that the Quoran that is sold here at Books-A-Million was missing the whole section on Jihad. I had a cousin working in Saudi at the time and we compared the "real" Quoran to the one here and they were not the same. Anyway, you should be able to pick up a copy at your local Mosque..................they're everywhere now.
I do fear that this publicity preacher will incite trouble against way more people than just himself or his followers. The burn our bible, he burns their book..............where's the difference in radical behavior here? I'd hoped we were better than that.

So if we agree with Jones' right to burn books, do we need to kill all the muslims in self defense now? Legally speaking, if they must follow the edicts of fatwa then all of our lives are at risk, right?
That dude just declared war between people who support free speech versus muslims. What a shame it had to come to this. I suppose 9/11 will become the opening day of muslim hunting season.
