For me the ultimate 'dancing in the movies' would be Dirty Dancing.......

Especially the closing scene..........

Beautifully choreographed, great song and Swayze in his absolute prime.

The ultimate in dancing at the movies is The Rocky Horror Picture Show because the audience gets to dance while the movie is playing. What a blast. Next time I go, my wife and I are going to dress up as Riff Raff and Magenta and really get into it.

Wow! Great editing. I watched it the first time without sound so I could 'hear' the music of the dance shown - knew most of them.

However, it also proved I spent WAY too many Saturdays at the Midnight show - every time RHMS Time Warp was shown I heard the song in my head louder than Footloose from the speakers. RHMS/midnight movie was one 'happening' that was as much fun straight as stoned. (Assumption- never was stoned).

Have a very funny story which MIGHT get out of me sometime about the night 8 cops and wives/girlfriends and our teenaged kids (about 20-25 of us - just having fun) went together to Rocky Horror - and for some reason the movie's rent a cop started hasseling everyone waiting for the theater to open; after pulling his power trip on the usual kids he shut up when all the REAL badges flashed - the kids cheered. But not to hijack this thread.

WHAT is the name of the Gregory Hines/Misha Bareshnikov (sp?) movie -- something Knights???

who wishes she could dance - when walking across the room with out stumbling is a victory.

Thanks! That was fun.

Does anyone watch the TV show "So You Think You Can Dance"? I just discovered it last year, and have been impressed by the talented dancer/athletes that make it to the show.

Thank you! I loved that movie, especially the dancing two totally different types - both at the top of their profession. There was no way I had time to google. . .

I have been up to my eyeballs trying to save a 7 month old Malamute dumped at a shelter by the 'owners'...she is a baby -- it has taken about 24 hours but she is safe and will be going to Illinois rescue for adoptions after I get her from the other side of the state - and then get her to Dallas for the next leg of the transport sometime in the next month.

I guess I get to take my driving vacation doing a tour of Texas with a strange dog. Each drive is at least 4 to 6 hours one way.

Days like this I wish if I had to drive half the state - I lived in RI!

DM

PS -- does it give any clue to how crazy rescue can become when I check into TB2K to regain my sanity and take a break?

Not crazy at all!

Being the angel who helps rescue a creature in need (any creature) isn't about being sane or not ..... it's about being blessed with a heart that understands compassion isn't limited only to two legged critters.

The insanity is just a side benefit, IMO...... Keeps the sadder parts of reality from breaking your heart, over and over again ..........

Be safe, Dust Musher!

Wonderful!

CR - if you love Patrick Swayze's dancing.....check out the one he made with his real-life wife Lisa Niemi. "One Last Dance" is fabulous, and the intense
intimacy/love shows through when he dances with her.

Thank you, Laurane, for the pointer to One Last Dance. If you enjoy dance, as I do, you'll love the story, and most of all the dance.

Thank you for a wonderful hour and 45 minutes.

Hope in chains...
THE BEST Dance scene I have ever seen in a movie was the "Assassin's Tango" in "Mr and Mrs Smith". Second was Dirty Dancing.....
