Port Authority police are asking for the public’s help in catching two men who robbed $20,000 from the manager of a concession at the food court in Terminal A at Newark Liberty International Airport.
The robbery occurred at closing time, around 11:35 p.m. on June 27, in the Grain Station manager’s office, located behind the Foot Court in Terminal A, said Port Authority spokeswoman Jennifer Friedberg.
Two men, described only as African-American, beat an employee with a wrench, kicked him, bound him with duct tape and fled after the robbery, Friedberg said.
The victim required stitches, Friedberg said.
“We had leads, canvassed the area, and are now widening the search,” Friedberg said.
Any information that leads to arrests may result in a Crime Watch reward, Friedberg said. Anyone with information can call 1-800-828-PAPD or 201-239-3500.
