PRYR RQST Prayers for our Chronically Ill

Please add my mother, Nancy, to the list for prayers. She has what was breast cancer through-out her whole body, as well as bone cancer--back bone, tail-bone, neck, arms and shoulders, hips and legs...well, everywhere. She had a peptic ulcer break open in her stomach from cancer, and underwent the operation to over-sew it last Friday (2/5/2010). But it has been a nightmare since. No one should have to endure this kind of pain. She's on a massive amount of Morphine, and is non-responsive. And still in pain.

She has two Doctorates, taught school for 25 years and was a adjunct college professor, she had four businesses of her own, all to provide for and educate seven children--each of whom are tops in their fields across the country. We are a close family, and are reeling from the loss of our Mom already, hoping for a real chance to say goodbye before she goes on.

And please say a word for me. I am the oldest of this clan, and holding everyone together is a daunting responsibility to say the very least.

Thank you for your kindness. Prayers for all who pray for us, and my prayers join all for those in need of prayers on this and all prayer threads.

Pegeen/ Seabird

*NOTE: I have been with my mother around the clock in the hospital. She is remarkable. Whenever she becomes semi-conscious, she lapses into the Rosary. We are talking dozens of Rosaries. It is awe-inspiring.

Thank you, LeafyForest, and Bamma, and all who have prayed. My mother is doing better dealing with everything, pain-wise...so your prayers are touching our lives. Her brain is swelling with an increase of sodium--which we do not understand. But, it's coming down now, and we hope she will remember who are soon. We know she is soon to move on from this world to the next, and seeing her suffer has made us all accept this for her sake. I am the oldest of 7, Irish/Italian Catholics from the old world, and it is ripping each of us apart. But we are together, and we will become a stronger family because of it.

I love you all for the prayers, any who have even thought of us. The world is falling apart all around us, but our hearts are with my mother.

Thank you again,
Seabird

My mom, Nancy, passed away this afternoon. She will never have pain again. She was an angel, raised 7 children, took care of any child who was in need. On her mantel, she had a small row boat, where she placed her prayer requests. It was filled with prayers for people she had never met, but cared enough to put in a prayer for anyway. She was something special.

Thank you to all who have prayed. God bless all.

Seabird, your mother must have been a very special person and I'm sure her family will miss her terribly. May she rest in peace and may God give you and your family comfort knowing you will all see her again someday.

Still A Geology Fanatic
My dear son just went in for cataract surgery...both eyes. Hoping this saves some of his vision...because he is already legally blind.
He has a host of health problems.... deafness, epilepsy, a mitochondrial disorder that causes an impaired oxygen uptake and ragged red fiber myopathy a muscle disorder.

If the cataract surgery improves his vision it will be an awesome blessing giving him back some quality of life.

Hoping and praying for the best.

Freedom Isn't Free
He was bruised and brought healing!
He was pierced and eased pain!
He was persecuted and brought freedom!
He was dead and brought life!
He is risen and brings power!
He reigns and brings Peace!
The world can't understand him,
The armies can't defeat Him,
The schools can't explain Him, and The leaders can't ignore Him.
Herod couldn't kill Him, The Pharisees couldn't confuse Him, and The people couldn't hold Him!
Nero couldn't crush Him, Hitler couldn't silence Him,
The New Age can't replace Him, and "Oprah" can't explain Him away!

When I fall, He lifts me up!
When I fail, He forgives!
When I am weak, He is strong!
When I am lost, He is the way!
When I am afraid, He is my courage!
When I stumble, He steadies me!
When I am hurt, He heals me!
When I am broken, He mends me!
When I am blind, He leads me!
When I am hungry, He feeds me!
When I face trials, He is with me!
When I face persecution, He shields me!
When I face problems, He comforts me!
When I face loss, He provides for me!
When I face Death, He carries me Home!

Seabird, you have my deepest condolances, and prayers for peace for her family and friends. She must have been an angel here on earth.

Take care and God Bless!

Hi, guys! An update to my post (#53)

In my original post, I asked for prayer for my children as their father and I were divorcing.

Thank you so very much, those of you that prayed on their behalf.

I am so happy to report that they continue to deal with the changes brought about by this divorce like true warriors. I had been *so* concerned at the anger towards his father my 14 y/o son was exhibiting, but even that seems to have disappeared.

As much as I would like to be able to take credit for their well-being, I cetainly know that I had little to do with it. Our loving creator was the one to restore peace to their hearts and their loving grace towards dad.

Additionally, my MS is giving me no problems at all at the moment, and my daughter's T-4 (thyroid) levels are finally beginning to stabalize!

Jesus lives.

I would appreciate any prayers for my husband! He has been on chemo for about 5 months now. He recently got an infection in his toe, and it has spread to the bone. He has had to go off the chemo in order to have IV anti-biotics since regular ones weren't healing it. He may need surgery to have the bone scraped out. I am praying that the break in chemo treatments doesn't cause any new growth! Thanks so much! Dinghy

Thank you all!! He is doing well after his surgery. He goes to the doctor on Tuesday to have the toe checked again. On the 26th he goes to have a body scan to see if the cancer has spread since the chemo was stopped. Hopefully the infection will be cleared up so he can start the chemo again soon!! Thank you all again for your prayers. They are really appreciated!!!! Dinghy

Freedom Isn't Free
Got some great news yesterday. It has been a year since the operation to remove the cancer. The latest blood work came back normal. Had a scope last week and they removed a polyp. That biopsy also came back normal.:hdbng:
It is not definitive of course, but I'll take it. I still have some problems that were caused by additional operations and have developed a hernia where they cut me open. They can't fix it until I gain my weight back and I will be going in for a CAT scan next week. No cancer is the major news. The rest I can deal with. Thank you all for your prayers. They work.
