They Must Be Hiding Something Really Big
Author: Mac Slavo
- July 5th, 2010

As the BP oil leak continues to gush into the Gulf, and the only solution being actively pursued seems to be relief wells that are about 30 days from completion, the nation is starting to wonder - what is really going on down there?

The initial BP report at the time of the oil rig explosion was that 1,000 barrels of oil per day were leaking into the Gulf. Over seventy days later, we now know that it is roughly 100 times bigger than BP originally “estimated.” Our readers were aware that the problem was much bigger than originally reported had they read the article The BP Oil Disaster is a WAY BIGGER Problem Than You May Think published on May 6, 2010. Still, there were BP and government officials who completely denied that the leak was severe and were adamant about being able to shut it down with top kills, junk shots and a dome.

Last week, the US government essentially suspended first amendment rights in spill-affected areas by restricting access to photographers and journalists. Anyone found violating the 65-foot safety zone will be charged with a Class D Felony, punishable with jail time and a fine of up to $40,000.

In a free country, where the right to a free press is supposed to be protected by the very first of 27 amendments, all Americans should be alarmed.

No national security emergency has been declared (yet). Americans are (rightfully) alarmed by this latest development, which implies that something much more serious may be happening.

Reginald Kaigler at Demcad’s Corner says that Where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire:

Here are the possibilities:

1. Incompetence
Maybe the government is trying to protect BP and themselves from looking incompetent. Perhaps they are worried that this will make Obama look incompetent and hurt the Democrats in the coming elections.

2. Malicious Intent
Perhaps Obama wants this disaster to cause the maximum amount of damage so that he can use this crisis to push for his cap and trade policy proposals.

3. A Greater Threat
The last explanation seems like the most probable cause. Maybe the reason why the cleanup effort is failing is because they are not focused on cleaning up. I’m starting to wonder if we’re doing with a crisis that is greater than an oil spill. We now have reason to believe that the oil is spilling from the ocean floor. So maybe BP created some kind of under sea volcano that threatens the health of the entire Gulf of Mexico and now the government is trying to prevent panic by controlling the information.

The government’s motives can be any one of these explanations or a combination. In any event, what the U.S. government is doing is a direct violation of the 1st amendment of the United States constitution. There’s a reason why we are being lied to about the amount of oil that is erupting from the scene. there’s a reason why we are not using supertankers to clean this mess up. There’s a reason why the government is blocking the media out.

The federal government has something to hide.

What is it?!

We’d love to know the answer to that.

* For those millions of us on the Gulf Coast, we’d really like to know if we should be preparing to evacuate and getting our affairs in order if we won’t be allowed to return due to oil-soaked cities or toxic air.
* Is there really a methane-gas oil volcano under there ready to explode, potentially causing a Tsunami anywhere from 20 - 200 feet high? If you’re a BP or government scientists evaluating this situation, you should have a theory on this. For those of us in the direct path of any such tidal wave, we’d like to know the probabilities of an event like this occurring.
* In all seriousness, what are the odds of plugging this leak with the relief wells? And please, stop lying to us. Everything you have said thus far has been grossly underestimated, including your percentages for the previous, failed attempts. We’ve heard that there is a 95% the relief wells will work. Is this true?
* And what if, in a worst-case scenario, this well is in the 5% and we can’t plug it? Then what? What is the government’s contingency plan? Should we expect another hamburger and fries luncheon with our comrades in Russia to discuss a nuclear detonation?

President Obama gave us a not so fantastic speech about the oil leak a few weeks back where he failed to answer any real questions about the spill. Other than trying to push an alternative energy agenda, the President didn’t tell us anything new and provided absolutely no plan going forward.

All of this side-stepping and diversion leaves us with the same takeaway as Reginald had, where there’s smoke, there’s fire.

Someone is hiding something, and we would really like to know what it is considering this leak will affect the lives of millions and will, without a doubt, lead to a complete economic disasters for all of those who directly and indirectly depend on the Gulf of Mexico to provide a living for their families. And when we say “disaster” we really mean it. Reports suggest that Pensacola, FL hotel and condo cancellations are at - get this - 100%. Raise your hand if you think you know what is going to happen to commercial real estate, residential real estate, jobs and small businesses in the Gulf areas over the next 0 to 6 months.

We are resigned to the fact now, that the government will not provide any substantial details that could be helpful. They’ve resorted to putting people in jail rather than giving us the truth. This suggests that for the prepper on the coast, you should be ready for anything, from nuclear undersea detonation and methane-catalyzed tidal wave, to hundred mile wide dead zones and oil-infused hurricane storm surges.

Unfortunately, the American people who will be directly affected by this disaster will likely have no warning about potential ramifications, and will experience them in real-time, as they happen - though it is likely the rest of the country will not be alerted because it is no longer out of the question that the government will institute a full media black-out of any adverse effects.

I've had the feeling for a few weeks now that this is the true nature of the problem, that both BP and fedgov know the true breadth and depth of the situation and know that (1) it's beyond any human containment efforts and (2) a worst-case scenario that results in mass casualties is not just possible but probable, if even only slightly.

Didn't the Obamatron let the cat out of the bag when he told somebody that there could be millions od deaths in the GOM??
I remember reading about it.

I wasn't too worried before but I am starting to get concerned. We are in central Fl and if something did happen it would be next to impossible to get somewhere north in time. Not many people can just pick up and go - we have jobs, elderly parents, kids, etc. Wish somebody would just tell us the truth!!!

Yeppers! Sure did! There are many media sources to choose from which confirm this matter :

http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=U...kely+kill+millions,+perhaps+tens+of+millions”

Rather than waiting on TPTB to EVER tell us the full truth, we (who live within the coastal areas of the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic) better exercise wisdom now and start preparing to bug-out,....not IF necessary,...but WHEN!

Same here.

Though we aren't working, with a disabled husband, and no kin, in a worst case scenario our options are stay and deal with the results or just pack what we could carry in our vehicle and head out ...........

And regardless of individual situations, the mere thought of one state, let alone four or five states having to have the bulk of their populations relocated? The logistics alone are beyond doing and then there's all those pesky other problems such as shutting down the nuke power plants and ports and on and on .......... :shr:

As sick as this sounds I was wondering if this disaster wasn't cooked up or partially funded by the insurance industry who is tired of all the rebuilding in hurricane prone areas? Of course, it would be easier and make more sense to just not insure those areas, but that might not be legal nor productive to one's reputation or final goal . Or the whole thing could be part cap & trade and part insurance scheme.

And I am just wild ass speculating, because it seems that too many people involved seem to have their heads up their a$$e$ when it comes to a solution.

The First Amendment has been dying for years now. A slow, painful death.

No news crews or cameras within 65 feet???!!! And if you happen to sneak in, like any *good* reporter, they'll be fined up to $40,000?? This is patently wrong. (Besides being illegal - maybe we should sue?) Isn't there anyone we can write to about this?

A friend sent me a link and when this oil hits the gulf/jet (?) stream, forget about the fishing industry altogether. Completely. World Wide.

Ohh, I have a headache...

Just came across this ...

Worth the view IMHO 3 mins.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBZNKcQ4ba8&feature=player_embedded#!

n Brazil, an oil disaster 10 years ago struck an ecosystem much like the mangrove swamps in the US now being threatened by the giant BP oil leak in the US Gulf of Mexico.

More than 1.3 million litres of oil leaked from an underwater pipeline run by Brazilian oil giant Petrobras in 2000, making it the country's largest spill.

The oil contaminated the waters of Guanabara Bay outside Rio de Janeiro, an area which the government at the time said would recover after 10 years.

But today the once-green mangrove bay area only has thick black mud and no life left in the soil.

Al Jazeera's Gabriel Elizondo reports. (08 July, 2010)

And to make matters worse, journalism these days is run by the government itself. They use it daily to destroy those that get in their way (Palin, Paul and I could go on and on).

So, we are left to the likes of World Net Daily and The National Enquirer for exact and honest reporting. That is what our nation has come to when you view "reporting".

I think the above new law is for your common folk (cell phone camera) reporting and such.

Just from reading these articles on this page, you can tell that this part of the country is not going to recover any time soon. Get out of Dodge now and start finding a new job and place to live. Beat the crowd, don't wait around sitting on your thumb for the gov. to tell you to evacuate. The crowd will be so bad then, you won't be able to get anything done to help yourself and family. You will be part of the panicked sheeple and doomed.

Swamp Life
With only two interstates and very few other highways leading out of the state, a mass evacuation in a timely manner is next to impossible.

The truth - according to those who believe they know such - is that there's a number of low probability events that would cause a real stinking & deadly mess if they actually occur.

The gummint clowns are doing their usual ducking and hiding from these possibilities.

If you've never seen this video of an oil rig that drilled through the crust of a salt mine, it is horrific. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddlrGkeOzsI

I can't help wondering if they aren't concerned something like this could happen with the disaster now happening. Sure gives me the shudders and I just read that the salt caves or whatever you call them run half way up LA and MS.

Lake Peigneur
1. Canal flowing into Lake Peigneur sinkhole

2. Barges sucked into Lake Peigneur sinkhole

3. Fifty foot waterfall created by canal flowing into mine

4. Diagram showing Lake Peigneur over salt mine
Rig: Rig not known, owned by Wilson Brothers Corporation
Date: 20 November 1980
Location: Lake Peigneur, Louisiana
Operator: Texaco

Summary
On the morning of Thursday, 20th November 1980, a Wilson Brothers Corp. rig was drilling for Texaco in Lake Peigneur, Louisiana, which had an average water depth of 6 feet. Around 0430 hours Thursday morning, the drilling assembly became stuck around 1228 ft and could not be freed by jarring or working the pipe. By 0630, the drilling rig began to tilt so the crew abandoned the rig and headed for the shore due to fears that the rig was on unstable ground. Over the following hours, the crew and nearby residents watched in shock as the drilling rig collapsed and disappeared into the shallow lake.

The rig crew had been drilling a test well into deposits alongside a salt dome under Lake Peigneur. By some miscalculation, the assembly drilled into the third level of the nearby Diamond Crystal Salt Mine. The initial consequence was the stuck pipe, but fresh water from the lake soon began trickling into the salt mine. Over the course of the morning, the fresh lake water began dissolving the salt and enlarging the hole until water was literally flooding into the mine.

The mine itself consisted of a number of levels up to 1500 feet below the surface, with each tunnel around 100 feet wide and 80 feet high. Pillars of salt, which were left in place to support the ceiling of each level, were dissolved away by the fresh lake water causing the collapse of the salt above the mine. As the bottom of the lake fell away creating a vast sinkhole, a witness stated, "there was a huge noise like compressed air coming out of the mine. It was because the water was going into the mine faster than the air could get out. It created a geyser that went up 400 feet - spraying water and debris into the air." Fortunately, the men working in the mine managed to evacuate early with no loss of life, thanks in part to the early warnings of some of the mine employees.

The sinkhole grew so rapidly that a 50 foot waterfall formed where the Delcambre Canal reversed direction and flowed back into the newly formed crater. A large whirlpool formed in the lake, sucking down a second drilling rig, 11 barges and a tugboat. The tugboat at full throttle was unable to overcome the strong flow dragging it backwards down the canal into the sinkhole. After two days and an estimated 3.5 billion gallons of water draining in from the Gulf of Mexico, the lake refilled and stabilised. The lake that was once around 6 feet deep was now around 1300 feet deep, with the ecosystem radically altered by increased salt content.

Federal experts from the Mine Safety and Health Administration were not able to apportion blame due to confusion over whether Texaco was drilling in the wrong place or that the mine's maps were inaccurate. Of course, all evidence was lost.

The government is not working the cleanup, as we know they should or at least could. No help from outside and restrictions over various areas. That sounds like there is danger to anyone present in the area.

Everyone needs to help themselves, and IMHO if it is possible maybe the effort to move north, way north now, seems right. They are gambling on something down there and it does not seem they think they have a sure bet. But you can bet, you alone will save yourselves.

I'm not sure what I think at the moment, but I do have an 82 year old Uncle in the Tampa area. Our phone call the other night was a non starter. Yes, he is concerned about the situation. No, he has heard nothing of the dire alternatives being discussed on the internet. He claims to have witnessed no direct effects YET, but that does not mitigate his uneasy state of affairs at this time.

My two cents...it would be nice if the Fedgov started acting the part instead of playing politics. Screw Obama's so called legacy. Start worrying about possible impact on millions of citizens.

BP is obfuscating beyond belief.

One thing you can count on. When a Hurricane does come ashore and drives the oil and toxins inland, BP will claim it was an, “Act of God”, and will not pay any more claims. TT

I don't know anything about the truth, except to say, that I don't believe anything on the MSM anymore. Let the quiet voice within guide you. I pray for our gulf daily, and most especially for all the people who live there. I really do. I hope you all pray too, for there is nothing we alone can do, but I believe that the voices of all his children singing:
http://www.klove.com/music/song-lyrics.aspx?i=1319 (for sample)_it is great, I love it.!!!

It's the song of the redeemed
Rising from the African plain
It's the song of the forgiven
Drowning out the Amazon rain
The song of Asian believers
Filled with God's holy fire
It's every tribe, every tongue, every nation
A love song born of a grateful choir

(CHOURS)
It's all God's children singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah, He reigns
He reigns
It's all God's children singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah, He reigns
He reigns

Let it rise above the four winds
Caught up in the heavenly sound
Let praises echo from the towers of cathedrals
To the faithful gathered underground
Of all the songs sung from the dawn of creation
Some were meant to persist
Of all the bells rung from a thousand steeples
None rings truer than this

And all the powers of darkness
Tremble at what they've just heard
'Cause all the powers of darkness
Can't drown out a single word

(CHOURS)
When all God's children sing out
Glory, glory, hallelujah, He reigns
He reigns
All God's children sing out
Glory, glory, hallelujah, He reigns
He Reigns
All God's children sing out
Glory, glory, hallelujah, He reigns
He Reigns

When all our voices together proclaim allegience to our true heritage, in union, we shall prevail against the darkness, whose serpentine and incidious tentacles devour our truth and our lives.

It's all well and good to tell those of us that live on the gulf coast to just up and leave now....but that takes a lot of money and you need someplace to go and as I've said I have an elderly mother-in-law that requires health care. When it comes down to it I will need to take my chances and rely on God!!

Just how far north are you talking about? I live in the north eastern part of Ms. and I was wondering (worse case scenario) just how far a Tsunami would travel?
I also have a brother and sister that live in Mobile, Ala. I'm very concerned about them.

I second that---I've read lots of reports of just what could happen if the methane deposits under the Gulf begin explosively venting right up through the seafloor. With or without a 'true' explosion (i.e., one with fire, a compression / shock wave, etc.), I've read reports from varying sources that all say the same thing--a sublimation of even just a few feet, or even just a couple dozen feet, would be more than enough to get the waters a-rockin' and a-rollin' and bring in some sizable tsunamis.

But I've yet to read just HOW far in those tsunamis are predicted to go.

I seem to remember reading "worst-case" the wave could come ashore at 600 mph, but don't remember anything as to the "height" of the wave (again, may depend on the level of sublimation). Well---just how far inland could such a wave go? Five miles? Ten? A hundred? All the way up to the foothills of the Appalachians?

Would love it if someone can bring more light to bear on this.

The wave force causes greater height as the water comes into shallower water. That is to say the wave could be 10 feet in deep ocean water and be 200 feet high when it comes ashore. Speed can be even as much as a 1000 mph or more. I was looking for an impact calculator which is interactive to post. I have used it before.

I vote for option 3, a more terrifying disaster could be pending and that's why the admin has not been proactive. I have too thought it did not make any sense to mishandle the Gulf oil volcano the way that they have...

Listened to a Rense interview with Lindsey Williams a few days ago and he says his inside source said that fissures in the surface crust could leave us with a 30 year leak!

He also said that the actual pressure of the well is 40,000 PSI, which he stated is beyond any tech we have to control it. :shkr:

Sounds like it will be a quick death. At that speed, we may not even realize what hit us.

You know something, what you said about the salt cave between LA & MS (pretty much where the Mississipi River runs) reminds me of those old maps from the early to mid 90s where you have the country split into at that point. Anyone remember those? It shows the entire country split and the MS river is huge and has much of either side of the continent missing or underwater.

I am going to see if I can find those maps. They were called future maps of USA or something/or other.
