Killed in action the week before, the body of Staff Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City Georgia, just south of Atlanta, on June 11, 2009. The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough Georgia . A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time.

In these days of the ultra-liberal socialism that is being forced upon us, one can be led to believe that America no longer respects Honor and no longer honors the sacrifices of the men and women that make up our military. Be it known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total sacrifice. The liberal politicians, journalists, and Hollywood personalities that despise the military may have the loudest voices but they are not the majority, no matter what they would have you believe. The Nancy Pelosi’s, Barney Frank’s, Ted Kennedy’s, Harry Reid’s, and Barack Obama’s may have the platform now, but they cannot extinguish the patriotism that is the backbone of this country. Our President may want to apologize for America, but it just shows that he has never truly understood America.

Only watch this if you wish to have some of your faith in people and hope for our nation restored. The link below is a short travelogue of a remarkable and painful journey. There is no way that this Vietnam Era Veteran and father of an Army Sergeant can come up with the words to adequately explain the emotions that filled my heart and caused tears to well up in my eyes as I watched this video. Watch with pride and pray for God to send us a President like Ronald Reagan that understands what and Who made America a great Nation.

I am not embarrassed to admit, that the tears flowed very freely while watching that video. To see the thousands upon thousands of people who lined the processional route, to honor Sgt Beale on his last journey home, was awe inspiring. It fills me with hope, that we are NOT dead and buried just yet. Patriots of every background, every political party and every walk of life, will prevail!

Rest in Peace Sgt Beale :usfl:

We watched this video as a family.

My daughter said, "Dad, I have never seen you cry before."

I blubbered, "Freedom, Isn't Free. Men pay for it with their lives."
