She wins in Texas, we all win nationwide with what this'll then spark!

These interviews were done back in December, Medina has since done the
two debates she speaks of here and all agree she won both, and her poll
numbers have quadrupled since, while both opponents have lost ground!
Everytime more people hear her, they join in and support her campaign.

3 weeks to go before the primary here and she need only beat one of her
two opponents, which will be Senator KBH, to then next be in the run-off,
against Gov Perry, which will have more focus on her & time to beat him.

Check out her issues and support her, via getting word out nationwide, and
financially, too, if you can. This win against establishment RINO's in Texas
will be both historic and energizing to then be copied from coast-to-coast.

Don't you agree that you'd love to have your Governor sound like she does?
Support her now and that'll help unleash the same coming to your state, too!

If conservatives look at the issues she should win out right, but I agree that as she is heard the following grows. Vote Medina march 2nd, Texas Independence day.

I have been out of everything for several months but thanks to you all I got caught up on Medina. We are voting for her. Perry and Hutchinson have certainly heard the people are sick of the same old politics, yet both are running negative commercials. They also seem to be ignoring Medina, I hope we can send a message to the country that we the people are serious!

I wish we could clone her and have a clone in every state running for office! She sounds great!
A Medina win, here in Texas, the bastion of establishment RINO's, will spark and
energize the drive for the same coast-to-coast. IMO, No developing story has
more potential for eventually being seen by all as THE historical turning point for
our nation re-embracing the Constitution, more than a Medina win in Texas.

Help spread the word to all, and support financially, too, if you can, and you'll be
helping to clone and unleash that eventually happening in your own state, too!

I like her message, i really do... i like her stances, and i wish she had a leg to stand on...but i honestly dont think she will make it :( She comes across as very brash in some of her tv appearances, and i could easily see her rubbing people the wrong way... maybe she will open enough people's eyes to start us rolling the right way but i have extreme doubts that she will win

We Proudly Endorse Debra Medina for Governor

February 8th, 2010 by ljcurtis

Dear Members & Friends:

Independent Texans, the only voter association seeking representation and political rights for approximately 5 million non-aligned Texas voters, proudly endorses Debra Medina for Texas Governor in the Republican primary. Early voting begins February 16th. Mrs. Medina met the 60% support threshold of Independent Texans’ members to receive our endorsement. Congratulations to Debra Medina and her supporters!

Details below. Wanna talk about it?
Go here after you read about it below and please post a comment.

Linda Curtis, Independent Texans

Debra Medina for Governor

Independent Texans’ members are well aware of Governor Rick Perry’s record which is why he received not one vote of support from our members. Perry has become legendary for his abuses of power and the veto pen, his revolving door for lobbyists, and for poisoning the halls of the legislature with a redistricting gerrymander on steroids back in 2003. For Texas independents Perry is the embodiment of what is so wrong in government today. Rick Perry is such a problem for political independents that we have resorted to joking about it at BootPerry.org to make our point.

Kay Bailey Hutchison, who received about 30% support from our members, grasps our concerns about the Trans-Texas Corridor (TTC), but has not yet fully made the connection between such policy monstrosities as the TTC and political reform. Though the same might be said for Debra Medina, our endorsement of Mrs. Medina springs from the long-held desires of independent voters for citizen legislators. Debra is an ordinary person (a nurse to be exact) who has held her own in this race with two titans in Texas politics. She has demonstrated that she deserves our support.

What Independents Want – A United Front for Reform

Since 1992 when Ross Perot received the largest independent vote in US history, independent voters (now at 41% of the American electorate – Pew Research Center, May 2009) and our concerns, have grown. We are even sicker today of the partisan gamesmanship that keeps voters fighting amongst ourselves while the big shots in both parties have put the economy and our very livelihoods on the edge of a cliff.

We never liked Bush bashing and we don’t like Obama bashing either. We want the parties to either come together or get out of the way. We – Americans of all persuasions — want to be part of the conversation about fixing our problems before it is too late.

Once every ten years we, as a country, have an opportunity to damp down the partisan game immediately following the census. It is called redistricting. We can no longer afford to allow politicians to choose their own voters. We must take the gerrymandering weapon out of the hands of both parties, through a non-partisan independent redistricting commission. This is the single most important thing Texans need to bring any real policy solutions to the table. Is there a gubernatorial candidate out there who will stand up for a Texas Redistricting Commission? Rick Perry would never sign it. Would Kay? Debra Medina…our best hope. (Read more about political reform here.)

Medina coming on strong

Could the Republican primary for Governor in Texas end up in a runoff between Rick Perry...and Debra Medina? Medina is coming on strong and polls now at 24%, just four points behind Kay Bailey Hutchison's 28%. Perry continues to hold a double digit advantage at 39%.

Medina is clearly riding the wave of discontent with the Republican establishment. Among primary voters who disapprove of the job the GOP in Congress is doing she actually leads with 37% to 32% for Perry and 22% for Hutchison.
The problem for Medina is those folks only account for a third of the electorate and among the majority who are happy with the Republicans in Washington she's in a distant third at 17% to 48% for Perry and 27% for Hutchison. There may not end up being enough discontented Republican voters for her to move into the top two but she is nevertheless exceeding expectations.

Hutchison's issues are twofold: voters trust Washington politicians even less than usual right now and she's simply not connecting with the conservative voters who dominate a GOP primary electorate. Asked whether they have more faith in Washington politicians or Austin politicians to solve Texas' problems 78% said the state level ones to just 3% picking the national level. And while Hutchison has a commanding 49-29 lead over Perry with moderate voters, she is in last place with conservatives. Perry leads the pack at 42% followed by Medina at 25% and Hutchison at 23%. 76% of likely primary voters are conservatives to only 20% who are moderates.

Medina supporters say their second choice is Perry by a 43-39 margin over Hutchison, suggesting that if Perry does win by ten points but still end up in a runoff Hutchison's prospects for gaining ground on him are not that strong.

Hutchison actually has better approval numbers than Perry, pulling a 51/28 spread to his 50/36. But with Medina in the race the anti-Perry vote is splitting almost evenly with 46% going to Hutchison and 43% going to Medina. And in a huge shift from when PPP polled this race last February Perry is leading Hutchison 61-15 among voters who like both of them. A year ago Hutchison led 49-33 with those voters. At this point they seem to be sending a message that they'd like for both Perry and Hutchison to stay right where they are.

It'll be interesting to see if Medina continues to gain over these final three weeks- even getting to a runoff would have to be seen as a pretty big victory for the Tea Party crowd.

On the Democratic side Bill White leads with 49% to 19% for Farouk Shami and a total of 8% for the other five candidates.
___________________

The more Texans get to hear her, the higher she polls. She gets in the
run-off with Perry, knocking out a sitting Senator to do so, she will get
a whole lot more wider heard and another month to climb up past Perry.

She does this and this'll be much bigger news than Browns Mass win!

Digging into the details of that Public Policy poll, linked above, that was
released today showing Medina rising to 24% and KBH dropping to 28%...
http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/PPP_Release_TX_209.pdf
...there's this question that was asked about Medina favorability;

_____________________________________________

Q5 Do you have a favorable or unfavorable opinion
of Debra Medina?

Favorable........................................................ 40%
Unfavorable .................................................... 9%
Not Sure......................................................... 51%
______________________________________________

That tells me that she has a lot of room, with 51% 'Not Sure' yet, to bring
them over to her side, once they get a chance to hear her. (The 'Not Sure'
%'s for Perry and KBH were 14% and 20% respectively.) Medina winning
the run-off against a sitting Senator (KBH) will give her both that needed
attention and additional time to convert many of them. Exciting stuff here!

The Republic of Texas
Public Policy Polling Releases the Medina Factor Results
by Nelda Carrizales Skevington on Feb 09, 2010
WHARTON, TX Tuesday, February 9, 2010 – After surveying likely Republican primary voters from February 4th to 7th, a North Carolina-based Public Policy Polling (PPP) report shows Debra Medina is coming on strong.

According to the report, although Perry is at 39% to Kay Bailey Hutchison's 28%, Debra Medina is now at a whopping 24%! There are major splits within the race along ideological lines according to the poll results. Medina is now outpolling Hutchison with conservatives by a 25-23 margin.

"The big question for Debra Medina is whether there’s enough unhappy voters out there for her to get into a runoff with Rick Perry," said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling. “That would rank up there with the results of the Massachusetts Senate election as an early shocker in the 2010 political season."

The PPP states there’s no doubt Debra is riding the discontent with the political establishment. She actually leads the race, 37-32 over Perry, with the third of primary voters who disapprove of Washington politics.

"The report from Public Policy Polling is great news that validates the momentum we’ve been experiencing throughout this past month," says Debra Medina, Republican candidate for Governor of Texas. "Our campaign might be run on a shoestring budget, but it’s a case study for what We Texans are capable of accomplishing when we dig in and work. Texans are undoubtedly unhappy with the status quo and are recognizing that we can do better. We Texans are working hard all across the state to insure a brighter future for Texas."

Penny Langford Freeman, Medina's campaign manager noted, "Texans are smart. They see the fighting between Kay and Rick and know that they no longer have the people as their first priority. Debra speaks to the people with truth, respect and honor and Texans appreciate being able to support a real Texan at last!"
