When I heard that the local HS is close to shutting down, my first thought was H1N1. Turns out there's a handful of football players with MRSA. They announced at the school today if a few more get it, they are shutting down the school to completely disinfect it.
They just finished ripping out the grass at the stadium and putting in astroturf (not sure the correct term). I remember reading several years ago when MRSA went mainstream, about how players were 10 times more likely to get MRSA from fake turf than from real turf.
I'm putting a call into the school tomorrow to find out what they are doing in the mean time to disinfect the school.
I guess I need to go back and research treatments for MRSA. The only one I can remember now is manuka honey. I've been so focused on H1N1 that this kinda hit me from left field.
