A San Diego woman who identified herself as James Holmes' mother told ABC News she had awoken unaware of the shooting and had not yet been contacted by authorities. She immediately expressed concern that her son may have been involved.
"You have the right person," she said, apparently speaking on gut instinct. "I need to call the police... I need to fly out to Colorado."

He's being reported as white.
24 years old.
Reports indicate that he has no known connection to any terrorist organization.
He told police after being apprehended that there were explosives in his car, but none were found.

My thoughts exactly, but here in NC it is illegal for me to carry in a venue that you have to pay to get into, theaters, state fair, anything like that.
As I said before, IIRC neither handguns nor CCW is allowed in Denver (and Aurora is right up against Denver).

roll your eyes, but me and the Red Warrioress hired a babysitter exactly ONCE in our now 16 year old son's life....not coz we are cheap, but becoz WE DONT TRUST ANYBODY....we didnt want anybody left alone with our baby....go easy sis.

No. Babies do not belong in movie theaters. I've never seen one here, they probably would be asked to leave the second one started crying.
P.S. I hardly ever had a babysitter myself because I don't trust people.

That won't happen....at least not yet. Obama will not be able to pull off a successful Reichstag type event. This is a different situation than Germany pre WWII some similarities but Obama is not an Adolph Hitler, even if he would aspire to such. In order to do such a thing it would require the support and approval of most of the population. This would only happen after a series of events like this each one getting worse and building on the previous events. There is not enough law enforcement or enough military in the US to pull off such a thing against the will of the general population. They will have to swing most of the population over to their point of view and that would require a hell of a lot more carnage than what we've seen so far.
i agree with you, we didnt take our boy into a theater till maybe 2, and i'm glad we're kindred spirits as far as our babies go, my "baby" is making his Dad Jambalaya and Rib eye as we speak......i feel very f###ed up right now, grieving for innocents, wondering if this is something MORE than it appears....i just think of those dear people......why? and if its a phalsy phlag sit?....thats whats messing me up....if it is.......GOD HAVE MERCY on us.......just the fact that i would even THINK such an act is plausible is .......unbearable to my soul...unbearable.

I just don't know. Something does not ring right with me. Maybe it's all too fresh to have the details but why were the first responders asking for gas masks? They just played the police scanners and the guys in the field were literally screaming for gas masks. (Maybe I missed it earlier in the thread)

Here is what I am thinking...
If there is no accomplice to open, block or unlock that exit then perhaps this guy went to an earlier showing and rigged the exit.
Otherwise, if there is an accomplice, then what comes next?

I just read the CCW laws for Colorado---I don't see where CCW is prohibited in Denver or Aurora--only that magazines over 20 in Denver are prohibited. Perhaps the theater prohibits weapons but I can't see where they are banned--Dennis--where did you find that? (My Source Handgunlaw.us)

I have been watching this on TV since 2 AM and already the anti gun comments are being spewed. You can bet they will try to use this to place more restrictive laws on guns in the coming weeks, as always when a Dem is in the white house and a mass shooting occurs. Already I am seeing the idiots making anti gun comments on Facebook and YouTube.
I will never understand what drives someone to do this, I have been highly pissed off in my life at times and never thought "Oh I know, I will get a gun and shoot up a place"...
Honestly, part of me does wonder if this is not some kind of staged attack with the thought of banning guns in the future, as crazy as it sounds.

What the hell was a 3 month old doing at a movie theater at midnight? What kind of parents are they? It's good to know that this country is still all about greed (film companies - midnight showings) and narcissism. This country is nuts!!
