With a nod to JC Refuge, who developed and created this identical poll the first seventeen times, and to CfI for invaluable assistance, here we go again. The poll will remain up for five days. Your poll responses are private and cannot be viewed (except by me, I think...and I'll not disclose), but I encourage you to post your response and why you voted the way you did.

Right now, watching SoCal turn into Mordor, with headlines screaming

FIREFIGHTERS ADMIT DEFEAT TO UNSTOPPABLE FORCE

and watching the wealthiest portions of planet earth burn to smithereens,

I'd have to say my doom-o-meter is clanging way up on high orange and red.

I am just waiting for the next shoe t ofall, and fall it will, with SOCAL, in flames, and going down fast, the markets, and Israel, and the middle east, and OBL's tape coming out. hummmmmm, yes, I am waiting for the next shoe to fall, and it will, I think before to much longer. but i am prepped as best as i can be. I have seeds saved, so there is nothing else i can do. guns cleaned, ammo checked. yup, thats about it.

Watchful, ready, and checking. Made two prep top off runs this past weekend.

I'm not concerned about any particular subject, just that generalized, uncomfortable, razor edge sensation that suggests that all is not well.

A little bored on the prepping front as of late, I put down a bit concerned. No new wars/conflicts, no EQ's, fires way to the south that I should be going to, but my boss says they need me here.

Good news is DW and I had a great year in our business so we bought 4 new weapons, plus 2 more training classes to help our skills. Also more long-term foods and yet even more firewood.

Watching- keeping preps topped off.

So I voted mid range.

I am a little more concerned with all the pulmonary problems octogenarian as well as many others will suffer due to the fine fallout. It will find its way deep into unprotected lungs. During the 2003 fires I noticed similar problems with people far from the chaos yet in the ash fallout zone.

So much chaos and hardship for so many here in the Southern California Basin's.

1. Financial Collaps. Go too now you rich man, for you will weep and howl.
2. Dangerous Germs. Will kill many.

Watchful & Ready, or maybe it is more watchful than ready. This week I have been thinking it is all to much and I should take a vacation from worry/concern about things. Then when I get all relaxed and my mind unwinds and I am feeling somewhat mellow I log into TB2K and look at what all is happening and I grab the cat and go take a nap.

Worrying about things never did a thing to change them. All any of us can do is be prepped and if it hits, then we're ready. In the meantime enjoy life as it is.

being as watchful as i can, we've been blocked from ALL internet access at work, luckily my cell phone has net access but its cost a fortune so i try and keep it to a minimum, i've given the email address for my cell to a couple of trusted friends to email me of with a heads up if anything is going down, apart from that just praying & prepping,
oh i forgot i just had to do a NRA safety course to keep our fiirearms licencing authority happy, i've been shooting for 24yrs with no accidents and now they say i need a peice of paper to say i'm safe :shk:
at least i got to play with the new Sig P226 X5, 9mm :D

Watchful.......since 9/11/01. Sometimes the meter jumps up a peg or so, but not much.

I cant remember a time it has dropped back though.

"Water, water, everywhere,
And all the boards did shrink;
Water, water, everywhere,
Nor any drop to drink."

Drought, power outage and pollution!

Never is one too overly concerned about water.

What comes, is meant to be and what preps we have, will we be.

Taking the liberty to insert some data-based perspective ...

The average poll score was 1.87 for the previous 17 polls.

With 197 votes in this poll, the score is 1.95 ... so things are seeming to be just a scooch more stressful than normal. (The highest result previously recorded was 2.42 in September 2005.)

Well, I think you have pretty much hit the nail on the head. now factor in , the middle east, and the turks, and all that is going on.
this is causing many , stress, just prep and pray. not much you can do for either one. for sure.
I know I can do nothing about the financial one, except prep and be ready.
but the Germ one I can. i can top off, my preps, and check on my masks, and stay home. not get out among people, and be very careful not to get cut. IF I do, take care of it, pronto. that is about all we can do. this oil going so high, is going to cause great hard ship on this country. food is going to go sky high. People aren't going to be able to afford any extras, or for that matter, basics. Gas, getting back and forth to work, is going to be very expansive.
worst of all, gas, for heating , is going to go threw the roof. so will oil and propane. I am going to top mine off, tomorrow. for sure. going to get very expansive, for sure. this is going to add, even more stress, and in some states, like mine, [Michigan], it is already in sad shape.

We are in deep doo doo.

No worries whatsoever.

Feeling grand, just like I have been for the last several days. Which is really strange. Long periods of contentment are not something I'm prone to.

Come to think of it, I don't know if this has EVER happened before. It'll probably turn out that my neighborhood is being subjected to an experiment where they lace the water with Prozac...

Wait, can I change my vote?

Twenty-five hours out from the closing of this poll, the score stands at 1.91, down just a tad, but still above the overall average of all previous 17 polls.

One day left if you haven't voted yet.

Oops, my mistake. I read "PM" as "AM". Six more hours to vote left, and my last bump to catch the last of those wishing to vote. I'll post the final results immediately after the poll closes tonight.

The final score for this, the 18th Prepper Anxiety Poll was:

1.90

slightly higher than the overall average for all 17 previous polls of 1.87, but well below the high score of 2.42 in September 2005.

The poll did start out at 1.95 after a day or so, but slowly trended downward as it progressed through the five days.

Thanks to all for responding, and I'll crank this out again in a few months.
