I always vote "watchful, ready, and checking the preps, just in case. In my opinion, that is the definition of being prudent, regardless of the world scenario.

A bit concerned for me also.

I have been thinking lately...since 9-11 we have been "programed" daily by the media (I am not talking about us TB2Kers) that some new terrorist attack could happen at anytime. All the different scenerios that the media can come up with has been discussed.

If/when some horrific event happens...have the people of the US become so callosed to the fact, that we will simply be shocked for a couple days as well as sad for those that were affected...then go just resume our lives as if nothing happened?

Kinda like a "sucks to be them" sort of thing?

I'm cool.

Good job on the survey/stats!
I would love to see that someday for terrorist warnings, EQs and solar storms.

I agree with Trek, but want to add that I'm more concerned about the economy than terrorism. And I'm concerned about Russia, China, et al much more than the terrorists (who are ultimately backed by Russia, China, et al anyway).

I'm not concerned because I don't see any threats coming along anytime soon. Oh heck..... I don't know what to think.

Personally I voted being watchful and Ready but don't think much
will happen before Christmas and New Years. But after New Years
it could be a whole different story. Creator Bless!

I upped my anxiety level to glued to screen, etc. That is actually a little strong, but I just read the latest McIlvaney newsletter, first part of two, in which he goes into history of the Saudi connection and the different sects of Islam. Now, I don't believe everything I read; however what he writes and prints of other writers makes sense. I really don't expect anything in particular to happen right away, but guess I do expect something whatever and whenever that might be.

I will be prepping accordingly.

Bomb Shelter

Does this not belong in the Bomb Shelter? I have often wondered why some subjects are told to be directed there and not others.

This is a prep forum? Is this topic not suitable for the Main Forum? If so why?

I think it is!

Samson

Sorry if this is thread drift, but I never understood the rules on a prep site that preferred discussion of sewing issues above prep, danger, and what we can see coming.

Well, the winter doldrums seem to suit us nicely ... we are again plumbing new lows for the average anxiety level.

G'morning!

I used to always vote the same as you for exactly the same reason. Life is capricious and it is necessary to remain vigilant.

JC explained to me last time though, that if we vote for that we're *really*saying that on the ANXIETY scale we are half way to being worried sick. (That's not ver batum.) Since I don't feel that way at all, I selected no worries this time around.

I'm still "watchful and ready," but I'm not worried or anxious about anything - pretty much the way I've felt since this poll started.

FWIW - Jesse.

i put "no worries". things are rolling along smoothly as far as i'm concerned. that includes the abundance of threats that never seem to turn out. as far as i'm concerned, as long as they're threatening, they're not DOING.

Dennis, I am sure it is complicated. To manage a forum such as this must be ............um ..complicated. I am just exhaling! :D

Once I came to understand peak oil, I have been totally freaked out and in my bunker. I do come out of my bunker, but only to bring more preps in.

Basically, it isn't a matter of if but when, and there is no light at the end of the tunnel. The credit bubble is going to burst soon and people are gonna figure out that they have built their entire society on sand. The tide is coming in, faster than I expected it. And my ark isn't quite built yet. I might calm down after the first year that I raise everything that I eat. But until then, count me among the extreme paranoids.

Voted "watchful/ready" as always, for much the same reasons Trek posted. "Clouds of Evil" certainly seem to be gathering on the horizon physically and otherwise, so I am much closer to a solid "2" - or even maybe a "2.1" than I was last time I posted a comment of being a "1.5" - I've been taking more "prep-steps" lately. Not *worried* per se, but more ... pro-active.

As for links, "Puzzle Pieces I & II" in the 'Shelter. Other events, daughter and sil are heading for Kadena AFB, Okinawa, after the first of the year - you know, over there where the Japanese have been chasing Chinese war- and survey-ships out of Japanese territorial waters, inc. the waters around Okinawa. Lots of "little things" that don't amount to much on their own, too...

Voted watchful/ready. I haven't seen anything to either go less, nor to go more. Got to take time to live life as well as be prepped for the nasty surprises life can toss our way, (as well as evil people who can do the same).

Not really a good reason to lose sleep over it.

I've always checked the 3rd leval until this time . The last few weeks there have been much well thought out discussion on the economic front that has got my anxiety antenna turned up to high
Be well prepped and turn your surplus into PMs.

Best Regards,
GGK.
