[HEALTH/FLU] MASTER TONIC

I know this has been discussed here before, because this is where I found it ;)
However, with all of the newbees and all of the questions/concerens about home cures, I thought I would bring the subject up again.

I've been making and using this for about 2 years and it works! Hotter than Hades, but it will really clear your sinuses and helps break up flem in the lungs. It will also give you energy.

Do a search for Curing with Cyanne, DW and I have had good success with cyanne powder and now make my own along with the tincture. It really does work for wounds for starters and has many other uses.

I also have some word docs on cyanne if anyone is interested, however most is already linked or posted in the archives.

MASTER TONIC - A Natural Antibiotic

Raw Unfiltered Unbleached Non-distilled Apple Cider Vinegar

1 part fresh chopped garlic cloves

1 part fresh chopped White Onion (or hottest onions)

1 part fresh grated Ginger Root

1 part fresh grated Horseradish Root

1 part fresh chopped Cayenne Peppers

or the hottest peppers available, i.e. habanero, African Bird, or Scotch Bonnets, etc.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fill a glass jar 3/4 of the way full w/equal parts by volume (i.e. a cupful each) of the above fresh chopped and grated herbs. Then fill jar to the top with RAW, Unfiltered, unbleached, non-distilled apple cider vinegar. Close and shake vigorously and then top off the vinegar if necessary.

Shake at least once a day for two weeks, then filter the mixture through a clean piece of cotton (old T-shirt, etc.), bottle and label. Make sure that when you make this tonic that you shake it every time you walk by it, a minimum of once per day. Remember that all the herbs and vegetables should be fresh (and organically grown if possible) and use dried herbs only in an emergency.

This tonic is extremely powerful because all the ingredients are fresh. It's power should not be underestimated. This formula is a modern day plague tonic and when added to an incurable routine it can cure the most chronic conditions and stubborn diseases. it stimulates maximum blood circulation, while putting the best detoxifying herbs into the blood. This formula is not just for the sniffles, it has helped to turn around the deadliest infections like some of the new mutated killer viruses that defy conventional antibiotics.

The dosage is 1/2 to 1 ounce, two or more times daily (1-2 Tbs.). Gargle and swallow. (DON'T DILUTE with WATER.)

For ORDINARY infections, 1 dropper full taken 5-6 times a day will deal with most conditions. It can be used during pregnancies, is safe for children (use smaller doses and as a food is completely non-toxic. Make up plenty as it does NOT need refrigeration and LASTS INDEFINITELY WITHOUT ANY SPECIAL STORAGE CONDITIONS.

Ingredient properties:
-Garlic cloves (anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-parasitical)
-White Onion, or hottest onions available (similar properties to garlic)
-Ginger Root (increases circulation to the extremities)
-Horseradish Root (increases blood flow to the head)
-Cayenne Peppers, or the hottest peppers available, i.e. habanero, African Bird, -or Scotch Bonnets, etc. (a great blood stimulant).

Pro-biotic: antiviral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-parasitical.
(Comes from The University of Natural Healing: Dr. Richard Schultzs' adaption of Dr. Christophers' original anti-plague tonic).

So what do I do when I am allergic (severely) to some of the ingredients? Any sub for the vinegar? cayenne? BTW, ginger has the same capsicum in it as peppers do. Would I just double the amount? Thanks for the recipe.

I don't think there is any subsitute for the vineger (and it must be the raw unfiltered as I understand it). The ginger has other properties also. There are many other remedies out there that may not cause you problems. This is just another one that I have not seen talked about lately with all of the Asian flu discussions. Sorry, but I really don't have good answers for your questions as I am really a novice at this. However, I do know that this stuff works for me and if a person can tolerate this tonic, I would recomend it.

I wonder if it would work if I used rice wine vinegar to sub for the apple cider vinegar. I think I will go to the Oriental store and see if they have it in gallon jugs. The little 12 oz bottles are a bit spendy. I will make some without the cayenne and see if it helps. Let you know at a later date.

Cayenne CURES ulcers! Strange, but true.

That's what they claim. Here's a little info with some links.

DR. CHRISTOPHER ON HEALING WITH CAYENNE

Today's Newsletter will feature some of the many uses for cayenne pepper.
Dr. John Christopher's wisdom and experience will be mainly drawn upon. Dr. Christopher was a Master Herbalist and Naturopathic Doctor of great renown here in America and even abroad. His teachings wre learned by so many and his influence was so great, that most woould agree that he stood out amongst the three largest promoters of natural healing in the latter half of the 20th Century.
The following excerpts of his writings are reproduced with written permission of the Publisher, Christopher Publications, PO Box 412, Springville, UT 84663 1-800-372-8255.

CAYENNE

1. HEART ATTACKS: In 35 years of practice, and working with the people and teaching, I have never on house calls lost one heart attack patient and the reason is, whenever I go in--if they are still breathing--I pour down them a cup of cayenne tea (a teaspoon of cayenne in a cup of hot water, and within minutes they are up and around). This is one of the fastest acting aids we could ever give for the heart, because it feeds that heart immediately. Most hearts are suffering from malnutrition because of processed food we are eating, but here it gets a good powerful dose of real food and it's something that has brought people in time after time. This is something that everyone should know how great it is, because a heart attack can come to your friends or loved ones any time. And even yourself. The warm tea is faster working than tablets, capsules, cold tea, because the warm tea opens up the cell structure--makes it expand and accept the cayenne that much faster, and it goes directly to the heart, through the artery system, and feeds it in powerful food. [Dr. Christopher¹s Newsletter 1-12]

2. STERILIZE AND STOP BLEEDING: The old herbalists claimed that cayenne pepper (Capsicum or red pepper) should be poured directly into a fresh wound, to sterilize and stop the bleeding. [Herbal Home Health Care p.61]

3. MENSTRUAL CRAMPS: If a young woman has menstrual problems, she can suspect that her female organs might not be in good condition. Although it should be needless to say, we should avoid drugs in managing our menstrual cramps. In order to treat the symptoms, some people favor red raspberry tea, peppermint tea, camomile tea, or catnip tea. You can take a capsule of cayenne with any of these to help warm the internal organs. If the cramps are really severe, you can use cayenne ointment externally on the abdomen to act as a counter-irritant, but be sure to cover the application with gauze, as it can stain your underthings. [Every Woman's Herbal p.13]

5. TINCTURE OF CAYENNE heals wounds, cuts through mucus, good for sore throats, and tonsillitis; milder solutions can be used in the nose, eyes, and ears for cleaning up microscopic "lounge lizards" in infections. Has been successfullyused for resuscitation of newborn infants; a few drops administered orally. The best and safest stimulant known to man. [Dr. Christopher¹s Newsletter 3-2]

6. CAYENNE SALVE: It is excellent for stiff necks, sore muscles, headaches, pain, stiff joints, arthritis, etc. The salve ingredients are Olive Oil, African Birdpepper (Cayenne), Oil of Wintergreen, pure distilled mint crystals and beeswax. [Herbal Home Health Care p.196]
Dosages

1. STOP BLEEDING: A wound, external or internal, will stop bleeding if the individual will drink a cup of water (preferably hot) with a teaspoon of cayenne pepper (red pepper) stirred into it. The bleeding will stop generally by the time a person can count up to ten after drinking the cayenne tea. The cayenne equalizes the blood pressure from the top of the head to the feet. This keeps the pressure from the hemorrhage area so it will clot naturally, which it cannot do with heavy blood pressure pumping the blood rapidly at the hemorrhage area. [Herbal Home Health Care p.61]

2. NOSEBLEEDS: A teaspoon of cayenne in a cup of water (hot preferred) taken internally will stop most nosebleeds quickly. In an emergency such as this we use cayenne. As mentioned a teaspoon of cayenne pepper in a glass of water and drunk right down will stop a nosebleed in nearly every instance, by the time you can count to ten. This is not a miracle; it is the principle of the cell stimulant cayenne traveling through the entire blood stream and regulating the pressure so the pressure of the flow is the same in the feet as in the head or any other part of the body. This takes the heavy pressure off the hemorrhaging area and allowing a quick coagulation. [Herbal Home Health Care p.110]

3. SALVE: As needed topically.
Ingredients: Pure cayenne is the only ingredient in the powdered cayenne.
Salve ingredients are Olive Oil, African Birdpepper (Cayenne), Oil of Wintergreen, pure distilled mint crystals and beeswax.
The tincture consists of cayenne and alcohol.
[Spirit of Health Editor¹s note: See Herbal First Aid Salve and Muscle & Joint Repair Oil from Southern Botanicals. These contain the herbal ingredients of the Christopher salve. Herbal First Aid Salve has a beeswax base, and Muscle & Joint Repair Oil has an olive oil base and is stronger than the Salve.]
Testimonials

1. EYES: Cayenne is also used for eyes, however extreme that might sound. Dr. Christopher recalled a student of his standing in front of a lecture and throwing a pinch of cayenne into one eye. Dr. Christopher was sure the student had lost his senses! But in a few moments the eye stopped watering, and it became clear, bright and healthy-looking. [This is why Dr. Christopher has Cayenne in his Herbal Eyebright formula]. [Every Woman's Herbal p.131]

2. DEEP CUT: A person in our audience told how he had cut deeply with a sharp instrument the inside of his hand, fingers and palm. The blood spurted out in streams. He poured a large amount of cayenne pepper into the wound, and within seconds the blood flow slowed down to congealed dripping and the bleeding stopped entirely before many seconds had passed. With a goodly amount of cayenne covering the wound, he then wrapped it. He was so excited about the rapid results he could hardly wait for the regular herb meeting. But, as he said, the "punch line" was lost, because instead of a nasty ragged scar to show how severely he had been hurt, the area was healed and there was no scar. [Dr. Christopher¹s Newsletter 1-12]

3. ULCERS: A lady had been attending our herbal lecture series for some time.
One day she told us about her husband's severe case of stomach ulcers. The recommendation from their doctor was to have part of his stomach removed, but he said he would rather suffer the pain than risk such an operation. He also refused his wife's suggestion to try cayenne, ridiculing her studies. When he would see me in town, he would bellow, "Hello, Doc! Killed anybody with cayenne, today?" He became so obnoxious, I avoided him when I could. Months went by and one day I saw him coming down the street toward me. I tried to avoid him but he came "head on." This time I was amazed because there were no cutting remarks or sarcasm. In fact, he was very apologetic and asked if he could talk to me for a minute, and then told me this story: He had come home from work one night, "sick enough to die," with stomach ulcers. His wife was not home. He was in such pain he wanted to commit suicide. He went to the medicine cabinet to find some kind of medicine poisonous and deadly enough to kill him. But he discovered his wife had thrown out all the old bottles of pharmaceutical medicine. All that was left in the medicine cabinet were some herbs and a large container of cayenne pepper. He was so angry that, upon seeing the cayenne, he figured it in a large dose would kill him by burning him up. He took a heaping tablespoon of cayenne in a glass of hot water, gulped it down and rushed into the bedroom. He fell upon the bed and covered his head with a pillow so the neighbors couldn't hear his "dying screams." The next thing he knew, his wife was shaking him awake the next morning. She told him he had slept all night (instead of being up every half-hour for anti-acid tablets). To his amazement he discovered that the pain was gone, for the first time in months. He continued using cayenne three times a day faithfully. [Dr. Christopher¹s Newsletter 1-12]

4. BLOOD PRESSURE - Dr. Christopher's Own Story: I had hardening of the arteries, during my 20 and 30 year span, to a point that it was very severe. No insurance company at this time, would even take me for a $1,000 policy. So you can tell how bad of a condition I was in. I was quite concerned about it, and started using cayenne. I worked up to a teaspoon three times a day, and I continued on from the time I was thirty-five and am still using it. It was amazing! By the time I was forty-five years of age, ten years after I had started using cayenne, a group wanted me to have a $100,000 policy to insure them on a business deal we were working out. I went for the examination. Being this large a policy, the insurance company required two medical doctors, each to give two physicals at various times (being four times to have physicals with these two doctors). I took the examination and one medical doctor when he got through, said, "Well, this is astounding. I see your age is forty-five years, but you have the venous structure of a teenage boy." He said, "This is excellent," and he gave me a clean bill of health. I went to the other doctor and on his second examination he did the blood pressure test on my arm. He pumped his equipment up five different times and my arm was getting irritated by it, and I was getting a little perturbed, and I said, "What's the matter, doesn't your equipment work?" "Oh yes, it always has up till now, but I keep looking at your chart and it says you are 45 years of age and yet your systolic over your diastolic is absolutely perfect. I cannot comprehend it." I said, "That's correct. It is perfect." And he also gave me a clean bill of health. So I passed at 45 years of age for a $100,000 policy with a good blood pressure showing, thanks to the cayenne.
I have been told by medical doctors, that because of my arthritis, hardening of arteries, stomach ulcers and some auto accidents that banged me up pretty badly, that I couldn't live past my 40th year. Yet, at 45 years I was pronounced in good condition. This, to me, was one of my biggest sales points on cayenne. If it could help me, it could help anybody. I have seen it used so many times over the years with such success, that I feel that it is one of our great herbs. [Dr. Christopher¹s Newsletter 1-12]

Doesn't matter Swampy, use equal part of the dry ingredients, and then find a jar that they'll occupy 3/4's of... or, if you've got a jar you want to use, reverse engineer the formula to figure out which "equal part" you need to use to fill it 3/4's of the way full... ahalf cup of each, or a quarter cup of each, or 8/10's of a cup of each... whatever it takes.

Swampthing, I would guess that more like a 1/4 to 1/3 cup of each ingredient would come closer to the recipe for a quart jar. Check it out using water and see what you get.

I use a heaping packed cup of each herb in a half gallon mason jar. That will take a pint or more of the vinegar, IIRC. The amount doesn't really matter, just that there should be equal parts of the ingredents.

How do you get your family to drink this concoction? I just tried the cayenne tea on DH. He took one sip and almost died. His stomach and throat burns and he told me he would rather die than drink the rest. Now what?

hold a gun to his head.

it eases up with each sip. I've got my DW use to it and she never could take medium salsa. I take it dry with no chaser. It's not as hot that way. Liquids make it hotter. If all else fails, you can buy cayenne pepper in capsuls.

Every member of my house when they have walked in has said "dad what smells so good, did you fix something special for dinner" right down to my 8yo daughter who only eats frosted flakes, bread, and soft taco's meat and cheese only.

Original Dr Christopher's anti-plague formula

Dr. Christopher’s Anti-Plague Formula

Ingredients:

4 ounces Black walnut concentrate
4 ounces Wormwood concentrate
4 ounces Marshmallow root concentrate
4 ounces Oak bark concentrate
4 ounces Lobelia leaf or seed concentrate
4 ounces Mullein leaf concentrate
4 ounces Skullcap leaf concentrate
4 ounces Uva Ursi, Hydrangea or Gravel root concentrate
8 ounces Comfrey concentrate
32 ounces Apple cider vinegar
20 ounces Glycerine
20 ounces Honey (raw unfiltered and local is best)
8 ounces Garlic juice (fresh, raw, organic)

Preparations:

Each concentrate should be made individually. Start by soaking each herb for four hours or more in enough distilled water to cover them. After soaking, add more distilled water so that the total added water equals 16 oz. water per 4 oz of herbs.

After adding the appropriate amount of distilled water to the soaked herbs, simmer on a very low heat in a covered saucepan or double boiler for 30 minutes. Strain this decoction and place into an uncovered clean pan or uncovered double boiler and simmer it down to ¼ the original amount, in other words, to 4 oz.

Each concentrate should be made separately and then only mixed when the entire formula is blended together. Using the amounts in this handout 120 ounces (approximately one gallon) will be made. If you desire to make less, just reduce all the proportions equally;

To make an eighth ounce of garlic juice takes one full pound of fresh garlic. Fresh garlic juice is extremely potent. Use gloves when handling as it can burn the skin. WORD OF ADVICE: I have found that it doesn’t require all that much garlic if you put the pulp in a jelly bag and leave overnight. Yes you may want to leave the house too but I am talking about leaving the garlic to set over night. A surprising amount of juice runs out.

Store in dark colored jars. (Prune juice jars work fine) In a cool place. Shelf life 10 plus yrs.

Dossage: 1 teaspoon three times a day up to 1 Tablespoon every ½ hour depending on the condition of the person.

I get my herbs in bulk from Herbplenty.net. I have made and used this. It really works. But it taste :kk1: ;)

Apple Cider Vinegar

I am sure we have all heard the old saying , “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” This could well have a lot of merit. Apples are among the most health-giving fruits available to us. They contain a host of beneficial vitamins and minerals, such as phosphorous, potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, and many trace elements as well. And, they are the central ingredient in apple cider vinegar.

Cider vinegar is a powerful detoxifying and purifying agent. It breaks down fatty, mucous and phlegm deposits within the body. By breaking down these substances it improves the health and function of the vital organs of the body, such as the kidneys, bladder and liver, by preventing excessively alkaline urine. It also oxidizes and thins the blood, which is important in preventing high blood pressure. This powerful potion also promotes digestion, assimilation and elimination, all the while neutralizing any toxic substances that enter the body. Cider vinegar has been found to neutralize any harmful bacteria that may be found in certain foods. When a mixture of cider vinegar and water is taken before a meal (particularly food served in restaurants or at picnics where the preparation or duration of food left uncovered and not refrigerated is questionable), it seems to prevent diarrhea or digestive upsets.

Apple cider vinegar contains a potent supply of potassium which researchers feel is helpful in easing the effects of common colds and allergies, including mucous formation, watery eyes, sinus and catarrhal problems. Cider vinegar can also be beneficial for symptoms such as tooth decay and splitting of the fingernails, which are symptoms of potassium deficiency. Potassium is essential for the replacement of worn-out tissues within the body. This mineral is also important to soft tissue repair, as calcium is to the bones and teeth. A deficiency of potassium within the body can produce callous formations on the souls of the feet, insufficient replacement of worn tissue, and hair loss.

Tests have proven that soil deficient in potassium will produce anemic and undersized plants, but when potassium is introduced into the soil, the plant becomes healthier and increases in size. When potassium, in the form of cider vinegar is fed to livestock their appearance improves and their stamina increases. This can also prove true on a human level for those who have potassium deficiency. A few teaspoons of cider vinegar taken with water each day has been known to produce amazing results. Cider vinegar can be taken alone or used in cooking. It can be used as a salad dressing, for pickling, in making mayonnaise or sprinkled on potato chips or French fries. It can used as a hot or cold beverage sweetened with honey. The best method of using apple cider vinegar is in its natural liquid form.

When the body is lacking certain minerals or salts, ill health can be the result. Toxic build-ups with the body can cause boils, blisters, acne, etc. Cider vinegar detoxifies and helps with the cleansing and clotting processes of the blood, by helping along the blood oxidation process.

Cider vinegar is thought to be beneficial in the treatment of arthritis, as a beverage or with compresses soaked in hot vinegar applied directly to the joints. It is also thought to be helpful when used to treat asthma, nose bleeds, osteoporosis, cancer, candida, high cholesterol, colds, constipation, muscle cramps, colitis, diabetes, diarrhea, depression, dizziness, ear discharge, eczema, fatigue, gallstones, kidney stones, hay fever, headaches, heartburn, hiccups, indigestion, insomnia, kidney and bladder problems, metabolism, nasal congestion, sore throats, stiff joints, ulcers and weight loss.

Please check with your physician before starting any new treatments, including dietary changes. Alternative or holistic health procedures are meant to be complimentary process to traditional medical practices, and not used in place of them.

I cheated; I didn't read all the responses here so I probably missed the answer to my question. But if I just eat the ingredients raw, do I have to have the apple cider? Well, at least the garlic, the onion, and the peppers(cayennes). I consider these as staples in my everyday food preparations. I'm so used to eating the peppers, they no longer burn. They actually have a flavor very similar to bell peppers.

I can see why your mixture would work. IMHO Apple Cider Vinegar is one of the healthiest things you could put into your body. My Mom always took 2 TSP with three ounces of water everyday and never got the flu or cold. Cayenne is one of the best things to detoxify your body with. I think I will print out your post and make a batch for my family. Thank you for sharing this with us, it may indeed be the only thing that will combat the bird flu when it hits.

Can dehydrated cayenne peppers be used? I cannot find the fresh. I live in the wilderness and all the closest towns are about 30 miles away. I have tried a coop and they don't have it and I have tried all the grocery stores and they don't have it. There just isn't enough people in my part of the country for stores to carry such items.

I called one of our local international markets today and asked if they carried "horseradish root". As it turned our the produce manager told me they had just gotten a batch in today and it was really fresh.....so, tomorrow I am off to get it. I have never tasted horseradish root. I imagine though that it is quite hot.

HERBMOUNTAIN which one of the two formulas are you referring to in particular?
