It is coming faster than can be imagined. These lyrics from a song by the group Megadeth keep coming to mind. Too may concessions are being made around the world in the name of religious freedoms. I read that in the UK they may be digging up thousands of graves to create a new muslim cemetary. The world has gone mad. What is the point to which you will no longer tolerate actions in the name of ones God against others?

Did you know that when NATO turned over both Bosnia
and Kosovo to the Muslims, Orthodox Christians exhumed
the bodies of their relatives to take them with them to
Christian Serbia... can you guess why ?

Dragica Besovic and her sister-in-law were back in Kosovo last week on a sad and macabre mission: to dig up their dead relatives and rebury them by her new home in Serbia.

Besovic had fled Kosovo in 1999. Fear drove the 77-year-old Serb away, but it also drew her back -- fear that if the mostly ethnic Albanian province gains independence as expected later this year, Serb-haters will unearth her relatives' remains and scatter the bones.

Dozens of Serb families are exhuming their dead, reflecting the deep mistrust and unhealed scars of war that bedevil Western efforts to forge a multiethnic society in Kosovo.

"I came into the world here, and this is where I aged," Besovic said, choking back tears as gravediggers in white overalls dug up her husband, Milivoje, who died nine years ago.

"What else am I supposed to do?" she asked.

The question takes on added urgency tomorrow, when the UN Security Council is expected to review a proposal to grant Kosovo internationally supervised independence -- a plan bitterly opposed by Serbia, which regards the province as the cradle of its nationhood.

Most of Kosovo's Serbs fled after NATO bombing stopped Yugoslavian president Slobodan Milosevic's brutal 1998 to 1999 crackdown on separatists. An estimated 10,000 ethnic Albanians were killed, more than 1 million lost their homes and 2,000 are still missing.

When the war ended, some Albanians sought to avenge their dead by targeting Serbs. About 200,000 Serbs and other minorities fled, and only about 100,000 remain, most in isolated enclaves.

Besovic's sister-in-law is Dusanka Ivanovic, 60. She was here to exhume her brother -- Besovic's husband -- along with her father and uncle. The two women watched as the remains were stuffed into white plastic bags, sealed into coffins and loaded into a van for the 225km journey to Kraljevo, Serbia.

Although the Security Council is divided over the Kosovo blueprint -- backed by the US and the EU but opposed by Russia -- many Serbs appear resigned to the province becoming independent.

In the western Kosovo town of Pec, the Serbs are gone and the rundown Serbian Orthodox cemetery reflects the contempt the ethnic Albanians feel toward their former rulers.

Some Serb graves have been desecrated. Jagged chunks of black and white tombstone marble and blobs of old candle wax lie among the pine needles.

But despite rumors in Serbia that brought the two women back to the graveyard, there is no sign of large-scale desecration. Similar rumors sparked a brief rush to exhume Serbian bodies in Bosnia after its war ended in 1995, and it was not uncommon to see refugees transporting coffins in ragtag convoys.

In Pec, Besovic and Ivanovic wept at seeing the broken tombstones, but expressed relief that the graves themselves were intact and the bones undisturbed.

Ivanovic thinks it's a shame that Serbs are demonized for the misery that Milosevic inflicted on Kosovo.

"Ordinary people are never guilty," she said.

Ivanovic left Kosovo 35 years ago, and the newly emptied graves sever her last family link with the province.

HUNDREDS of thousands of bodies could be exhumed as part of a Tower Hamlets
council idea to re-open a disused cemetery as a "multi-faith" burial ground.

The Town Hall is considering re-opening famous Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park
to solve a long running campaign for a local Muslim burial site.

Huh? What's the difference between killing someone because he has a different religion, and killing someone because he has a different economy, or political system? This is teenage angst crapola.

Anger over plan to dig up 350,000 bodies
in historic London cemetery for Muslim burial site

It is a peaceful resting place for 350,000 souls - an historic graveyard which now serves as a nature reserve.

But plans are afoot to dig up the ancient graves at Tower Hamlets Cemetery - and reopen it as a 21st century burial site.

Officially it would be known as a "multi-faith" cemetery but it is likely that it would principally answer calls for a Muslim graveyard in the largely-Asian East London borough. :mad:

The local newspaper has been bombarded with letters from historians and nature lovers declaring: "There is no way we'll allow them to dig up our ancestors."

But the Labour-controlled council's environment spokesman Abdal Ullah appeared to be in no doubt about the feasibility of the plan when he said: "To preserve the respect and dignity for everyone, I think most of the graves would have to be cleared out and we'd start afresh."

He said a corner of the cemetery would be reserved for Muslims who are buried in shrouds at a depth of 6ft and on their side facing Mecca.

By law, any graves more than 75 years old can be removed.

At the cemetery yesterday, liaison officer Ken Greenway - the only paid member of staff tending the 33-acre site - said he was astonished that anyone would even contemplate such a move.

"I'm against it and I have to stand up for that because of the huge value of this site today," he added.

"It's a beautiful haven for wildlife and people."

The City of London and Tower Hamlets Cemetery was opened in 1841 by an Act of Parliament.

I already don't tolerate it. I don't tolerate these grave sites being disturbed. I don't tolerate people killed because of films they produce, books they write, or comic strips they run. I don't tolerate abortion clinics being blown up. I don't tolerate gays being beaten. I don't tolerate books being yanked out of libraries because the story involves a school for wizards. I don't tolerate people going to the polls to restrict the right to an abortion or to institutionalize discrimination against gays.

It all sickens me, and it all sickens me equally because the motivation and the intent is always the same - to force others to live according to your own religious beliefs.

Thomas Paine principally wrote into the US Constitution of the separation of Church and State. This should extend to all places of worship.

I am not anti religion so please hold on for a sec.

Take a step back and realise there is a coming to heads of religions but it's not down to the Armageddon philosophy or the Four Horsemen or whatever the Jewish and Muslim equivalents are - believe what you need to in your hearts but understand some of us have "grown out of it" for the need of a better phrase. Humanity must live outside the bubble that is Earth one day - what are we gonna do in 2000 years? We might have evolved to the point where we can communicate telepathically, we'll probably be able to eridicate all diseases either genetically or through other means, we'll probably be so far advanced compared to today that we won't even recognise ourselves. There will be factors in our society that seem godlike to ourselves today.

A lotta probablies and a lotta fuel that could offend, not my intention, but we gotta allow for progress, and true progress is the maturity to account for and accomodate other ways of thinking and belief. We can't stay here forever cos we know the planet is ****ed.

This is all taking for granted that we're all still here and we haven't allowed our differences to climax in the destruction of our entire race.

be careful of what you wish for,

to me it seems that officials are going out of their way to condone muslim religion into the west - to the outrage of the majority Christian populations.

the fishy thing about this is almost like a deliberate poke in the eye, designed to create an anti-moslem backlash with intent to setup some kind of anti-religion leglislation.

So when people are fed up enough to support laws to limit religious freedom, they unknowingly pass laws that restrict their own Christian religious freedoms.

very similar to the anti-gun laws that get passed after some latest round of school shootings. People accept them with good intent - not knowing they have just allowed more Govt control over them.

So I think it is crazy about all the Jihadi stuff coming into the west, but be very careful on what things you acccept in order to keep a lid on it.
