    Howdy, Folks!

    Everyone - relax.

    1. We are in incredibly capable hands; Thank You, Dennis.

    2. I believe this is the 3rd iteration of software setups since this:

    And...we're still here.

    It'll be fine.

Donald, I was just thinking about that this morning. The progression was (IIRC)

    Greenspun
    EZ-Board
    vB 2
    vB 3
    vB 4
    XF

But I think the vB's count as a single entity.

    Let the adventure begin!!

Last time I was "involved" in a server change before Christmas was with Discover. Apparently during the change there were a number of accounts that were compromised...mine being one of them. So they cancelled my card and issued me another with a different number. Which seemed appropriate until I started getting e-mails from all the companies that I had shopped with saying my order was either cancelled or held up because my card was denied!!!! This was two weeks before Christmas...super busy online shopping day! Who the heck decides to do something like that then??? Well, Discover and apparently TB! Hope this goes waaaay better than the great Discover Christmas debacle.

Yup - I was counting the vB iterations as a single entity.

That said - wasn't there something in between EZ-Board and vB, for a very brief time?

Yeah, but it didn’t use a database. Everything was flat files. It died after a week. I think it might have been an early version of phpBB.

I checked my e-mail and nothing and I just found out my iMac operating system is to out dated for any of the newer browsers.

So I need to upgrade my memory to 4 gigabyte and have no idea what it will cost for the newist Apple Mac operating system. So it may be weeks or months before you hear from me again.

Its a lot easier for you guys in the USA-Canada region...........I'm still trying to get my head around the times quoted, after all, we are a day ahead of you down under!

Change is a bitch, but we all do it, because we have to...........and we survived so far in life!

Take several deep breaths, have a bottle of something that is cold and puts you into a relaxed mood and who knows, we might survive this change (eventually)

I think we're just 'in the process' of crossing over. As I understand, it was supposed to start at 4:00PM...and any and all that's posted here now will not get moved to the new board...when the trip is completed.

Depending on how old your iMac is, it may not be able to run the current version of the Mac OS at all. You should check into that before spending the money to upgrade to 4GB of memory. Also, Apple generally does not charge for OS upgrades. If your iMac is capable of running a newer version it can be downloaded for free.

What year was your iMac new?

Here is a link to the Mac OS compatibility chart based on the year your iMac was built.

What is on the new board right now gets wiped and replaced, correct? I am concerned because the long Soros thread now on ALT did not appear to make it over to the current new board iteration.
