Catholic Bishops Endorse Gun Control Manifesto

    https://bigleaguepolitics.com/us-cat...rol-manifesto/

America’s Catholic Bishops made a strong endorsement of gun control during their yearly Fall General Assembly this week in Baltimore.

The bishops endorsed wide-ranging restrictions on American gun ownership, such as “assault weapons” bans, magazine capacity restrictions, and “limitations on handguns.” A graphic of the endorsed proposals surfaced online.

The bishops face the risk of alienating their gun-owning parishioners by pushing a gun control agenda. Many practicing American Catholics own guns.

Bishop Frank Dewayne of Venice, Florida spearheaded the push for gun control. Some of the prominent liberals within the American Catholic hierarchy have gone even further in calling for gun restrictions on American citizens.

The USCCB (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops) earlier endorsed a prospective “assault weapons” ban after the 2017 Las Vegas shooting. The bishops endorsed the 1994 ban put in place by philanderer Bill Clinton, that studies show failed to significantly deter gun violence in America.

The Vatican maintains a highly-trained and armed professional security service, a luxury that leading American clergy seem unwilling to permit for everyday American citizens. In fact, the Vatican City Gendarmerie is equipped with submachine guns largely out of the legal reach of American gun owners.

As American Catholic leaders make wide-ranging forays into secular political issues, the Church in America faces serious challenges. Almost half of American adults raised in Catholicism go on to leave the religion.

Catholics need bishops laser-focused on their pastoral duties and administering the sacraments to souls in an era where the Church faces a plethora of major crises, such as clerical sex abuse and a lack of clarity on fundamental doctrine from the Vatican. It’s simply not the place of the bishops to agitate against American gun rights.

I firmly believe that today’s Catholic leadership is absolutely evil.

Couldn't think much less of Catholics anyway.

I don’t think anything about rank-and-file Catholics. But the church leadership is firmly apostate.

This coming from the group that has been packing the country with immigrants from the 3rd world and whose leader is known as red francis. I am shocked.
Matthew 13:49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, and shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

And just another reason I was "raised Catholic" but haven't been to Mass in decades.

Well the few Catholic J6P's I have spoken with don't feel that way, and are sadly disappointed with the apostate leaders of their faith.

Perhaps another falling away from that group is on the horizon.

Personally my answer is the same as for any would be tyrant victim disarmament advocates:

    Molon Labe bitches.

Be aware I'll shoot back, and I seldom miss my target.

Well, the Lord Jesus Himself said that He would set father against son, and mother against daughter.

There’s no human denomination or group that hasn’t been divided - down to very families. The dividing line is Light vs Darkness

“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person's enemies will be those of his own household. Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.“ Matthew 10:34-37

Mass is not the problem, and never was.

The church leadership has pretty much ALWAYS been firmly apostate. Just ask Luther.

I, and I'm sure others here, lament the death of journalism.

The problem we face today is more insidious than simple "fake news." Take the OP as an example. Of the 8 paragraphs, only paragraph 1, 2, 4, and 5 are legitimate news reporting. Paragraph 3, 6 and 7 show some "slant" or bias, while the final paragraph is blatant editorializing that is downright shameful in an article that presents itself as news.

The unwitting reader assimilates that concluding paragraph as "informational" without realizing he or she is being propagandized. The question isn't whether one agrees or disagrees with the opinion expressed in that concluding paragraph. The question is whether news reporting should allow the reader to form his or her own opinions rather than telling him or her what to think.

    Journalism has died.
