Extreme Cold Weather Coming Next Week

    here is the link

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...es/2518984001/

Next week's Arctic blast will be so cold, forecasters expect it to break 170 records across US
    Doyle Rice
    USA TODAY

This week's cold snap is only an appetizer compared with the main Arctic blast that's coming next week, meteorologists said. That freeze could be one for the record books.

"The National Weather Service is forecasting 170 potential daily record cold high temperatures Monday to Wednesday,” tweeted Weather Channel meteorologist Jonathan Erdman. "A little taste of January in November."

The temperature nosedive will be a three-day process as a cold front charges across the central and eastern U.S. from Sunday into Tuesday.

The front will plunge quickly through the northern Plains and upper Midwest Sunday, into the southern Plains and Ohio Valley Monday, then through most of the East Coast and Deep South by Tuesday, the Weather Channel said.

Yes....was just looking at the forecast for the next week. We have lows between 15 and 23 degrees F. Pretty darned cold for early November. Glad we got the HVAC stuff squared away last week. Had to add air to the vehicle tires last few days. Seems like winter is upon us.

It was 7 degrees here when I got to work yesterday morning. No wind though, which makes all the difference.

Rather balmy, in a Minnesota kind of way.
    This might hurt a little.

We get part of that cold blast tonight, it warms up Sunday then drops into highs in the 30's next week and stays there. Gaithersburg, MD had snow flurries this afternoon!

Just think, the DC swamp is going to freeze over.

Been digging out the cold weather gear; I work outside so I am SO not looking forward to winter.

Hey, what happened to global warming?

Where I'm at we had it good so far and last night was our coldest this year at 31F to 30F and tonight their telling us it's going down to 24F and we're already down to 30F.
All day was cold in the upper 30s so I was feeding the wood stove sparingly and even getting some snowfall on and off all day but very lite and ground is to warm for it stick even if it was coming down faster.

Central PA will be the coldest on Wednesday with a low in the upper teens and a high in the low 30's. There will be spits of snow tonight and Tuesday with temps the other days in the low 20's and the highs in the low 40's.

    Freezing Out the Somalis?

Hmm, so gang since Obama the Muslim Traitor sent tens of thousands of Somalis to both Minnesota and Maine for God's sake, do you think this will freeze them out like with insects?

"Incredibly Harsh Arctic Airmass" Set To Plunge Half Of US Into Record Cold
Profile picture for user Tyler Durden
    by Tyler Durden
    Fri, 11/08/2019 - 18:05

Earlier this week, Ed Vallee, head meteorologist at Empire Weather, said several blasts of Arctic air would roll into the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions this week and early next week.

The first round of cold air has arrived, and it's absolutely freezing in the Northeast.

Vallee said the first round of cold air is an appetizer for what's to come early next week. He noted in his forecast below that, temperatures across the Midwest and Northeast could be on "average 20-30°F below normal."

"A very cold air mass will penetrate the Midwest and Northeast U.S. into early next week. As a strong cold front moves through the Plains and Midwest Monday into Tuesday, temperatures will average 20-30°F below normal, leading to potential record cold high temperatures only in the 10s and 20s.

The cold will move into the eastern U.S., including the major cities in the Northeast by Wednesday and Thursday. High temperatures in New York City may fail to escape the 30s Wednesday. Temperatures into the 8-14 day continue to favor colder than normal temperatures in the eastern U.S," Vallee stated.

The second wave of Arctic air is expected to move through the northern Plains and upper Midwest Sunday, into the southern Plains and Ohio Valley Monday, then into the East Coast by Tuesday.

High temperatures on Monday could be in the teens for much of the Midwest and areas around the Great Lakes.

Vallee said daily high temperatures for some regions in the Midwest to the East Coast could set cold records on Monday through Wednesday.

By Tuesday, Arctic air will reach the Northeast, and could send temperatures plunging in the Deep South to the 30s

Vallee warned that a winter storm could develop across the central Plains early next week, which would likely paralyze major highways and disrupt trucking routes. He added that eastern and even southern regions of the country could see some form of wintery precipitation by next Wednesday.

    WTH is going on?

Can't remember ever having two snowfalls totaling six inches in Late October and Early November. Much of that is still on the ground and hasn't melted right away like it usually does this time of year.

Hell, some of the leaves are still on the trees. I have no idea when or if we will be able to get them off of the yard.

Plus the high's have been barely over freezing for a short time each day. Last night it got down to 15F.

The benchmark for a long winter here (SE WI) has always been Thanksgiving. Snow and cold before that is rather rare and it never has persisted like it has now.

Now that the jet stream has dipped so far south, and stayed there, I am doubting it will change much.

I was telling Nightwolf I actually saw some civil defense/first responder person reading off a teleprompter who managed to say with a totally serious face:

"Due to Global Warming, we are going to be in for some really bitterly cold Winters over the next couple of years"

I thought either the guy was totally brain dead or he was so nervous he just kept on reading without realizing what he had just been made to say.

If it has been me, I'm afraid I'd have either burst out laughing after I said it or just rolled my eyes and let the audience do the laughter for me.

Some statements just deserve to be mocked lol

(and yeah, I know that during Solar Minimums you can get shorter but hotter Summers along with longer and much colder Winters, the Short Hot Summers can give the illusion of over-all warming but the planting and harvest periods are both later and shorter).

"They" have been manipulating the words for some time now, Melodi. First it was "global warming," which when "they" got busted with the fake emails, was changed to "climate change," although "they" still kept the global warming intent, even as they changed the words. Now they are trying to figure out how to deal with a Grand Solar Minimum that results in extreme cold weather, increases in glacier ice, etc So "they" trotted out the Swedish teeny bopper and had her do her whole "global warming thing," again.

seriously, I think they have adopted the Nazi mode of "the bigger the lie you tell, and the more often you tell it, the more people will believe it. We now have the situation where "they" are just recycling global warming, even as people will start to die from lethal cold.

The powers that be are preparing people to deal with global warming, ie warm temperatures when what people will actually face will be global cooling and extreme cold temperatures. And so the people will be unprepared and die just like the globalists want.

The media spin on this is in your face lies.

I believe a Grand Solar Minimum would explain much of what is going on now.

"Early' is one thing, if it it just a short term fluke lasting for just a few days. It happens.

We are three weeks into this now and there is every indication this will persist for as far as we can forecast. Any notion of a post-freeze Indian Summer is long gone IMO.

I used to do a lot of waterfowl, deer, turkey and upland game hunting in Oct./Nov. I've never seen anything like what we are currently experiencing, as far as cold and snow is concerned. The "Indian Summer" days would be a glorious time to be outdoors.

    We can kiss that stuff goodbye . . . . .

Grand Solar Minimum means a MULTI DECADE CHANGE IN WINTER WEATHER PATTERNS. It gets colder, earlier, lasts longer and redefines the growing seasons for "normal crops." It gives you, year after year, a "a year with no summer," like in 1816. People died in large numbers when the crop fails because the July temps were colder, not warmer, but colder than "normal."

The spring of 2019 was wet, cold and caused massive damage to food crops. Our summer was cooler, and here we are in the late October, early November time frame and dealing with BRUTAL WINTER WEATHER. Again, the "new permanent," is colder, earlier and longer. People are going to die over this.

Morning now we were supposed to only go down to 24F and we got 19F. Very frosty here this morning and as always wood stove needed feeding and took a good 45 minutes to get it back up to operating temp.

18 outside at present. Supposed to hit around 10 tonight. We have a dusting of snow on the ground. Deer hunters will love this as it make the hanging of deer outside better. No big rush to get it butchered before the meat spoils. It does mean that meat is going to freeze pretty quick tho so getting it to a fridge warmer than outside may still be better. (I hate having to try to butcher a frozen carcass)

West, some snow would be great. Need about 10 inches of it so we can bank the foundation of the cabin. We did put new foamboard up all around this fall. It's an inch thicker than the last batch. Now to get the snow blown against it and we won't need to call plumbers.....

Now I have to go grab an armful of firewood from the shed. Got one log left and from the looks of the woodstove, that one will be going in shortly.......

I just have one question about the hot tub pics. That must be a fake fireplace with gas logs. No way you are going to be putting firewood in it with the hot tub that close........

And no where to stack wood either. Who wants to be going outside in the cold to get firewood? Open fireplaces like that are just a waste of good wood. Most of the heat will just be going up the chimney. A fireplace insert would be a better option but then if I owned a place like that I probably wouldn't worry about such things. just light the gas logs........

Hmm, Portland, Oregon has been flooded with refugees for the last 40 years at least. The normal winters here in western Oregon ie Portland is a high in the low to mid 50's F, and lows in the mid 40s,. This 10 degree F range is fairly solid from Halloween to Easter, with some lows in the mid 30's, and highs, in the mid 40's. You say snow, and we say rain. Multiple times we get one inch of rain per day, and it lasts for days and days. One time we got one inch of rain, for ten days in a row in December. It is not at all uncommon to get rain, drizzle, mist etc for 40 days in a row.

From time to time, we get creamed, like the 12 inches of snow we got on Christmas back in 2008, but Portland just doesn't do extreme weather very often.

I am drooling at your hot tub!
