Hopping mad farmers ‘open fire’ on vegan activists who killed 100 rabbits at farm in Spain

A vegan activist claims she was involved in a high speed chase and shot at by farmers who were enraged that she had freed 16 rabbits, while accidentally killing 100 baby bunnies in the process.

The activist, self-styled as ‘Mythical Mia’, alleges the farmers were extremely aggressive and tried to strangle her fellow activists and hit them in the head with metal poles when they discovered them attempting to free the rabbits from captivity in Osono, Spain last week.

They soon fled the property at which point ‘Mia’ claims the activists were allegedly cornered by several vehicles down a back road where the irate farmers threatened them and hit their car for up to an hour before police arrived and diffused the situation.

The activist alleges that the police refused to provide her and her accomplice with an escort. Ten minutes later, one of the farmers’ vehicles caught up with them and opened fire, shattering the glass and injuring the activist, she claimed online.

“This is what has just happened to us, look, I’m documenting the whole thing,” she said while showing her bloody cheek and the shattered car window beside her. “I’m covered in blood. This is what the farmers have done. They shot through our window and chased us down the motorway. Oh my God, I’m literally covered in blood.”

However, police dispute a number of elements of her story: she claims to have rescued 16 rabbits, though by authorities’ count she only managed to free 14.

During the botched rescue operation, five pregnant rabbits were killed, several others were left with broken spines, and up to 100 baby bunnies had to be euthanized after being abandoned.

The local Spanish police dispute that the glass was broken by a shotgun blast and claim it was far more likely a heavy object was thrown at the car.

The Barcelona-based activist boasts some 40,000 followers on Instagram and posted an update in which she showed one of the ‘rescued’ rabbits apparently injured in the ‘daring’ bid for freedom.

What are they complaining about? Conditions for the pooches, or that you have (LARGE) dogs?

Couldn't happen to a more deserving group of people.

Add to that trespassing and probably a number of other crimes.
    She should be in jail.

She should get a good beating by pounding her over and over again and again 1000+ times with dead bunnies.

My chickens are blooded and waiting for someone to open the door that they do not recognize. I will find a skeleton the next day and my chickens will still be there waiting for the next meal.

Feed them steak today cut into big strips.

So, she freed 16 bunnies so they could get torn apart by loose dogs and foxes.
The farmer's knife would have been far kinder.

I had a add in for puppies, they came out saying they wanted a puppy, then when they got here, screamed about the conditions. I take very good care of my dogs, there worth $400 to 500 each.
each pair has a 30 ft by 30 ft 6 ft fenced area. and a fenced 12 by 24 ft with cement floor. next to the air conditioned puppy house. dogs have it better than I do,
lucky, I was carrying when they were here, and only had to lift my shirt over the pistol, and they ran off screaming. got a call from the sherrif later. saying 3 crazy women had complained I was carrying a gun in my yard

and they are large. Daddy is 165 pounds

When Hermione passed, I originally wanted to get another King Shepherd. Oh, if I could only have had one for $500 (sigh).

What's worse, from the sounds of it, most of the rabbits she turned loose had small kits in the nest boxes that had to be put down because their mothers weren't coming back -- that's the 100 babies that died.

    She's a mentally ill moron.

A GSD isn’t a King. You’d met Hermione, so you know.

King Shepherds are among the most strikingly beautiful dog breeds, as well as being enormous. When Hermione was alive, I did go through a lot of food. But I cooked for the dogs then as well as fed them kibble. Between her and Odin (the GSD), I went through 6 lbs of hamburger and 12 cans of green beans a week. as well as about 20 lbs of dry kibble.

You could feed a small village in Africa with that much food!
    You made the better choice.

You know, the average lifespan of Kings is 10-11 years. Hermione lived 12 years 8 months, and only started slowing down at the end of her 10th year. She really started getting infirm at 12. So for the vast majority of her life, she was healthy and active.

She has killed 100 baby rabbits. Her world and her rational thought patterns just went south. She will have to reinvent herself. I predict she will be in a burka in less than 12 months.

These people don't care about the animals. If they did, they'd see that their tactics do more harm every time.
All they care about is their anarchic crusade.

Yep, farmland has to be cleared and wild livestock killed to grow vegetables. Or else everything has to be fenced completely top and sides of the growing area. This is how I have to garden.

So vegans are responsible for livestock deaths the same as any one else.

I’m just going to add that I hope she has a nice scar to explain to her rational grandchildren. But that looks self inflicted. Like a BS Wound. That would suck.
