    5 App for plane spotting.

I have flightaware but .mil does not show up on it. Is there an app for seeing those?
I'm assuming there not running dark to much air traffic around here for that.

Some reason you feel the need to track military aircraft?

Heard something loud and low heading back and forth out of my site.
Little later flew over the house eastbound.
    Some sort of mil jet.
Just curious what it was and where it was headed.

    Try this open source site,

    https://global.adsbexchange.com

They claim not to remove .mil traffic.

To see only .mil traffic, enter the world map then select Menu, Options, Filters and select Military.

    Don't get too excited though.

The military has the capability to parse false ADS-B data or to not use the ADS-B transponder at all.

I do wonder how safe that is along busy commercial air traffic corridors?

Back in the 70s I was an Air Traffic Controller for the Oregon Air National Guard...we had our own radar configuration for controlling our own aircraft. We had multiple agreements with the FAA on where and how we were deployed.

I don't know what's changed today, but I would seriously doubt that you can obtain accurate Military "Movement" information from a civilian site.

Here's a Navy E-6B Mercury of all things. I am suspicious of all the training aircraft aloft at the same time. It is rare to see actual combat fighter planes.

I do wonder how military planes can fly in unrestricted airspace without having their transponders visible to civilian ATC?
