Bell Peppers and Onions is a good mix to work with pork.
Onions alone can do wounders for most cuts of pork slow cooked in a crock pot or dutch oven like an old german dish.

The really thick ones are called Iowa chops here there often close to two inches thick.
People are quick to confuse and despise confidence as arrogance but that is common amongst those who have never accomplished anything in their lives and who have always played it safe not willing to risk failure.

It sounds wonderful! Try not to feed too many onions to a dog... they can act as a blood thinner.

Friend of ours a LOOOOOOONG time ago used to do a Delmonaco steak for each of us.
    Broiled it,
With a half-inch pat of butter on each side.
Pepper on each side and butter and pepper is it.
    Pink not bloody.
    Nothin better.

My vet told me that onions are poison for the dogs and not good to feed at all as are avacadoes and grapes.

    I wouldn't feed that to a dog.
Good luck with the canine gas explosions.

I do nearly the same thing with onion and peppers except I use either sirloin or rib steak sliced thin and cooked very hot and very fast. Served with a side of creamy mashed potatoes.

    Even my DH (who did not like sauerkraut) loved and will eat sauerkraut fixed like this;
TAKE PORK as much as needed for the meal
brown it well in fat(your choice)
Add a big, thinly sliced yellow winter onion (not a vidalia or sweet onion)
Add RINSED sauerkraut (very important to rinse out the sour sauerkraut pickling juice) (add as much kraut as will be eaten by the people you are cooking for)
ADD lots of SLICED APPLES and about 1/2 cup apple juice (add water if you need to prevent it from drying out and burning)
Add a quarter cup of brown sugar (or more if you like)
ADD one clove crushed garlic, and salt and pepper

put all in covered dish or pot and slowly bake till the pork is tender
Here is a recipe close to mine (but I don't use Thai or Moroccan seasonings) https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/24...nd-sauerkraut/
My family loves it the way I make it.
Serve with boiled red potatoes and butter.

Wondering if this recipe would work just as well using a crock pot? It sounds great, and I know that my German MIL would approve. Sure sounds like one of her pork recipes. She's gone now.

Sure it would, just add enough extra water so that it doesn't go dry during the long cook

Well, ok then. I'm gonna give it a shot. I don't use my oven much during the summer. It's just too hot and humid.
