Homeowner with AR-15 Repels Four Armed Intrusion Suspects, Killing Two

A homeowner with an AR-15 killed two of four intrusion suspects Wednesday night, one of whom was wearing a “Jason” mask.

The Ocala Star Banner reports that four suspects allegedly targeted the home. Two of the suspects, 22-year-old Nigel Doyle and 21-year-old Keith Jackson Jr, were killed when the homeowner opened fire. Guns were found near the bodies of both men.

Two other suspects, 19-year-old Robert John Hamilton and 22-year-old Seth Adam Rodriguez, were apprehended by responding deputies. Rodriguez was “arrested on charges of murder and home invasion robbery with a firearm. Hamilton faces home invasion robbery with a firearm.”

Click on Orlando reports that the homeowner allegedly received gunshot wounds from the armed suspects. Deputies found the homeowner “with an AR-15 rifle next to his legs.”

The homeowner was hospitalized and is expected to survive.

The homeowner said the suspects allegedly knocked on his door, feigning car trouble and asking for help. He told them he could not help and closed the door. A short time later he says he was allegedly awakened by a loud crashing sound as the suspects allegedly made entry.

He grabbed his AR-15 and said gunfire immediately began to be exchanged.

Used to live down around there many years ago.

Hats off to the homeowner/ citizen for batting .500

I wish him well and a fast recovery.

He’d better hope the scum weren’t part of a gang or the homeowner will have a chance at some more trigger time.

There was an interesting piece to this story, that was more detailed in another source. I thought about this when some people here think, since they live in a rural area, the zombie hordes will never find them.

Well, look where this homeowner lived:

The mobile home where the shooting occurred is on a 20-acre lot with dense woods and a single-lane dirt driveway. The distance from a gate to home is roughly 300 yards.

So, for those of you who think your dirt driveway in the woods makes for a safe bunker when the "knee-grows" come looking and scavenging..... well.....

NC gives free access to criminal records online. Every time I see a home invasion story in NC I look up the homeowner.

Most of them have records from the drug trade … just sayin...

A long dirt driveway actually makes you possibly less safe when as you say "the "knee-grows" come looking and scavenging".

The isolation of a long dirt driveway means that the goings on will be less likely to be noticed by neighbors and thus you are less likely to have any help for said neighbors. In this case it was 4 guys against 1 guy living in a mobile home. If the homeowner had not had a gun to defend himself with who knows what the 4 guys would have done to him, and for how long, once they got into the home.

And if in TSHTF it would be easy for the 4 guys to trap the homeowner in the home and basically take him out using time and numbers. That is why you will want to basically always have someone outside of the home so that you can hit the intruders from another direction. Defense in depth.

It also helps to live in a low population density area known for severe and austere winters where they don’t choose to live.
What is the lake of fire? What is it's purpose? Is the lake of fire eternal hell? Is there any hope of escape for those cast into this lake?

I hope the guy on the top right got hit, he's got that arrogant look. Sadly all 4 aren't taking a dirt nap.

    Should read:

The homeowner said the suspects allegedly knocked on his door, feigning car trouble and asking for help. Shouting through the door he told them he could help and has called the sheriff for them, a deputy is on the way to help.

I'm sure that the four doctors were concerned with the homeowners health and this was all a misunderstanding .
