Protect Vincent Lambert's Life - Petition to: President Emmanuel Macron (France)

By Euthanasia Prevention Coalition · 05/21/2019

Vincent Lambert is currently being killed in France. We need to act now to save him.

On May 20, the hospital in Reims, France, where Vincent Lambert is living, began to deeply sedate him and withdraw the tube that provides him food and water. Later in the day, a Court of Appeals in Paris ordered that he continue to receive food and fluids.

But on Friday, June 28, France’s highest court overturned the decision of the Court of Appeals in Paris. Now, since July 2nd, Lambert is once again being sedated and dehydrated. This forced dehydration will eventually cause his death. He will die of thirst, and he will suffer terribly.

Lambert, who has been living with a cognitive disability since a motorcycle accident in 2008, breathes on his own and does not require medical treatment. He only requires basic care, including food and fluids. His wife petitioned the court in 2015 to have food and fluids withheld, but his parents have been trying to save his life.

A few weeks ago, the United Nations Committee on the Rights of People with Disabilities petitioned the French government to prevent Vincent Lambert from being killed by dehydration. They stated that Lambert's death by dehydration contravenes his rights as a person with disabilities. Section 25f of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities requires nations to:

25(f) Prevent discriminatory denial of health care or health services or food and fluids on the basis of disability.

Sign this petition to French President Emmanuel Macron urging him to intervene in the case of Vincent Lambert.

Lambert is not dying, and withholding food and fluids will cause him to die of dehydration.

No human being should ever be intentionally killed by euthanasia or dehydration.

    Protect Vincent Lambert's life!

Letter to President Emmanuel Macron (IN ENGLISH):

I am writing to you because you are the only person with the power to intervene.

In April 2018, during your speech at the Collège des Bernardins, (a French Catholic academy) you said this:

"You consider that our duty is to protect life, especially when this life is defenseless. From the life of the unborn child, to the person on the threshold of death or the life of the refugee who has lost everything, you see this common trait of destitution, nakedness and absolute vulnerability. "

You are the only person who can prevent the murder of Vincent Lambert.

Vincent Lambert is not at the end of his life, he is disabled. A person is in the process of being killed on account of his disability.

Surely you do not want to be remembered as the President of the Republic who reinstated the concept of euthanasia for the most vulnereable?

You can still save Vincent Lambert.

A courageous gesture from you to protect and defend life will be recorded for posterity.

    Yours faithfully

BREAKING: Vincent Lambert, France’s Terri Schiavo, dies after 9 days without food and water

News End of Life Thu Jul 11, 2019 - 10:57 am EST

     euthanasia, france, vincent lambert

July 11, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – Vincent Lambert, the disabled man a court ordered to be starved to death in a French hospital, died this morning. After nine days without food and fluids, showing a remarkable will to live despite the cruel death of thirst that doctors had prepared for him, France’s Terri Schiavo departed from this earthly life at 8:24 a.m. on Thursday, July 11. He died of heart failure induced by the malfunction of his kidneys in Reims University Hospital in the room where he had been kept under lock and key for the last six years.

Minutes after his passing, his half-nephew François, favorable to his relative being denied food and water, informed the media that Vincent had died.

Whatever his death certificate will say, Vincent Lambert did not die of natural causes, nor as a consequence of his serious handicap and brain damage. His death was deliberately brought about by a medical decision to deprive him of food and fluids that was approved by France’s highest courts and the European Court of Human Rights.

France deliberately ignored the request from the United Nations Committee for the Rights of Disabled Persons that asked for provisional measures for the end-of-life procedure to be lifted while it examined his case.

The last weeks of Vincent Lambert’s life were particularly distressful for his father Pierre, mother Viviane, and siblings David and Anne, who fought for his life over the last six years. They were given only limited time with their son and brother, alternating visits with Vincent’s wife and guardian Rachel and those family members who were favorable to his death, and only being allowed to approach him one at a time.

Their visits took place under close surveillance and they were promptly ordered to leave each time their visiting hours came to an end.

Contrary to the dispositions of the Leonetti “end-of-life” law of 2016, Vincent was given no deep sedation. During the first days of his ordeal, he cried and moaned a great deal, also showing signs of suffocation, to the horror of his family. Viviane Lambert told LifeSiteNews the procedure was “horrific.”

In a statement, lawyers Jean Paillot and Jérôme Triomphe said:

“Vincent has died, killed for reasons of State and by a doctor who has forsaken his Hippocratic oath. This cathedral of humanity that had been burning for a week under our powerless eyes has collapsed. No account has been taken of the dignity of this handicapped man, [who] was condemned because he was handicapped.

For the first dignity of all is to respect a person's life.

Part of our common humanity has left us today, because this heinous wrongdoing that is shaking the foundation of our laws and civilization affects us all.

The time has come for mourning and silent prayer. But also for meditation on this State crime.”

You know, they could at least be honest about it, call it euthanasia, and use a merciful overdose of a sedative, along with potassium chloride to stop the heart... just like we do for beloved pets. (And it's actually ILLEGAL to euthanize your own dog in some states, even using a painless method)

And it would be illegal EVERYWHERE in the US to starve an animal to death because they were damaged in some way!

How in HELL is this legal, anywhere? (And side thought... liberals really DO love death and lack all compassion... their true allegiance to Satan is being hidden less and less.)

A friend of mine was in the same condition as Lambert. Her mother decided to dehydrate her and starve her to death. I begged her not to do it, she would not listen to my pleas. I can assure you what I witnessed in her starvation was beyond cruel. You’d be arrested if you did that to a dog. The fear in my friend’s eyes is something I can never get out of my head. The convulsions, tremors, and seizures were unbearable to watch. Her mother just ignored her suffering. I can imagine exactly what Lambert endured. RIP Vincent.
