Ginsburg Hints at Sharp Divides as Supreme Court Term Nears End

    news.yahoo.com

(Bloomberg) -- Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg hinted that sharp divisions will mark the final weeks of a Supreme Court term that will include major rulings on the census and partisan gerrymandering.

Speaking before the annual conference of federal judges in New York, Ginsburg suggested that more than a quarter of the court’s remaining 27 rulings will be decided by a single vote. Of the 43 argued cases settled so far, 11 were by a vote of either 5-4 or 5-3, she said.

“Given the number of most-watched cases still unannounced, I cannot predict that the relatively low sharp divisions ratio will hold,” the 86-year-old justice said, according to a copy of her remarks provided by the court on Friday.

The justices are scheduled to finish their nine-month term at the end of this month. It’s the first session since Justice Brett Kavanaugh joined the court and strengthened its conservative majority.

Ginsburg has made an annual practice of summarizing the high court’s term at the June conference, often offering what seem to be tantalizing hints about the outcome of the court’s biggest disputes.

    ‘Breaking Point’

She touched on both the census and gerrymandering cases in her remarks Friday. She linked the census case, which will determine whether Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross can include a question about citizenship in the 2020 survey, to the court’s decision last year upholding President Donald Trump’s travel ban.

The travel ban ruling “granted great deference to the executive,” Ginsburg said. Opponents of the citizenship question “have argued that a ruling in Secretary Ross’s favor would stretch deference beyond the breaking point.”

The two gerrymandering cases could resolve whether voting maps can be challenged as being so partisan they violate the Constitution.

“However one comes out on the legal issues, partisan gerrymandering unsettles the fundamental premise that people elect their representatives, not vice versa,” Ginsburg said.

(Updates with remarks about census, gerrymandering cases starting in sixth paragraph.)

That's part of the reason I posted the article. It would seem so. This is her annual thing, and her not showing up, would of been an indication of being below ground.

If there are sharp divisions in the Court, I’d not be that surprised. There are sharp divisions in our Country on many issues. How long there is a union is an interesting question. There is no political leadership interested, willing or able to bridge those divisions at this time. It may not be possible to do so. I’m a bit surprised at this. If political anarchy is our future, the economy and our prosperity go down the tubes.

saw two pictures there, those did not give any clues to me as to the time they were taken, found another one, a stock photo when I looked up remarks of conference of federal judges. nothing so far that says she was THERE. Yeah I know, the tin foil hat is on...BUT.....
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man. Old photos.
Somehow she isn't sporting her humpback and slump-neck anymore????

Until someone proves otherwise, I assume that the Deep State coup is hiding the fact that she's dead until next fiscal year.
At that point, precedent says that PDJT can't have a nominee voted on until after the election.

If she "dies" before the election it is very likely that RBG has been dead for a while.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg: Kavanaugh ‘Boosted’ Female SCOTUS Law Clerks

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (RBG) told a group of judges in upstate New York on Thursday that her colleague, newly-appointed Justice Brett Kavanaugh, was the reason the Supreme Court (SCOTUS) had more female law clerks this term.

“Justice Kavanaugh made history by hiring a team of all-female law clerks for his staff. Thanks to his selections, the Court has this Term, for the first time ever, more women than men serving as law clerks,” Ginsburg announced on Thursday.

Ginsburg’s statement comes several months after Kavanaugh went through a drawn-out confirmation battle to become an associate justice on the Supreme Court over accusations of sexual misconduct.

Democrats pushed the FBI for further investigation into those allegations, but the FBI determined those allegations against Kavanaugh to be “uncorroborated.”

During the heated set of confirmation hearings, Kavanaugh made a promise to appoint a team of all-female clerks. The New York Times reported in October 2018 that he promised to hire a team of four female Supreme Court law clerks.

Kavanaugh testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee along with one of his accusers, California psychology professor Christine Blasey Ford, over decades-old allegations that Kavanaugh groped Ford at a high school party. Kavanaugh had repeatedly denied the allegations and Ford’s claims.

However, nobody had been able to prove that Ford’s allegations against Kavanaugh are true because Ford kept changing her version of the story.
Of the people she named, not one of them said they could recall what happened around that time or whether Kavanaugh and Ford were in the same room.
Kavanaugh is considered to be one of the more conservative judges on the Supreme Court, but he has sided with more liberal justices in several rulings.

    He hired all female staffers.....

You would think that this would be a huge red flag to the liberals, who alleged that he was a serial rapist and the leader of a rape gang.

Though not really a full defense from defamation anymore, Kavanaugh should have hired all males and told the liberals that their BS in the confirmation was why, just to watch the heads explode.

It still hasn't been proven that Ginsburg is alive and conscious and functioning, so anything puportedly coming from her is suspect.

This first link is the full speech she gave. Which has a date, June 7, 2019, and it's 36 pages long.
