Mexico is going to back Maduro and we along with the rest of the South American countries are going to back the new President of the National Assembly. Will Mexico send troops to assist Maduro? Will Cuba send troops or have they ever left. Sounds like we are defacto about to enter conflict with Mexico. I have been predicting the War of the Americas, not that I want it, but it is the only way you get rid of Marxist Rats.

Putin would be stretching his resources by going into Venezuela. It is Russia now not the old Soviet Empire. I would look more to China.

I either saw or imagined a breaking tweet a few hours ago that said Russia was still backing Maduro and would help him any way they can.

I have not been able to find it again, so maybe I imagined it.

There have been decades and decades of various "Marxist Rats" ruling all over Latin America along with a large parage of Right-wing NAZI inspired "juntas" of various sorts; only Cuba and occasionally Nicaragua have to manage to maintain the leftist version for more than a few years; and Cuba had a lot of help until the Soviets collapsed.

Personally, I have been expecting a situation like this since both China and Russia expressed an interest in helping out Maduro in exchange for military bases and other installations there.

Venezuela has both miles of coastline and small harbors, and a lot of jungle that could easily hide things or be extremely useful to either China or Russia.

I didn't really think the US would stand for another Cuba, only in a much-much larger country with a lot more natural resources and potential.

Guaido has encouraged the United States to keep their personnel in the country, stating he'll work to keep diplomatic efforts with the country.

But how many PLA/PAP troops could Beijing ship there to make a difference at this point? The same goes for any of the others "supporting" Maduro....

Ok so that was the "official" line, now we wait for the breakaway group; which could easily mean civil war though I hope not.

Their families are starving too and even the military has been having issues; not to mention both police and military have been subjected to arrests and interrogations lately.

They better kill Maduro or he will go to some other country and stir up trouble in Venezuela from there. Anyone know anything about the supposed new guy? Sometimes the new guy turns out to be as bad or worse than the one you had.
