Voters Don't Think Government's Doing Enough to Stop Illegal Immigration
    in Politics

    Friday, January 11, 2019

In the midst of a government shutdown over disagreements about building a border wall, two-out-of-three voters still think illegal immigration is a serious issue, but nearly half of voters think the government isn’t working hard enough to stop it.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 48% of Likely U.S. Voters think the government is doing too little to stop illegal immigration, up five points from 43% who felt the same way in August. Twenty-eight percent (28%) believe the government is doing too much to stop illegal immigration, down from 34%, while 17% think the government’s level of action is about right. The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on January 8-9, 2019 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.

Here are some facts as to why the people are demanding a Safe America.
And these numbers are for just Texas.
Traffic deaths caused by drunken illegals are not mentioned...too many to count, I expect.

23% of Federal inmates are illegal immigrants. Border arrests are up 240%. In the Great State of Texas, between 2011 & 2018, there were a total of 292,000 crimes by illegal aliens, 539 murders, 32,000 assaults, 3,426 sexual assaults and 3000 weapons charges. Democrats come back!

WashPost Whacks Trump's Texas Border Fashions: 'Choice of Attire Was a Disaster'

By Tim Graham | January 11, 2019 4:57 PM EST

Washington Post fashion critic Robin Givhan is acting like a very badly disguised editorial writer again. On the front of Friday's Style section, she attacked Trump's fashions in Texas under the headline "Fashion crisis at the border." The headline after the article jumped inside to page C2 was "Trump's choice of attire was a disaster."

Liberals love pretending that Obama's only scandal was he once wore a tan suit. But criticizing how this president dresses is easy, low-hanging fruit. It's a yawn. So Givhan has to dress up the fashion chatter with screeds about Trump's fact-mangling and fear-mongering.

Just a week ago, Givhan was aglow at the fashions of the new liberal/socialist Democrat women in Congress. The partisan contrast is like almost everything else in the Washington Post: blatant and shameless.

A look at the actual outfit shows a pretty generic presidential jacket and white shirt with a white hat (with MAGA on it). How that's "disastrous" is a mystery. But away she goes:

But when Trump looked into his closet for Thursday’s uniform, he didn’t choose the suit and tie that speaks of white-collar management or the sport jacket that remains a favorite of the business casual set. Trump selected the uniform that announces: Unplanned mayhem, danger and destruction ahead! [Italics in the original.]

In Trump’s battle over the border, facts have disappeared, been misstated or been so mangled that they’ve been rendered unrecognizable. His concrete border wall has been rebranded as steel slats, see-through barricades, a fancy fence or simply border security. Mexico will pay for it; Mexico is already paying for it. The families seeking asylum have been transformed into violent hordes toting drugs and scaling the barriers that already exist. The story of the border has become a made-up drama with real-life consequences. And Trump was costumed as the hero in the narrative that he has studiously crafted.

What this little screed had to do with the president's choice of MAGA hats is anyone's guess. But she wasn't done, describing how every presidential visit is symbolic:

They’re an opportunity for the public to see the president get hands-on with a town’s recovery. They give the president a few moments to reassure those in dire straits that their government, at its highest level, sees and hears them. And the importance of each word of his and each handshake is freighted with meaning. Tossing paper towels into a crowd of displaced U.S. citizens in Puerto Rico, which the president did in October 2017, reads like an inhumane nose-thumbing at their plight. Arriving at the U.S. border with Mexico dressed like he’s headed to the periphery of a raging firestorm is in itself a form of heated rhetoric.

The president chose not to wear a suit jacket, which would have suggested that this is not a situation that requires a declaration of national emergency — that no great waves of terrorists and pestilence are crashing over the border. Instead, it would have been a nod toward the faintest possibility of civil discourse. A suit would have suggested that perhaps now, he was getting down to business.

Instead, his attire blared that he had come to inspect the damage. And certainly there is damage. Widespread wreckage. But there’s nothing natural about it.

She reprised her conclusion on Twitter:

Trump is WINNING big in the polls on the Wall issue!!!
That is why there are no poll results being blared out by the Fake News.
As usual, Rush is on point in his analysis.

I am glad that Rasmussen spilled the beans.

As long as the polls results are this positive, the shutdown continues until Trump gets his Wall.

Rush Limbaugh notices something glaringly missing from border wall discussionJanuary 12, 2019 | Vivek Saxena

During his radio program this week, conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh noticed something unusual about the ongoing border wall/shutdown fight debate: a lack of polls.

He specifically noted that no meaningful polls were published after President Donald Trump delivered an Oval Office address Tuesday in which he explained the ongoing battles to the public and implored Democrat to end them by agreeing to secure the southern U.S. border.

“There has been no polling data that we could find anywhere following Trump’s speech,” Limbaugh said Friday. “There weren’t any Frank Luntz focus groups with any undecideds out there.”

They didn’t gather any Trump voters in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, and ask them if they’re still behind Trump. The media didn’t do any of the stuff they usually do. We have no idea what the valued and very wise independents thought of Trump’s speech.”

    Listen to his commentary below:

Correct. While the media ran polls prior to the president’s address, no polls appeared to be published afterward. In some cases, the media made dubious conclusions about the address without citing any factual evidence whatsoever.

“Did Trump’s Oval Office address change anything?” reads the headline of a piece from The Washington Post that the writer admits was written “approximately an hour before” the address.

Or at least the beginning part was written prior to the address. Toward the end, the writer included a post-address conclusion that the president’s address was “dreadful” and would change nothing. But no post-address polls were provided to back this unsubstantiated thesis.

Why is that? According to Limbaugh, it’s possible it’s because the polling data didn’t match their expectations: “I’m sure they [the media] did, in a flash way, sample public opinion [via polls]. [But] They didn’t get the negative reaction to Trump they hoped for.”

And so they neglected to report the polls. As possible proof of this thesis, the conservative radio show host pointed to an unexpected revelation unveiled by the president’s 2020 campaign manager, Brad Parscale during an interview Thursday.

Speaking with Fox News host Martha MacCallum, Parscale claimed that internal campaign polling data shows the president’s currently enjoying some of the highest numbers of his political career.

“[W]atching the data, you know, I started to see this rise as he started making this fight. And I’m not surprised by it. Because if you go back and you look, you look at the people that are kind of these swing voters, these people who possibly don’t like him for personality or different reasons, the No. 1 reason they will vote for him is because of his stance on border security,” he explained.

    Listen:

“Bingo,” Limbaugh said Friday of what Parscale had said.

“So here you have the Trump campaign manager saying that their data … shows Trump’s at his highest level since this fight began. It makes perfect sense why the Drive-By Media would not be reporting a single public opinion reaction to Trump’s Oval Office speech or even on the subject,” he noted.

Also true. Just this week CNN asked a San Diego news station to speak with local U.S. Border Patrol agents to see how they felt about the president’s desired border wall. When the station informed CNN that the agents they’d spoken to supported it, CNN dropped the story.

“The public polling data that we do have is 93% of the American people think it’s a major problem; 70% of the people support a national emergency declaration to solve this,” Limbaugh added.

He seems to believe that support for the president may have spiked following his Oval Office address. Why? Because the address allowed the president to bypass the media’s oftentimes false narratives explain the ongoing border wall/shutdown fight debate directly to the American people.

But he likewise believes the media has purposefully to not share these alleged results with the public because they’d hurt their narrative. Limbaugh isn’t the only one who suspects this may be the case:

Maybe it’s just me, but do you find it odd that there are no poll results being publicized since the Oval Office address? Could it be that the public wants border security improved and reject the Schumer/Pelosi obstruction? Just askin’.

    — Albert F. Bernal (@AlbertFBernal1) January 12, 2019

Did you notice there were no poll results released ANYWHERE after Trumps oval office address?
The Anti-American Media (#AAM) is trying to hide Trumps overwhelming popularity

    — Danny Walls (@dannywalls644) January 11, 2019

@ChrisStigall An observation: I haven’t seen nor heard of one singular poll of DJT’s Oval Office address. Very strange. Makes you wonder if there’s something they don’t want us to know.

    — Jerry (@holysmolee) January 11, 2019

If @CNN took a poll and it came back showing that a majority of viewers liked Trump’s Oval Office address and were favorably influenced, would they publish it? I wish I were sure the answer is ‘yes.’

    — Mickey Kaus (@kausmickey) January 10, 2019

In the past, every time ANY @POTUS gives an address, there are polls done to see where a presidents approval rating is.There wasn’t ANY of these polls after @realDonaldTrump’s “border wall address”,this poll shows exactly why other polls weren’t done, they knew ppl supported Trump.

    — Mikey Mike (@MIkeymike3174) January 12, 2019

Interesting how after @POTUS address to the nation & whatever that was that Chucky & Nancy (a/k/a ‘Chancy’) gave afterwards that we haven’t seen ONE SINGLE POLL about it. Guess in MSM Land, even no news is #FakeNews.

    — Donald Bader (@macroagressor50) January 12, 2019

@SpeakerPelosi Not ONE FAKE News source has released a poll on @realDonaldTrump address because Americans overwhelmingly support him! Democrats are losing this one. #PelosiShutdown #WallsWork #BuildTheWall #SecureOurBorder #SchumerPelosiOpenBordersShutdown

    — Cam Jones (@SGTCajones) January 11, 2019

“Do any of you have the sense that President Trump is winning this shutdown battle with Chuck and Nancy?” Limbaugh said Friday in conclusion. “I do. I have the sense that he’s winning this thing big time. By winning it big time I’m talking about with the American people. And I think Chuck and Nancy and the Democrats are beginning to look the way we see them to a lot of people.”
