Dianne Feinstein Pushes Ban on 205 Commonly Owned Semiautomatic Guns

    www.breitbart.com
    1 min read

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) is pushing to ban 205 commonly owned semiautomatic firearms.

The various firearms, pistols among them, are to be prohibited under the Assault Weapons Ban of 2019, introduced by Dianne Feinstein.

On January 10, 2019, Breitbart News reported that the ban was focused on commonly owned semiautomatic firearms and “high-capacity” magazines.

Feinstein announced on Twitter: “Americans across the nation are asking Congress to reinstate the federal ban on military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. If we’re going to put a stop to mass shootings and protect our children, we need to get these weapons of war off our streets.”

A press release describing the ban explains that Feinstein is gunning for 205 specific commonly owned semiautomatic firearms. Additionally, she calls for a ban on any “assault pistol” that weighs more than 50 ounces, and she seeks a ban on “assault pistol stabilizing braces that transform assault pistols into assault rifles by allowing the shooter to shoulder the weapon and fire more accurately.”
She says Americans who already own any of the 205 commonly owned semiautomatic firearms can have them grandfathered in, however, she wants universal background checks applied to them should they change hands in the future. The goal here is clearly to find and track them so that the government knows exactly who owns one should the grandfathering clause be done away with.

After all, Feinstein has a history of longing for the next step in gun control just after securing passage of a gun control bill.

For example, Forbes reports that Feinstein reacted to the passage of the 1994 federal “assault weapons” ban by lamenting that she could not round up the votes to go house-to-house to collect firearms. She said, “If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them … ‘Mr. and Mrs. America, turn ’em all in,’ I would have done it.”

It has to get out of committee before that can happen.

Remember, conservatives won’t be in power forever. Once the Marxists regain power, this is the first thing that will become law. The second thing will be confiscation. The third thing will be civil war.

The conversations with people in the last couple of generations have been rather disappointing regarding the constitution and amendments. They are generally against guns and for socialism.

The whites are below replacement population breeding so the numbers are declining.

Most of the crime is non whites.

Globalists are intent on bring in more non whites and other cultures many of which are incompatible with this culture.

There is no doubt in my mind our society is doomed. Every aspect of life will be worse, not just for whites but for everyone.

It might take another two decades, maybe just one, but put a fork in us, we are done.

Friend, you cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. And what one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government can't give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody.

True. Once the country falls back into the hands of the Marxists, our worst nightmare's will begin. I see God's plan for Trump being president as Him giving us a reprieve for awhile. I can almost hear God telling us to prepare like our lives depend on it now, while we've been given a chance. Afterwards, all bets are off.

I'd like to ban Feinstein. The horse is already out of the barn on this one and these bans show how delusional the leftists are. There are more guns in this country than there is people to shoot them and somehow they think that by passing a law that millions of us are going to meekly line up and turn them in. We have fallen far but we are not yet Australia, England or Canada.

More idiocy. Even if this passed, even if this were legitimate, how would they ever know that you didn't "change hands" BEFOREHAND?

This is the argument they will make when they pass laws requiring you to register them. Not registered= contraband/felony possession. Registration= confiscation. Pick your poison.

Which is, again, idiocy. What are they going to do, try door-to-door house searches to make sure you're not harboring fugitive guns? When that happens, they'll find out how many were left. Oh wait, ALL OF THEM! And they're loaded!

    Just sayin.

Demographics are on their side. Once TX, FL, and GA go blue, and they will, the left will control the Whitehouse and Congress for very long time. They’re not going to get their way in 2019 but their day is coming sooner than most here will allow themselves to contemplate. Trump ‘s legacy will be his court appointments as everything else will be washed away as soon as the left takes full control.

200 years ago congress could have legislated an act banning flint locks for the same reasoning and would end up stopped by the Supreme Court without any citizen having to file a case with the court.

You might reconsider the 10/22 it only shoots LR. However, a Henry lever action 22, comes in various models, shoots them all. Just saying. Buck Horn sights is a plus.

Are you saying, being semi-auto, it will not fire shorts or CB Caps? I would think it would fire the first one and might need manual bolt pullback, if that is the right term. I have the family’s bolt actions, .22 and 30.06. Also, I intend to have a good stock of LR.

A 10-22 will not cycle with other than .22LR. I don't know if it will manually feed other .22 rimfire rounds or not.

Uuuaaa, I think so. It will not fire in semi-auto mode. Not enough juice to work the bolt and spring.

Also since the chamber is magazine fed, it is way to easy for a short, to get jammed due to the length of the space in front of the bullet. Where as the Henry is tube fed.

And nothing wrong with the 10/22 fine rifle. And nothing wrong with LR's especially if you have a .22 pistol as well. My point was, that a lever gives you options, and can use any .22 that you find.

I've shot some coons on the back porch with shorts, and DW was in the house and didn't hear it. QUITE. Shorts are great, and you can even hear if you actually hit anything, like a squirrel body, with it.

Assume deterrence has failed and the Reds have decided to go to war. The shortfall in regime-loyal LE and .mil forces will be filled by foreign irregulars, who will be promised traditional looting/raping privileges and amnesty from Regime charges. What is your neighborhood defense team going to do against that threat?

The number of gun owners in the US surpasses the total number of troops under arms in the rest of the world by at least 20:1. Further, if the Marxists decide to wage war on fellow Americans, this country is finished, and it’s time for scorched earth. The “leaders” who decided to wage said war would either be killed or forced to flee this country. Unless guns are confiscated, no force on earth can conquer us.

I have a henry that will shoot shorts and there is a conversion kit for the 10/22 to fire .22 shorts. If you happen to own a single shot or bolt action with a 24" or longer barrel it's all most silent with shooting .22 shorts, but some reason today most everyone is enamored with very short carbine length barrels.

Uuuuumm guys, unless they made SERIOUS changes, when using the 10-.22 in Factory mode, the "Mag" is a 10 round CYLINDER.....

The larger Mags feed through a cylinder modification …..

22 shorts and longs are very uncommon. Almost every 22 cartridge you see is Long Rifle. Still handy to have a manual action 22 rifle just in case (along with a 10/22).

Are you saying the round is fired while within the cylinder, like a revolver?
That does not sound right, that would require removing the cylinder and manually ejecting the brass?

Chuck is being imprecise (though that’s understandable because there are no esoteric acronyms to toss out).

The magazine is rotary in nature.

I believe the Ruger 10rd mag is considered a rotary magazine, not a cylinder.

LOL we must not go to the same Walmart LOL. Can buy shorts any day of the week. However, Longs have gone out of vouge and I don't think you can find any, much like 16, or 28 gauge shot shells.
