85-year-old Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has reportedly been hospitalized after fracturing three ribs in fall at court.

She went to George Washington University Hospital early this morning, according to emailed statement from Supreme Court.

“Tests showed that she fractured three ribs on her left side and she was admitted for observation and treatment,” statement says.

We would imagine the 'Left' is about to start panicking.

Don't have to write political thrillers to wonder if one's seeing a pattern of tit for tat, (no pun intended) going on out there.

Older people and falls- bad combo that often seems to spiral into ever worsening health. Interesting times indeed.

Not a small thing at any age. She is not going to give up without a fight. I do admire her for that. Hopefully she will retire with grace. It's time. It's past time.

there is no doubt that falls are game changers for older people. I've seen people at that age - women in particular - fracture ribs simply by rolling over in bed. we'd have better chances of serious issues arising from a long bone fracture - a hip would have been my personal choice . . . she's going to be uncomfortable as hell at best - maybe she'll develop pneumonia - maybe this is part of that Mark Taylor prophecy about TRUMP appointing X number of judges during his tenure. all I know is its a BRIGHT SPOT in the day where future SCOTUS appointments are concerned

perhaps someone who is more familiar with the Taylor prophecy will fill us in on the highlights . . .

With her melanoma, the problems will be compounded.
She will not be able to attend court sessions for some time.
Can she vote when she was not present at the hearings.

I was unaware that she'd been Dx'd with Malignant Melanoma. while doing some research on that issue I ran across this - I don't know how "real" the statement about her "pending retirement in January of '19" is but passing it along JFYI . . . note the date is 9.27.18 and it references Kavanaugh's appointment.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Will Retire from the US Supreme Court in January, 2019
    September 27, 2018

Speaking privately, a law clerk sasy the Justice's Cancer has come out of remission

From the adoring play about her life. Ruth Bader Ginsburg will retire from the Supreme Court in 2019.

While the Nation is preoccupied with the appointment of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy, it appears there will soon be another vacancy on the US Supreme Court

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has had a re-occurrence of malignant melanoma, she has told her law clerks. Ginsburg was treated in 1999 for colon cancer and had surgery in 2009 for pancreatic cancer.

She has told key Democratic members of the Senate about her medical condition, including randing Democratic member of the Judiciary Committee Dianne Feinstein. This explains in part the "take no prisoners" attitude of the Democrats during the Kavanaugh nomination, carefully orchestrating weak 37 year old allegations against Kavanaugh by Women he barely remembers knowing in High School and College.

Kavanaugh is a player in this drama. He's in the wrong place at the wrong time . President Donald J Trump will be replacing Notorious RBG, the lovechild of the left, and so will remake the Supreme Court for a generation. The Democrats simply must win back the Senate in November 2018, progressives feel.

Ginsburg, 85 was appointed by President Bill Clinton and took the oath of office on August 10, 1993. She is the second female justice (after Sandra Day O'Connor) of four to be confirmed to the court (along with Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan, who are still serving). Following O'Connor's retirement, and until Sotomayor joined the court, Ginsburg was the only female justice on the Supreme Court. During that time, Ginsburg became more forceful with her dissents, which were noted by legal observers and in popular culture. She is generally viewed as belonging to the liberal wing of the court. Ginsburg has authored notable majority opinions, including United States v. Virginia, Olmstead v. L.C., and Friends of the Earth, Inc. v. Laidlaw Environmental Services, Inc.

President Bill Clinton looks on as Ruth Bader Ginsburg is sworn in as a Justice of the Supreme Court. 30 years later, her days on the Court are numbered

Ginsburg was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Russian Jewish immigrants. Her older sister died when she was a baby, and her mother, one of her biggest sources of encouragement, died shortly before Ginsburg graduated from high school. She then earned her bachelor's degree at Cornell University, and was a wife and mother before starting law school at Harvard, where she was one of the few women in her class. Ginsburg transferred to Columbia Law School, where she graduated tied for first in her class.

Following law school, Ginsburg turned to academia. She was a professor at Rutgers School of Law and Columbia Law School, teaching civil procedure as one of the few women in her field. Ginsburg spent a considerable part of her legal career as an advocate for the advancement of gender equality and women's rights, winning multiple victories arguing before the Supreme Court. She advocated as a volunteer lawyer for the American Civil Liberties Union and was a member of its board of directors and one of its general counsels in the 1970s. In 1980, President Jimmy Carter appointed her to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, where she served until her appointment to the Supreme Court.

Considering her pre existing bouts with Melanoma, Pancreatic and Colon cancer, I think it speaks well of her determination to keep going (so to speak).

Yes, she is ultra liberal and strange but now she is sick, very frail and the fall only adds to her problems.

Looks like she was hoping to hold out for a Democrat takeover of the Senate. Given the results of the election, it won't matter if she retires now instead of January. Bet she decides to retire now. I've had cracked ribs, they hurt like hell and you can't get comfortable. She won't be able to do any work for weeks, she might as well leave SCOTUS now and spend the rest of her days focusing on her health and family.

I don't wish evil on anyone. That being said looking ahead she isn't long for this world or being able to serve on the SC. If Trump gets to nominate another one with a sold majority in the Senate now if we think that the left is unglued now we would see them frothing at the mouth with distemper when Trump gets another pick.

Brain damaged is more like it. To think people like it cling to the job rather than retire and enjoy what time they have left.
