First, you asked for nothing so by definition you can’t be a beggar. Stop thinking like that. You’re a giver. So now that you’ve given it’s time for it to come back ‘round again.

As for them finding out that anyone helped you birthday gifts can’t be accepted? We can’t give to your son? There have to be three ways to Sunday to do this without messing you up. Just need to think on it a little.

Anyway, what if you are owed money from people you’ve been Kind to in the past? You can’t help that they decided now is the time to pay the debt owed.

I know what you’re saying. I just think there’s a way around the technicalities and you damned well know you’re no beggar. Sheesh. Quit throwing down the BS flag before I have to come up there and slap you up the side of your head.

The 'Way Around This' is for MzKitty...

    to give us the name of the hospital, trust someone here with her real name so they can contact the billing department and get the co-pay costs and an account number to which payments can be made;

then that person can give us the name of the hospital with the account #,

and we can mail payments directly to the hospital with the account # written on our checks or money orders.

The person who initially called the hospital to set this up, could then call the billing dept once a week to see how much is left to cover the co-pay.

When they co-pay is reached, that person will put out a post letting us know we have reached the goal.

Then MzKitty will be ready to go without having received a dime herself.

Exactly. I highly doubt you could have just anyone do it though. Mzkitty needs to acquire and provide the information to an admin or something. But it could be done.

That sounds doable. We need someone local or closer than most of us are. Rochester is a ways off from dh and me. I am surprised that Medicaid is not available to pick up the slack on this tho. It's that way in Maine. Dh is going to need cataract surgery next year and we were told between Medicare and Medicaid it would be paid for. Pretty sure the copay is almost paid for due to his chiropractor visits earlier this year. But yeah, if you are on Medicare/Medicaid there is a co-pay at least for us there was.

i understand how you feel. Accepting help from others and asking for help is the hardest thing I ever had to do. I never asked anybody for anythng in my whole life till just this last year. I finally realized there are just too many things i can't do anymore on my own. So I discovered that by not asking I was depriving people that I had helped in the past to feel good and repay the favors. Some rejected me but others stepped forward and went way beyond anything they might have owed me. I think I have partially learned a lesson in humility but not all the way yet. Ad I agree that there are many ways to help that won't cause problems.

OK lady, I can honor that.
We can always send you a glass unicorn in a box wrapped in green paper with faces on it. Then put brown paper over that to "keep it safe."
    Just a thought....joking aside now.
It is also a paying it forward thing from other people who have helped us in the past.
    Take care now.....keep in touch......

    From the Bible:

"Cast thy bread upon the water and it shall return to you 10 fold."

MzKitty, you have 'cast thy bread upon the water'. Now it is trying to find a way to return to you. Please expect a '10 fold' return, too.

    God bless.

And thanks, Bev, for bumping this thread.

I think this is a great idea, BUT PLEASE--if anyone here is a CPA or knows someone with experience in this area, let's ASK first.

I know what she means by things "getting really messed up" if she gets too much money.

My (blind) son is on disability (and many other disabled children I've come to know over the years are, as well) and the rules for that are Draconian.

The person receiving Disability is not allowed to have over $2000 in ANY and ALL bank accounts / savings accounts / what have you, at any time, or their payments are stopped in that month it first goes "over".

I had a friend whose (severely) Autistic son's disability payments were stopped because it went $5 over the $2000 mark when the new month's deposit went into his account. She had to go round and round the mountains to get it re-instated.

In MZ Kitty's case, the way the GUBERMINT thinks---THEY (the IRS or Disability or whatever) may count ANY MONEY PAID TOWARD THE HOSPITAL as MONEY GIVEN TO MZ KITTY---and then she's in trouble, if that stops all her other support payments.

So this is a great idea, but if anyone is in this field or knows someone who is, let's check it out first, ok? I wouldn't want to make things harder for yer.

Thank you, everybody. But as I said, there really is nothing I can do at the moment but wait to see if my son gets his Disability. After 3 years, we are so far behind on everything that I jokingly told him to enter the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes.

Editing here to add that I have had some correspondence from MzKitty and the post office would not work out for her, so she is going to wait until next month for her son's SS hearing. Let's all pray that works out. So disregard the below post. If you change your mind, MzKitty let us know.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Many here would not mind contributing to help MzKitty. My thought is postal money orders. Those can be cashed at the post office and the money does not go into an account like a check or direct deposit, and the funds can be kept as cash until needed. It costs, I believe, 90 cents to buy the money order and that way the money can be kept on the down low.

I just got mine paid off and it came to around $470 plus there were two eyedrops I had to have for postop and they totalled around $100-120.

So maybe anyone that wants to help out can clearly state such and MzKitty can PM her address and name, and we can schlep to the post office for money orders.

I had mine done and it does make a big difference in just daily life. Also one stands a better chance of having a fall when your vision is impaired, and us old ladies know the danger of falling.

Let us help out so you can get it scheduled and then get back to "work."

I am clearly stating that I want to help out and would like MzKitty's mailing address.

ETA: Think of it as a loan. Once you win the Publisher's Clearing House, you can pay us back, how's that.

How about setting up a way to send funds directly to the HC provider, that would go toward the needed $$ for the procedure?

Then mzkitty can keep her address private, too, if she wants.

A couple of drops of Castor Oil (cold pressed only) put into the eyes right before you go to sleep will also get rid of cataracts.

My cataracts are a side effect of radiation therapy for the lymphoma in my neck. I had nodes really high on one side, almost right under my ear lobe, and within less than two years I had an operable cataract, as well as dental issues.

Or many years of sun exposure, no matter what your vitamin levels are. Wear good UV blocking sunglasses outdoors!

Thank you, very interesting, and I have been eating more of the listed items in my prayerful diligence to stay healthy. One trusted source I read years ago claimed that cataracts result from having too many toxins in the body, and the last place they end up is in the eyes. That is why I do a lot of fresh carrot juice and other detoxes.

Especially since those @%!* SMART meters pump out acidic vapors 24/7 365, and fill bodies with toxins. The deep state is wreaking havoc on us from all directions.

I accidentally came across "cataracts" while researching castor oil, and it must be a very effective (and safe) detoxifier.
