Juniper Falcon, the IDF - US Army annual military drill, is set to take place between February 10th and 14th, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit announced.
The goal of the drill is the strengthening of the cooperation, mutual learning, and coordination between the armies.
The drill is expected to include over 300 US Army soldiers and 400 IDF soldiers from different units.
The last Juniper drill, which occurred in March 2018, was labeled as the largest IDF and US European Command joint exercise in 2018, with more than 2,500 US troops deployed in Europe participating alongside 2,000 Israeli Aerial Defense troops, logistics units, medical forces, and additional IDF units.
The United States has purchased Iron Dome systems from Israel for an immediate need of the United States Army, the Defense Ministry announced on Wednesday.
“This is yet another expression of the strengthening of our strong alliance with the US," Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Benjamin Netanyahu said.

If the report is correct then the Russians are drawing a line with Iran by beating up on their proxies. If that's the case then whatever prior agreements Tehran and Moscow had come to were being violated by Tehran. That puts Iran and its proxies firmly into the frenemies column. Nibbling at the edges with proxies only goes for so long. For Moscow, Iranian expansionism is no different than Western/EU/NATO, Turkish or Chinese expansionism. All are seen as threats to Moscow open to all available remediations as necessary. Israel having talks with Russia about Iran shows the Tehran-Moscow relationship is moving into a new paradigm....

More of a regional competitor and threat than a neighbor with complimenting goals. A neighbor with the missile reach to directly threaten Moscow. Currying cooperation with Israel who can also "reach" Moscow gains Russia both consternation to the US and keeps the other parties in the area on their toes, particularly when Israeli motivations are very clear when compared to everyone else. China and Russia are both playing the "Great Game" in the region along with the US and EU.
A "bit" of regional tension serves all of the parties involved to some degree or another in influencing events. It's when one starts to make major moves to run the table, as Iran has been, that things get too dangerous for "the game" to be "played".
Interesting times.

Iran has become the turd in the punch bowl that is Syria. It’s in Russia’s interest to have stability in Syria and Iran has quickly become a de-stabilizing liability. If the Russians have started attacking Iranian backed militias in Syria, it appears that their days of provoking and threatening Israel from within Syria might be over.

Iran, Syria and Hezbollah are establishing a missile factory on the outskirts of the Syrian town Safita, Israel exposed on Thursday according to Channel 12.
Israel’s strategy, according to the report, is to make the efforts public to thwart the construction and success of the factory, which is supposed to be where Iran will turn Hezbollah’s missiles into precision-guided munitions, capable of striking targets in Israel with unprecedented accuracy.
The Israeli report claimed that a front organization named “Anas Group” was created to purchase materials from Italy, China and other Asian nations, and that the factory is currently run by Jamal Said, said to be a known figure in the field of missile production in the Middle East.
Speaking in the United Nations in September, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pressured the international community to pay attention to Israel’s findings and inspect Iran’s movements in Syria. Netanyahu at the time revealed several sites in Beirut, where he said Hezbollah attempted to convert ground-to-ground missiles to precision missiles.
One of the sites, according to the prime minister, was inside a soccer stadium belonging to the Lebanese terrorist group, a second site in Hariri International Airport and a third 500 meters from the airport’s runway in the heart of the Ma’aganah residential neighborhood.
“Israel knows what you’re doing, and Israel knows where you’re doing it,” he said. “What Iran hides, Israel will find.”
In December, he said the sites had been closed as a result of Israel’s exposure of them at the UN.
Hezbollah’s effort to build accurate and precise missiles, facilitated by Iranian expertise, funding and guidance, has been targeted by Israel on numerous occasions in Syria – most recently late last year – when Israeli jets struck a military warehouse that held vehicles set to smuggle precision rocket converting systems from Syria to Lebanon.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards inaugurated a surface-to-surface ballistic missile with a range of 1,000 km (621 miles), the semi-official Fars news agency reported on Thursday, ignoring demands Western demands that Tehran halt its missile program.
Fars published pictures of an underground missile factory called "underground city," saying the "Dezful" missile was a version of the Zolfaghar missile that has a 700 km range and a 450 kg (992 lb) warhead.
Iran says it has missiles with the range of up to 2,000 km, which puts Israel and US military bases in the region within reach.
The EU has stepped up criticism of Iran's ballistic missiles program, while the block remains committed to a 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and major powers.
A 2015 UN resolution that enshrines the nuclear deal "called upon" Iran to refrain for up to eight years from work on ballistic missiles designed to deliver nuclear weapons. Some states argue that the language does not make it obligatory.
President Donald Trump pulled out of the nuclear deal last year and reimposed sanctions on Iran. The EU has been trying to save the nuclear accord.

Israel Must Stop Syria Strikes, Moscow Says Israel must stop conducting air strikes in Syria, Moscow said Friday, according to Russian news outlet Sputnik News.
"With regard to the latest Israeli attacks, we said that such arbitrary attacks on sovereign Syrian territory should be stopped and excluded," Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin said, Sputnik reported. "Any strikes destabilise the situation even more. No one should conduct actions in Syria that go beyond the scope of antiterrorist objectives."Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 21 in Moscow following brief talks that took place at the Paris Peace Forum in November, as well as a series of phone calls between the two leaders.
The meeting comes after tensions between the two countries rose in recent weeks following Israeli airstrikes on Damascus Airport last month. Twenty-one people were killed in the extensive strike, according to a war watchdog. At least 12 of them were members of Iran's Revolutionary Guards.
The airstrike destroyed Russian military infrastrucure, including SA2, SA3, SA17 air-defense systems, an SA22 TELAR, and a J27 Radar.
After the strike, Moscow warned against "arbitrary" airstrikes in Syria. "We should never allow Syria, which has suffered years of armed conflict, to be turned into an arena where geopolitical scores are settled," added Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/...says-1.6916991

Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin warned of a possible conflict between Israel and Lebanon and accused the US of inciting "new conflicts" in the Middle East during an interview in the Russian news agency Sputnik on Saturday.
"As for a conflict between Israel and Lebanon, nothing can be predicted with certainty," he said, adding that America's influence in the region was "negative."
Zasypkin lauded the efforts made in Syria by the terrorist group Hezbollah, which he described as fighting "alongside Russia and Iran" against terror and taking "a responsible approach," including calling on Lebanese political factions to work together.
The Pentagon plans to remove all American forces from Syria by the end of April, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

Nasrallah: I am willing to ask Iran for anti-aircraft weapons for Lebanon

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said on Wednesday that he would bring anti-aircraft weapons to Lebanon from Iran in order to confront Israeli aircraft, calling on Beirut to accept the offer.
“Will the Lebanese government dare to accept the Iranian proposals? Why should Lebanon remain afraid to cooperate with Iran?” Nasrallah asked in a televised address marking the 40th anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution.
“In the military field, wouldn’t people make an uproar and accuse Hezbollah of dragging Lebanon into war should the party shoot down an Israeli aircraft attacking Lebanon? I’m a friend of Iran, and I’m willing to bring the Lebanese Army air defense systems from Iran to confront Israel,” he continued.
According to him, Syria and Iraq are accepting Iranian help and benefiting from it, and “whatever the Lebanese Army needs to become the strongest regional army, I am willing to go to Iran and bring it.”
Israel has reiterated its view several times on any transfer of advanced weaponry to Hezbollah as a redline and will work to prevent any such movement.
In September, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared photos during his address at the UN General Assembly of locations near the Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport where, he said, Hezbollah attempted to convert ground-to-ground missiles to precision missiles. The sites have since been closed.
Israel and Hezbollah last fought a war – the Second Lebanon War – in 2006. Since then, Hezbollah has morphed from a guerrilla group into an army with a set hierarchy and procedures. With the help of Iran, it has rebuilt its arsenal, and now has hundreds of thousands of short-range rockets and several thousand more missiles that can reach deeper into Israel.
The leader of the Shi’ite Lebanese terrorist group spoke for more than an hour in his second speech in several weeks after months of silence, and said that he had gone “on a delegation to Iran” to explore solving Lebanon’s electricity problem.
“I tell you now, Iran can offer an extremely easy solution to Lebanon’s electricity problems, in under a year.”
For several years, Nasrallah is believed to have been living in a secure bunker, apparently located in the southern Beirut suburb of Dahiya, in order to prevent an assassination attempt.
The Hezbollah leader admitted that the group has been “affected by the sanctions” slapped on it by Washington but vowed that it would “overcome the difficulties through firmness, will and resolve.
“From 1979 until today, there has been a chronicle of American defeats and Israeli defeats in this region, and there will be more defeats for them going forward,” he said. “This struggle will continue. The Islamic Republic of Iran is now the region’s strongest country, and the Resistance Axis will remain strong. America will continue losing, and Israel will increase in fear and terror.”
According to Nasrallah, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf States are powerless to wage war against Iran, and the possibility that Israel would start a war with it was “laughable.”
But he vowed that Hezbollah would fight alongside Iran in the event of a war with the United States.
“Why does America oppose Iran? Because Iran... supports Palestine. Even if the entire world gives up on Palestine, Iran will never give up on Palestine or its holy sites,” Nasrallah said.
“If America launches war on Iran, it will not be alone in the confrontation at all. The resistance axis is stronger than ever; the US will further withdraw from the region, and Israel is heading towards more fear and panic,” he warned.

Iran to boost nuclear activities, uranium enrichment
Iran already warned in July 2018 that uranium production would increase following the construction of an advanced factory, which would be ready in 10 months.

Iran is ready to boost uranium enrichment, the spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran said on Sunday during a visit to a park in Qazvin.
Behrouz Kamalvandi said that this would include boosting uranium enrichment to 190,000 Separative Work Units (SWU).
The announcement could raise concerns in Europe about Iran’s goals under the Iran deal and comes amid US sanctions that were put in place last year after the US withdrew from the Iran deal.
In July 2018, Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, warned that Iran would increase its uranium enrichment.
“Some European governments expect the Iranian nation to both put up with sanctions and give up its nuclear activities,” he said.
Iran constructed a new factory to create centrifuge rotors last year. French Foreign Minister Jean Yves Le Drian warned Iran last year about the plan to increase uranium enrichment.
SWU is a measure for work involved in separating isotopes of uranium, the aim of which, according to an article from the website of Federation of American Scientists, is to increase the concentration of “one or more isotopes... A typical enrichment process consists of a number of centrifuges arranged in the form of a cascade.”
SWUs are expressed in terms of kilograms or metric tonnes, the article notes. According to the text of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, Iran was supposed to “keep its uranium stockpile under 300 kg. of up to 3.67% enriched uranium.”
In July 2018, Ali Akbar Salehi, head of the AEOI, said that Iran had constructed an advanced factory during the course of the Iran deal negotiations and that instead of taking another eight years, the factory would be ready in 10 months, according to Iran’s Fars News. This raised eyebrows last year, but the new announcement goes even further. Iran had asserted in 2014 that it would take eight years to get to the level of 190,000 SWUs. It now claims it might reach that level this year or next year. Compared to other enrichment programs, such as India, the figure is still quite small.
Iran is now expected to unveil new information in March or April claiming to have made “achievements in the mass production of oxygen-18,” according to Iran’s Press TV.
This is a “major leap,” according to Kamalvandi. He argued that the isotopes developed would have medical applications, avoiding the nuclear arms issue. “Only five countries can produce oxygen 18,” he said.
Salehi said that researchers at its Khandab site, the Arak heavy water plant, were able to produce oxygen-18 with 97% purity at 60 kg. per year.
After the Iran Deal, Tehran sought to renovate this site according to Iranian accounts. In April of 2017, Iran signed an agreement with China to modernize the heavy water reactor.
Overall the recent Iranian announcements appear aimed at showing that sanctions will not deter them and that they will increase their nuclear capabilities.

A senior Iranian official said over the weekend that the Islamic Republic has the chemical and technical know-how to produce a nuclear weapon, according to Farsi language remarks independently translated for the Washington Free Beacon.
Ahmad Khatami, a senior member of Iran's Assembly of Experts, which enjoys close ties with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, claimed in recent comments that having a nuclear missile "is vital for Iran to confront the U.S. and its allies," according to Farsi language comments made over the weekend.
"Having missile[s] and nuclear authority is vital for Iran to confront the U.S. and its allies." Khatami was quoted as saying in remarks in which he also referred to the United States as a thug.
The comments come on the heels of threats issued by Khamenei to senior Trump administration figures, including Donald Trump himself, National Security Adviser John Bolton, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
Regional experts who spoke to the Free Beacon about the threats said U.S. intelligence agencies must take them seriously, and should launch an investigation into scores of potential agents tied to the Iranian regime, including those known to operate on U.S. soil.
Khatami, in his comments, claimed Iran has no interest in building a nuclear weapon, but that it possesses the know-how and ability to do so.
"Iran never has had the intention to build a nuclear bomb. Iran has the formula but does not want to use the weapons of mass destruction, but it is vital for Iran to have nuclear energy," he said.
Meanwhile, Iran continues to manufacture and test advanced ballistic missile technology capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.
The country has conducted multiple space launches that U.S. officials view as cover for the testing of advanced missile technology known as intercontinental ballistic missiles, or ICBMs.
Iran marked the 40th anniversary of its Islamic revolution on Monday with chants of, "Death to America" and other slogans calling for the destruction of the United States and its allies.
During remarks commemorating the occasion, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the country would not compromise on its increasingly provocative missile tests.
"We have not asked and will not ask for permission to develop different types of … missiles and will continue our path and our military power," Rouhani said in Tehran, according to media reports.
Ahmad Eshghyar, a founding member of the Iran Revival group which seeks non-violent overthrow of the Islamic Republic said: "Ahmad Khatami’s Freudian slip that the Iranian regime has the technical capability to produce nuclear warhead, while declaring missiles as an integral part of regime’s military strategy comes after years of denial of military nature of the nuclear program. The last thing the world wants to see is a nuclear Middle East."
