10 The Most Honest Three Minutes In Television History

This video was made long before the election and it looks like Dumber is sometimes not so dumb. Warning bad language alert a couple of places doesn't last long but just to make a point!

Brutally Honest trump supporter tells it like it is.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ML3q...&feature=share
    RT3:27

Take a moment and think about it. Remember it, Share it and maybe, just maybe, we can be great again!

The point of this video? Not to create animosity nor give an audience to hateful statements from people who, because of their own apathy, in part created the world we now live. The point of this video is to make anyone who cares to pull together and stop the down fall as best as they can. To be good to one another and stop blaming everybody else for our own short comings. To heal ourselves so that we can heal others. Not as separate parts, but as a whole sum of Humanity!

This video has now been seen in 190+ countries!
Still people don't seem to be getting the point.
I am a human being just as you. Doing things for the right reasons just as you.
If you're not treating your fellow man (Mankind) (Human Beings) with compassion, or at least treating them as you would be treated, then how are you helping the situation.
And if you're not helping the situation, then what are you doing?
Its not about invisible lines that divide us rather human qualities that unit us.

It's a lie to think your not good enough. There are two entities in the world.
    1. Evil This is where one feels Anger, Jealousy, Greed, Resentment, Lies, and Inferiority.
    2. Goodness This is where one feels Joy, Peace, Love, Hope, Humility, Kindness, Empathy and Truth.
As I read over the comments I see both Evil and Goodness shared. It is not a country that is evil or good. Rather it is a personal choice of the people in any country to be either Good or Evil. And they do so through their actions.

I am in competition with no one. I have no desire to play the game of being better than anyone. I am simply trying harder to be a better person than I was yesterday.

And Gary Shapiro's quasi-rebuttal. quasi-support of that scene.

    HT Forbes

Is America the Greatest Country in the World?

    Gary Shapiro , CONTRIBUTOR
I write about innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership
Opinions expressed by Forbes Contributors are their own.
The new HBO series, The Newsroom, made some news itself when it debuted because of a scene in the first episode that shows the protagonist anchorman, played by Jeff Daniels, deliver a biting soliloquy on American decline. A YouTube video of the scene, which bills itself as the “most honest three and a half minutes of television ever,” has garnered more than one million Internet hits.

In short, Daniels, sitting on a panel, is asked by an earnest young woman why America is the greatest country in the world. After a tirade of statistics to rebut the poor woman, Daniels’ character concludes: “The first step in solving any problem is to recognize there is one. America is not the greatest country in the world anymore.”

It’s no wonder that the YouTube alone has generated a million views. The soliloquy is bipartisan and strikes a chord with many Americans concerned about the contrast between their youthful vision of America’s greatness and its present day economic malaise. Many Americans may agree with President Obama’s statement, “I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism.”

While I believe that Americans share a sense of pride, nationalism and love for their country, they may not necessarily think about it every second of the day. I think we are an exceptional country and I am eternally thankful that I was lucky enough to be born here and express my passion about the greatness of this nation.

I disagree fully with the often-misstated statistics that suggest we are just another declining country. The statistics quoted are sheer bull.

Take for example the statistics that justified the passage of the Obamacare. These statistics suggest that the American healthcare system is worse off than other countries because of poor infant mortality and longevity rates. While this may be true, those statistics have nothing to do with our healthcare system and everything to do with our lifestyle. Eating right and exercising daily are what improve these rates, not government mandated healthcare. But when it comes to treating and curing life-threatening diseases, America is the best in the world proved in part by the fact that most of the world’s wealthy travel here for treatment.

Critics of American exceptionalism next attack our education system, calling it a complete failure. Yes, the numbers are scary if you look at overall math and science scores compared to many other countries. But consider two facts. First, we have a diverse and extremely large population, and the highlighted statistics are often average scores that mask the huge number of high achievers. Our pre-college education system has challenges, yet citizens of other nations increasingly want their children educated in the United States. More, we have some of the world’s best universities, and we see Chinese government officials strive to send their children to U.S. schools at increasingly younger ages. Indeed, China sends 160,000 of their youth to American schools. Second, it’s not the basics or rote learning that makes an American education valuable: it’s the culture of innovation that we imbue. We may not be the best at basics, but we are phenomenal at teaching students to challenge the status quo. Our First Amendment, our immigrant and diverse culture, our “can-do” attitude and our entrepreneurial spirit come together to produce a nation of innovators.

We lead the world in Internet innovation, music, movies, biotech and many other technological fields that require out-of-the-box thinking. From Apple to DreamWorks Studios, from Amazon to Zynga, we are the world’s innovators. As I travel the world and speak about these issues I am increasingly aware that the government of virtually every other country in the world wants their citizens to be as innovative as Americans.

We certainly have problems, and we must address them. Our politicians and even our voters are failing to deal with the big issues. We focus on meaningless political squabbles as the cost and reality of rapidly growing entitlements threaten to send us into an economic tailspin. We are living today rather than investing for tomorrow. And we are raising youth who may not understand the values that we once shared as a nation.

However, I am passionate that our nation was, still is and can remain the best in world. We not only owe it to our children to act to preserve our greatness, but we must also honor those who have served and risked their life and limb in our Armed Forces to preserve our nation and its freedoms.

We are a beacon for the world. Our challenge is not to lament our decline or even celebrate our exceptionalism; it is to come together with true leadership that can unite us as we sacrifice to preserve and expand our greatness.

( 12:54 ) Newsroom Rebuttal: America Is Not The Greatest Country In the World?
A thorough slap down and rebuttal to Jeff Daniels' viral anti-America Newsroom scene, in which he claims that America is not the greatest country in the world

Everyone needs to be aware of the "sleight of hand" of Hollywood.

Why is it with this one video, out of all the crap that the celebrities vomit, you think that they got it right?

The mark of good propaganda is that you don't realize that it is propaganda...

As long as the working poor has to pay 15% plus compliance on as little as $1000 a year in income the system is FUBAR.

When one is penalised for being a independent indavidual 15% plus compliance on every dollar collected in income when they are starting off and live off only $10,000 a year $1500 plus compliance Is a fine and a whole lot of money for their means.

It's criminal. IMHO. And the above piece is just bla, bla, bla...

Let's get down to the facts, of why this may have some merit.

Actually it is on the first $1. The first $600 is reported on a 1099.

Ok, let's just take the freedom part. Are you going to lie and claim that freedom of speech and the right to bear arms exists all around the world! Remember, Tommy Robinson is in jail for standing on a public sidewalk and repeating information that's on the court web page!!!!

Jeff Daniels Lists All The Virtues America Has Lost Under Donald Trump
    There are quite a few.
    By Lee Moran
    03/02/2018

Jeff Daniels is pulling no punches when it comes to President Donald Trump and his administration.

On Thursday’s broadcast of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” the actor listed all of the virtues that he believes America has lost since Trump took office.

“We lost, as a country, we lost respect, decency, civilized behavior, integrity, class, accountability, responsibility,” said Daniels, who stars in Hulu’s upcoming “The Looming Tower,” a dramatization of the events leading up to the Sept. 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks.

“He’s got none of that,” Daniels added.

Glad I am not the only one scratching my head over people loving this video. I kept asking myself "when is the brutally honest Trump supporter supposed to make an appearance??"

It is well known that liberals hate the idea of America being the greatest country. The fact that he would compare our constitutional freedoms and put them on the same footing as 180 other countries is just belittling our constitution. But then that is what they do. It is just a piece of paper to them.

I will say this: It was subtle and you had to listen closely because he had some feel-good phrases thrown in like..... "we stood up for what is right, passed laws for moral reasons, built things...etc" that would appeal to a conservative. But other crap gave him away, "America wages war on poor people" and if nothing else, his snide comment about people of faith was a dead giveaway that this guy was not really speaking for our cause.

I'll bet if people go back and watch, they will see that some of it sounds good on the surface but if one really listens to what he is saying, one can see the real agenda.

That fact that many of you have missed is that finally someone got tired of all their BS and took and pieced all those parts together and used it against them! Like they do often enough to many of the people we support. I thought it was an awesome job of piecing his words from those clips together to give an awesome speech. Everyone here knows what comes out of hollywood. There are very very few faithful republicans in their ranks. And those that do come out are banished from their ranks.

I actually did not know it was clips from a movie, I did not research everything he said and neither did any of you! You took crowders word and analysis for it as evidence it wasn't true. No harm, no foul, as the video as it stands made up was pretty dang good, except those of you who had seen the movie and knew it was BS. I had never seen the movie.

Yeah, but it's a non issue. A fact that most so- called freedom loving Americans say.......its just the cost of doing business and to be free. A 15% plus compliance tax is chump change.

It's like trying to explain to my 13 year old son why he can't watch a R-rated movie. I told him imagine if you ate a brownie and, unknowing to you at the time, it had a pinch of dogshit in it. Still tastes like a brownie, right? Would you still eat it if you knew that information beforehand?

Crowder had an excellent rebuttal. Figures don't lie, but liars figure. Libs usually spew forth what they believe, not what is supported by facts.

    Agreed.

What would the US and the world be like if the communist menace had been subdued and converted to Captialism? If the evil that drives them was not involved, if they could actually reason..........I'd say it safe to say, there would be no cancer, and relatively little disease. What could of happened if we were not fighting endless wars? My point is, the propaganda was real thick in this video, yet in it they stated the failure of the education system, which we all know is the left, and the results intended. So Jeff is condemning the enemy of America. Crowder nailed it with the inalienable rights that our freedom and property are guaranteed by, which we know the communists can not allow. Again, it's a propaganda piece that actually condemns the left when taken at face value.

I appreciate this thread. I had seen the video quite awhile back, nice to see it in more light.

No. I watched "The Newsroom" (TV series) live when it came out. There is no "piecing his words together." This is straight from the first episode. I disliked Jeff Daniels in it, and "felt/thought" his speech was wrong at the time (This was probably circa 2012-ish). It is just disingenuous commie talking points, and the statistics of "lies, damn lies, and (cherry-picked) statistics" fame.

Steven Crowder made a comprehensive argument as to WHY JD is wrong, and his honesty shines through. I love his pointing out that the only critique in the clip of the Left is that they lose (This is after the 2010 loss of congress, but before the hail-Mary "killing Osama without any proof, wink wink" 2012 Obama win).
